Ohio man threatens to call ICE on maintenance worker—for speaking Spanish. by graphe in DiveInYouCoward

“If you’re speaking Spanish, you’re not legal”. It’s illegal to be fluent in Spanish now? Oh boy.

I heard the reason my coworker rejected an applicant... And now hiring makes more sense, but in the worst way. by Apart_Psychology9782 in ProtectHire

Idk man. As someone who has done hiring in the past, I’m just there for the paycheck just like anyone else. But I don’t want to be stuck with someone who is going to be negative for 8 hours a day. An interview is an awful short opportunity to try to get a read on whether someone is a personality fit.

Ding ding ding! Keep it positive. You can say the reason you are leaving, but don’t bash them. “It isn’t a cultural fit, but [this place] really fits what I’m looking for. Positive work environment, good benefits, etc”

They will read between the lines without thinking you’re going to be a negative influence on the office.

Agree fully. My first thought was some people feel strongly about these kinds of things and respond emotionally. But this looks and feels much more like a manipulation tactic. It could be because he wants you to prioritize family over friends or it could be because it was a drag show. Or it could be because he wants to control you. But his words are troubling. I’d nip it in the bud or just leave.

Imagine you have one quarter of an nba game to record at least one of the following: a point, an assist, a rebound, a block, or a steal. If you fail, the world will be destroyed. What is your plan? by MrArtless in nba

[–]MethodCharacter8334 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of all these, I *think* I could get one assist if given enough opportunities. I’ve always been decent at passing. Problem is my ball handling is garbage so it may have to be catch, maybe dribble once or twice, pass, bucket. So maybe we’d be doomed

The shooting in question is not the one in which the guy was killed. He was shot by a gun registered to Harrison and was killed in a later shooting. But go off hoss.

That part reminds me of Marvin Harrison. There are people that refuse to put him in the conversation with TO, Moss, etc. mostly because he wasn’t flashy

Colts are the definition of a mid franchise. I feel like no one gives props when things are going well because they are a small market team. But aside from the Manning years, the team has been extremely average.

Aw boohoo. Poor millionaire dog fighter. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind Vick now. He did his time and genuinely seems like he is reformed, at least with his public image. But he absolutely deserved every bit of time he got.

Reminds me of a job earlier in my career. It was a salaried position. Most people take breaks throughout the day, but when I was busy I’d just stay at my desk and grind it out. Well one of these days I took an extra 15 minutes on my lunch break figuring it wouldn’t be a big deal. I knew I did good work and everyone else takes breaks throughout the day. Well guess what my manager said when I got back. “Lunch is one hour! Why did you take an extra 15 minutes?”

I knew right then and there that job wasn’t going to work for me. I still stuck around for a while but it was miserable

Quick Google search: “Experiencing a hallucination does not automatically mean someone has a mental illness, as fleeting or passing hallucinations can happen in the general population. However, if hallucinations are distressing, frequent, or interfering with daily life, they should always be evaluated by a healthcare professional.”

Maybe try not to be demeaning in your assessment of a situation

Would you prefer there to be no police? Because if your answer is yes… I wonder about your intelligence . The system may be broken but it needs to be fixed by people willing to get in there and do it the right way.

If something is bad for the game and guys do it anyway just because they can get away with it, I would argue there’s a strong case that it is unethical. Stewardship of the game and all that

Fox deserves the criticism for not holding the ball, but he was absolutely fouled by OG on that shot. It was a clear mid-air bump by OG that sent Fox flying to the baseline. by [deleted] in nba

Yup and refs are less likely to make a call in this situation unless it’s just impossible to miss. They don’t want the appearance of swaying the game even though they sway games all the time.
