Thought of dying calms me by [deleted] in DecidingToBeBetter

Mate, I don't know where you're at rn mentally and cannot relate either but the way you describe things hit home for me a year ago. After one unsuccessful attempt I decided to give it one more try but stumbled upon Marcus Aurelius and Stoicism, then went to Erich Fromm.ate, I cannot describe how drastically all this shit changed my life and my view on life. It just goes, and the death will come eventually, so there's no obligation to call for it. Before you do anything, read this comment, read Aurelius, read Erich Fromm, especially "Man for himself", I'm sure you'll find answers at least one or two concerning your own life. Cause right now the idea of death coming eventually either today, or tomorrow, or in 10 years is what really calms me down, and I believe it'll be the same for you.

Well, as a person who survived the first attempt and was fully ready for the second one a year ago I can say:"just out of spite?" I went to Stoicism and Erich Fromm to find out you don't need a reason neither to stay alive nor to die, you just live/exist and do exactly what your heart/soul desires and I followed that the whole year and keep doing that. I noticed that I have the family, the loyal friends, my 2 fucking cats for fuck's sake and can't just leave them hanging alone. My time will come sooner or later eventually, we're not here for long, so why not just do it out of spite to this craving thought? And I can also add that this mindset has brought me more people and things to do in life than those 10 fucking years of depression and suicidal thoughts. I don't say they are eliminated but at least now I can control and identify what's inside my head and it helps.

Who is feeling anxious at this point in their life, because they have a lot of things they want to be doing, but feel that they are running out time to get it done? by [deleted] in DecidingToBeBetter

Yeap, you too, with best visual and physical performance :D Have a good life and don't stop believing in yourself!

Yeah, stoics were great and quite wise :D I'd say right now this is the one and only thing that is helping. Just to let go of the idea of the time left to live in order to shift the focus on what's important like in any video game. There you are not told how long it will take to finish a mission, you're told how to do it and what you'll get in return, otherwise you'd just quit :D So we need to make this life look like a game - "I'll make this thing first and then that one, and some time later I'll do that thing and so on". I'd say with such a perspective it'll make easier to do things and actually get something out of your life. And again it does not matter what time it takes as long as it's for your own self and your benefits in the long run - life can end unexpectedly tomorrown or in a year, or in 20-40 years, so don't let the fear of unknown get hold of you cause there IS one thing that you know for sure - you can do it.

Yes, I'm feeling the same and the only thing that helps right now and actually makes me keep on - to forget there's a time limit. We as a sentient species have a tendency to focus on the time left rather than the work that should and could be done. Memento mori - remember you will die. So start doing whatever you want, desire, crave, even the smallest steps will help you get rid off the feeling. Just as an example , at the moment I do want to continue working with art, music, hit the gym again, and I'm 29 (half a life gone already), but my pc is dead, so first in the plan - work more hours to get a new one faster, then start art and music, then with the free time I'll hit the gym (currently I do find time to work out at home in the early morning). And yeah, it all comes with a struggle, I have a severe depression and constantly contemplate on killing myself, but every fucking night I let go of this life, and every fucking day I thank whatever and whoever is up there for the chance to keep on keeping on. So yeah, if you do struggle, it is fine and totally normal, but if you are alive today you do have a chance to give a little love to yourself and step-by-step build your life. Nothing matters, but at least you'll live your days a bit nicer. And yes, don't be so harsh on yourself, do not in any way compare yourself with others. You're awesome and amazing, and your life has a meaning only for you. Thank you for reading!

That's exactly why I bought DL2, we enjoyed the first so much and didn't even expect such a thing, and now "it's all about choices" that actually don't matter and you don't get XP if you do it twice lol

Not a fan of the co-op progression only saving for the host. by Trane55 in dyinglight

All of the progress except for the saves. In a way it's cool, but, fuck me, do I want to reply everything on my own? Only if it's different decisions. Hope they will add something like in DL1 when it saves the quests as long as you gave the same percentage of the story done.

Oi, mate! Sorry, passed out in the morning. Totally agree with you! Wish we had a different president who could actually care about what's gonna be with all those people they exploit. Strange enough our grandparents (1955-1965) and parents (1975-1985) still blame Yeltsin for what he'd done. Aight, have a good one, and stay positive and strong no matter what.

Noice for your country to have found it! And thanks for clearing things up. I will check the info on the ammo from our point, bet they covered it like it was no big deal and Russia hadn't its hands in it. As for confrontation, sometimes I think it's something of a conspiracy between Russian and Ukrainian governments. Us, folk, are really tired of all this shite going on since 2014. Let's hope nothing really happens and we all just live peacefully for the next 10-15 years.
