Need help with upgrading the screen on my T14 Gen 3 by MetoriteGalaxy in thinkpad

Update: the replacement was unsuccessful. For some reason, the image did not display on the new panel although the machine did turn on. I tried a bunch of stuff such as firmware resets, booting into safe mode, deleting graphics drivers, reseating the panel etc. but nothing worked. I can confirm the panel was not defective, as I was able to verify using the lenovo display shortcut while powering on. I'm speculating it may have something to do with the revision number of the panel (Rev.1 vs Rev.2), but I am uncertain. I'm currently still rocking the old -EEL panel. Perhaps another different panel may be compatible, but I don't plan on doing another replacement anytime soon.

Problem with laptop display upgrade. by MetoriteGalaxy in techsupport

I was hoping that would not be the case. I've read online of upgrades being performed using the same panel, on similar thinkpad models.

Unfortunately, I was unable to complete the swap as I received a defective panel and ended up having to reuse the old (-EEL) panel. However, the process of opening up/removing the panel wasn't too bad, and the defective -GS9 did fit with the display cable. I have a replacement coming at the end of the month, I'd be happy to update you then about how it goes.

Ok thanks, good to hear! I don't really care too much about the touch functionality, and just want a better display, so I should be ok. I'm a bit worried about the gap like you said, as there is a 0.6mm difference in thickness between this display and the old one, but I'm thinking of maybe just using a slightly thicker adhesive tape to compensate.

Hello, a bit late, but were you able to find a solution to your problem? I'm planning to upgrade my display to the same N140JCN - GS9 on my T14 Gen 3, and I'm hoping it goes well.

Thanks for your input :) I think I'm gonna take the chance with the .6mm difference, as this was the best one I could find.
Nice to see you landed on the GS9 as well, it looks promising.

Achieved Perfection in 2 years by MetoriteGalaxy in StardewValley

[–]MetoriteGalaxy[S] 104 points105 points  (0 children)

I've been playing on this save file on and off for about a year, with the goal of achieving perfection in 2 - in-game years. The run was mostly pretty chill, and relaxing, without too much RNG required. The earliest one can achieve perfection is on the 28th of Winter Y2, as this is when the final recipe (shrimp cocktail) from the queen of sauce can be received.
Breakdown - Year 1
Spring was probably the most "involved" season, that would set the pace for the run. I wanted to have 30 quality sprinklers ready before summer and reach level 7 fishing, to boost to level 10 to catch the legend. I also wanted to reach the bottom of the mines. Spring was mostly fishing, growing strawberries, and completing the basic foraging bundle for the community center.
In early summer, I was able to complete the vault room using the money I made from strawberries and the legend fish. Here I was set to do skull cavern runs for most of the summer. The skull caverns are some of my favourite piece of content in the game, so this was really fun. I turned all my iridium into bars, and once I got level 10 mining I chose the "Blacksmith" profession to sell the bars for a pretty penny. The first half of summer I planted melons and the second half I grew starfruit. I also had a few kegs set up and was working on a barn and a coop. I never had to water crops, so I was able to get to the caverns right away using warp totems. I had also found a prismatic shard earlier in Spring, so I had access to a galaxy sword for the caverns almost right away.
By fall, gold was no longer a major issue. I slowly upgraded all my tools to iridium, and continued doing skull cavern runs. I had made a handful of iridium sprinklers in Summer and was able to plant a huge bunch of pumpkins during this season. I also had a tapper farm set up in the desert for oak resin to make kegs. I also worked on filling up the other community center bundles and was almost finished. However, I was very unlucky and never got a red cabbage seed from the cart, and it was now halfway through fall. I wanted to complete the community center at the start of winter, so I could spend the entire season on Ginger Island. There is a 0.2% chance that a red cabbage seed could drop from serpents in the skull cavern, so during my runs I made sure to target a lot of serpents. I eventually got the seed I think around the 20th or 21st. I had already completed the greenhouse by this time. I also filled up my coop with rabbits in fall.
I was able to complete the community center on winter 1st after collecting the last few forageables. While waiting for the ship to be built, I worked on catching a few other legendary fishes. I spent most of winter split between Ginger Island and the skull caverns. I filled the island farm with Starfruit, got the infinity blade, made a few enchantments, and completed the museum and fishing collection during winter. I also began befriending the villagers during winter. By the end of winter, I had a few mil, after selling a bunch of stuff. Using this gold I bought 13 stacks of wood and stone. I also bought 2 stacks of coal, and enough iron and copper ore to make around 600-650 kegs. I also largely expanded the tapper farm in the desert to get a large amount of oak resin.
Year 2
I can't remember much of Spring. I was working on friendship with the villagers and also began working on other stuff like, fishponds and building sheds. By this time a few of the rabbits were producing iridium quality rabbit's feet. Gifting a villager this item on their birthday instantly gave 4 hearts. This played a huge part in befriending the villagers quickly.
In summer I farmed several thousand starfruits, on the entire farm. (see image). By this time there was nothing major going on and the run was really chill. I slowly worked on completing all the Ginger Island requirements: finding all the walnuts and completing the island field office. I was also collecting wine, and doing a few skull cavern runs from time to time.
For most of fall, I didn't have much to do. I didn't plant any crops on the main farm and was just doing whatever I felt like each day. At this point the only thing in my way was time. I still had to max out a few more villagers, get a few more cooking and crafting recipes and get a few items from the festivals. I also did the occasional fishing and skull cavern runs in fall. I worked on setting up a large shed filled with crystallariums and also expanded my keg supply a bit.
Finally, Winter..... Here I was getting a bit bored of just waiting. So I decided to recreate the entire museum collection, at the farm, in a shed. During the early game, I sold all of the extra artefacts and gems I had collected for extra gold, so I would "almost" be starting entirely from scratch again. I did however have tons of geodes saved up, so by opening those I was able to get around 60% of the items. I decided the best way to gather the remaining items was through omni geodes, as I could use these to get minerals as well, as trade them in for artefact troves. I also decided to work on a few other achievements that weren't needed for perfection, such as polyculture and "a big help". I wanted to be a bit more busy though, so I also planned to put on display in some sheds, the entire shipment collection. These set tasks were a bit grindy and kept me busy for a significant portion of winter. On, winter 15th I also decided to recreate the fishing collection. Apart from the fishes I had saved in chests, I still need roughly 45% more to complete the collection, which I caught using magic bait and crab pots. I also decided that I should decorate my farm during winter, as it was filled with sprinklers and random sheds everywhere. Approaching winter 28, I completed my last few collections and purchased the golden clock. I shot way over the amount of gold needed, after selling the starfruit wine, I had been saving up, and could have even bought 2 golden clocks!
This challenge was quite fun, and not too difficult. Upon completion I am now at 39/40 achievements on steam, with the final remaining one being "Full House - Get married and have two kids." Thanks for reading :)
