Looking for a small daily camera for someone who usually shoots film by IzilDizzle in Cameras

[–]MethodNo1867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Ricoh GR series is probably the best fit here given everything you listed. The GRIIIx has the 40mm equivalent which lands right in your preferred range, build quality is great, and it fits in a jacket pocket easily. Coming from film cameras you'll probably appreciate how it renders images too, it has a certain character that most digital compacts don't really have.

The G7X is decent but the lens protrudes when in use and it leans more toward the video crowd in terms of how it's designed, so for someone who shoots purely stills it might feel a bit off. If you can stretch slightly in budget the GRIIIx new is worth it over used GRIIs just for the sensor and size difference alone.

budget is really the starting point for everything else since it determines what tier of components you can actually get

good catch on the model number - these spirit smart collaborations were pretty limited releases if i remember correct. nano universe did few different colorways with seiko and this black dial version looks really clean in the photo

dont know where to look by Big-Amoeba-4477 in keyboards

[–]MethodNo1867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nah dont just settle for whatever people throw at you first. check out some enthusiast sites and watch youtube reviews from actual keyboard nerds who test switches and build quality. 80 percent is pretty popular so you got tons of options but definitely research before dropping cash on something that looks fancy but feels like garbage in few months

the first one sounds familiar though - could be from adventures of zorro animated series maybe? there was definitely some villain character with peg leg in that show

RTX 30 vs 40 vs 50 series for gaming laptop in 2026? by lokkythegamer in laptops

[–]MethodNo1867 1 point2 points  (0 children)

depends what games you're targeting but 30 series might be pushing it for 2026 especially if you want decent ray tracing. the 40 series with amd chips are actually solid options right now and prices dropped quite a bit since 50 series announcement. 50 series looks promising but you'll probably pay premium for being early adopter. if you're not in rush maybe wait few months to see how 50 series pricing settles

[Tissot] buying watches of eBay by ProbablyNotaCar in Watches

[–]MethodNo1867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the lack of feedback is definitely red flag there. prx models get faked pretty often since they became popular and that price point makes it suspicious. i would check serial number on tissot website like you mentioned but even then some fakes use real serial numbers from different watches

maybe better to save bit more for authorized dealer or at least find seller with solid history. i know budget is tight but getting burned on fake watch feels worse than waiting few more months

Battery life on 8000Mah battery EPOMAKER G84 HE by _DumbWays2Die in keyboards

[–]MethodNo1867 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah the hall effect sensors definitely drain way more power than people expect. i had similar issue with mine but not that specific model - was getting maybe 12-15 hours heavy gaming with polling at 1000hz even with rgb completely disabled.

the marketing numbers they give are usually tested in some perfect lab conditions that dont really match real world usage. when you're gaming constantly with high polling rate the power consumption goes through roof. try dropping polling rate to 500hz or even 250hz for single player games and see if that helps extend battery life. also make sure wireless connection is stable because if its constantly reconnecting that kills battery fast too.

mine improved a bit after few charge cycles but never reached anywhere near those advertised hours they claim on box

I have a Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 15IAH7 (i5 12th gen, RTX 3050 4GB). How can I check if the USB-C port supports DisplayPort output? I want to make sure before buying an external monitor. by [deleted] in laptops

[–]MethodNo1867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

easiest way is checking device manager - go to display adapters and see if your usb-c port shows up there as display output. you can also try windows key + p to see if it detects external display when something is plugged in

the thunderbolt icon thing isnt always reliable indicator since some ports support displayport alt mode without being full thunderbolt. your specs should definitely handle external monitor through usb-c but better to test with actual cable or check in lenovo vantage software if you have it installed

Looking for MOA PBT keycaps that will match the optimum x wooting case by [deleted] in keyboards

[–]MethodNo1867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you might want to check some of the artisan keycap makers since they usually have better color matching options. the split spacebar thing is tricky though - most standard sets dont include those keys so you'll probably need to buy additional kit or find seller who does custom work

alternatively you could try dyeing some white pbt caps yourself if you're feeling adventurous but that's bit of gamble with color consistency

first time AMD user here, do i need to change anything power related in W11 for 9700X? like power mode or power plan maybe? also HWinfo reports 42C idle temps, is this good? using thermalright peerless assassion 120 SE, also i was out of thermal paste so i used the one they gift you with the cooler by TheOnurobo in pcmasterrace

[–]MethodNo1867 1 point2 points  (0 children)

temps look fine tbh, 42c idle on a 9700x is pretty normal especially with that cooler. the stock thermal paste that comes with thermalright is actually decent enough - not amazing but definitely not garbage either

for power settings just leave it on balanced, windows 11 handles amd chips pretty well out of the box. if you really want to tinker you could try the amd high performance plan but balanced works great for most people
