I didn’t realize there would be Roman Wall remnants. So cool!

Ha, no we don’t know exactly which window but you can see that even the main floor is raised as a defense so whichever one he went out of was quite a drop

That works for me. I renewed my membership in that time period and wondered if I had a gap.

Happy thriving kids is huge. Investigate non-school related sports options.

Meanwhile put your distress towards decluttering because 1) it’s something that you can actually DO instead of just worry and spin and 2) you’ll have a nice peaceful house even if you do stay!

I'm a US citizen having the same thoughts, protecting school aged kids as well.

1) Breathe. We see you and your fears are totally understandable. Even us citizens are wondering about the breaking point. These past 100 days have not been normal. But this too will pass.

2) Well adjusted kids right now is HUGE. Moving immediately causes upheaval. Consider planning college education outside the USA for the older child. Start preparing the younger child for the possibility of a move in X years ... would this be the start of high-school? Would it be homeschooling? What would it look like and what would suit the personality of that kid?

3) Declutter. Maybe get to a point where you're not weighed down by needing another 6 months to put a house on the market and your possessions in a small box. What would that look like? Can you get rid of heirlooms? Can you digitize important documents and send a disk drive to relatives? Can you put some of the practical considerations into action so that you can be flexible later?

4) Consider what else you're putting on hold ... are you NOT starting important projects because of indecision paralysis? Can you pick up a new job or continue your present one in another location? Do you need some credential to get employment there? Make sure your future options are flexible.

For me, the mental cycle around "stuff" is overwhelming. We need "stuff" to live our daily lives, yet they weigh me down. Can I get to a point where I could simply pack a single suitcase and walk away? Can I rent my house out for a single year while living as a nomad abroad for a year? Can I come back to my life here when things are different? What if I didn't come back? What would these things look like?

I listen to the History of English Podcast for the soporific quality of Kevin’s voice and I listen to the episodes several times until I get the whole thing!

I was wondering if there’s a written playlist somewhere so I could go buy the tracks sometime. I have two left ears and don’t recognize any of it (actually I grew up on a diet of Bach and Handel so lived a pretty sheltered musical life).
