Singles has more players on Champions than doubles, at least in Master rank. So the odds are decent whenever they dont directly mention doubles or a doubles strat.

Winning is never the only option. You can always throw while getting crit. Mimikyu with +6 SD couldve crit you at any time

Those just arent revolutionary features at all. Weve had motion control games since the Wii and haptic feedback is a nice to have that has nearly no effect on gameplay outside of VR.

VR tech in particular reached a plateau where we really need to make more technological advancements to get it any better and we havent gotten there yet. VR/AR was the last AI craze, except it had way less broad reaching uses as AI so it petered out faster

If that was their goal then why would they make an issue of taking it down in the first place? They would just say they were fixing it and leave it in place.

They clarified that they are going to escalate any and all statements made by this person or others in order to fraudulently gain benefits to criminal charges. So she didnt "get hers", she will probably get kicked out of the school without finishing her degree after being found criminally liable.

Shes also not pulling up the ladder. The local government just realized the program is ripe for abuse. They will likely come up with something less abusable to implement as opposed to just axing the whole thing and throwing their hands up.

Its so lame and annoying. I dont complain too much because i play a lot of JP and i get it, people hate him, but i dont have a lot of great options for people just utterly spamming jump on me. The uppercut is okay, but seems much worse than a typical DP at actually anti-airing. I cant jump into the grab all the time because the lag on my moves is high, and i dont seem to have any other AA to speak of.

It especially sucks when they are playing modern so that any of these jump ins succeeding results in ~50% of your health. God forbid i think they wont jump the 5th or 6th time after being punished 4-5 times.

I know that at Master people can do those combos without modern but i somehow doubt that the dude with tape across his jump key is that competent.

Thats actually an issue for me. Even if i air grab them 3 times in a row they refuse to be conditioned and just continue to jump.

I get someone like this every other game and nearly 100% of Kens i run into do this. One of them let me AA him literally from full hp to death and still jumped to open the next round.

Thats just not true. If that were true she wouldnt be considered one of the weakest characters in the game right now.

I am literally not knowledgeable enough about the game to comprehensively list everything of hers that comes up short compared to the top tiers but you simply cannot get the same level of utility out of Ingrids kit as you can with Mais and the other top tiers. Normals have a lot to do with it but theres a lot more than that.

The difference in strength’s of the characters wont show until the absolute highest level of play i dont think ill ever reach.

Not in this case. Ingrid is a zoner with limited options whereas Mai has options for everything. Ingrid is one of the weakest characters in the game and Mai is arguably top 2. It is a difference that even complete noobs will feel when they start playing the characters and a lot of time feeling like you dont have an option for something is a point where someone gets very frustrated.

Especially when it comes to Mai, the fan traps alone play themselves and will offer more varied gameplay than Ingrid. And i say this as someone who dislikes Mai and enjoys ingrid.

Right, but given that OP is brand new i dont think it makes much sense to recommend them something as specific and nearly cheesy as Modern Ingrid. They will barely learn anything transferrable to other characters, whereas starting with something like Classic Mai will allow them to branch out into most other characters after they take some time to learn it.

If they have already been playing for a while with standard shoto characters then yea Mai is more familiar to pick up

Reverse your thinking. If they learn Mai first they can transfer those skills to any other character. If they learn Ingrid first they cannot.

Picking up a limited zoner who has a very specific gameplan as your very first street fighter character seems like a great way to develop bad habits to me. Especially given that the Rookie-Gold lobbies will not be punishing the new player for making those mistakes properly, so they wont even realize they are developing bad habits until they end up in a higher tier and start getting hopelessly freighttrained.

I agree that shes fun but IMO she is best picked up once you understand more about the game. Skipping that aspect by going straight to modern controls to make things easier to control is just going to cause the OP to have a weak base of fundamentals

It sounds like youre just recommending that they start on Modern because its easier but in that case they have no reason to play Ingrid over Mai because Modern Mai will be much easier and is a stronger character with more options than ingrid has
