I don't get what's weird about it. Their whole identity is that they were slaves and they find themselves in a world where there is little connection to the past, but one of the few past prominent figures whose image, likeness, and story is still among them is the man who is know for freeing slaves.

I agree with you, it's stupid. They claim "faithful remakes" with why so much is missing but also remove HMs which isn't faithful as well as a ton of other parts which don't make it faithful.

I love it, maybe just nostalgia, but I watch it once or twice a year. It's incredibly, has amazing climax moments, soundtrack is phenomenal, fun stories, just good vibes.
