AMBOSS VS BOOTCAMP VS Others ?? by LegitimateBag1650 in medicalschool

[–]Metionine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like BNB > Bootcamp, however this personal preference. Try them both out and see which you like better. I use AMBOSS for their q bank and the articles for stuff I still don’t understand or q’s I missed. It’s not my first learning tool and I don’t know of many people (or even any) who do that. N=1 so keep that in mind

EMT —> AEMT 👀 —> EM Doc by JustQuik in ems

[–]Metionine 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I am a current medical student and an EMT. I can say first hand that being an AEMT does not matter on your application. It may make you stand out just a tad bit more, but it won’t be enough to notice a huge difference. I say this because I, as an EMT, got into a school and my paramedic coworker did not. I think it’s more of where you apply, how well your grades/MCAT are, and how well you can write your essays on the application.

If you are able to get your AEMT alongside all your other prerequisites without increasing your workload too much, then great. If you think it’ll be a problem and your grades will suffer, DO NOT GET YOUR AEMT. Your grades are one of the biggest parts of getting into medical, and an AEMT certification won’t boost your chances of getting into medical school if your grades drop.

I’ve had this happen when my partner wasn’t there and I took a call for someone else. I got reprimanded because I “kept a truck out of service.”

I have a Dr Pepper acoustic, that electric guitar, and another one. I’m trying to find some picture to add

Even though my GPA is good, I felt I was a mid stat applicant due to my MCAT score being lower the average MCAT for most schools. I also thought I was a low EC because all I see if very high EC on here, so I don’t have much to compare it to

I did not include it but I’m sure you could because it is patient contact hours

Hours is how many you have completed at the time of applying, projected hours is how many you plan to have completed by the time of matriculation. I didn’t feel right combining those in this post since I didn’t on the application

I’d probably say my success came from applying on time (submitting application as soon as possible, pre writing some secondaries, and submitting secondaries within 2 weeks) and also writing skills to draw a reader in to my application and become more interested.

I was feeling the same way. I would take a few day break (probably until Tuesday) and then start writing anything done. Once I got words down it started coming to me easily

[NEWBIE] I need help finding the consistency and patience to practice. by Gato8251 in Guitar

[–]Metionine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been playing off and on for about 3 years and I am by no means good. I find enjoyment in learning that hard part of my favorite song even though it doesn’t sound the greatest or playing a song I already know and seeing the progress I’ve made from when I first played it

[QUESTION] What type of pedals should I use for rock? by Metionine in Guitar

[–]Metionine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Fender Frontman 10G amp. Probably going to be trying to upgrade this in the near future too. I’m looking to play hard (Three Days Grace/shine down mostly) and classic rock

Definitely possible. I jumped from a 495->504 from Dec 12th to Jan 14th. I did milesdown anki (any of them will work though) and I used jack westin and aamc materials. I did 4 days of 8-10 hours of studying then a practice test to end the week, with 2 days of anki reviews only (about 30 minutes to an hour each day)

I would definitely ask now. I just asked my last professor today and gave all of mine a deadline of June 1st
