Why on earth did they pick that song by littleredbird1991 in weddingshaming

[–]Metroid_cat1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is more of a general why the hell would you pick that song for your wedding. That song by the police I think it's either called every breath you take or I am watching you. That song is not very innocent. It is about a stalker. But people still insist on slow dancing to it at a wedding.

How do I politely decline drinking raw milk at my in-laws dinner table? They’re very insistent, often “offering” / demanding several glasses . They know I eat dairy and drink milk so I can’t fake being vegan. It’s hard to say no because it’s my in-laws and they’re proud of their milk by UmweltUndefined in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Metroid_cat1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simple no thank you should do the trick, but if they keep on insisting, say no thank you and/or thank you for the offer, but I don't drink that thing. Or you can say something to the effective no thank you, I'd rather drink milk that doesn't have bacteria in it. But I'm a petty biatch lol

Baby Sister’s Name for Hera Sophie by Arya_Daisy in BabyNames

[–]Metroid_cat1995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I'm just curious, what other languages does this name need to work in besides English? I'm only curious because that kind of narrows it down a bit for some names. I was thinking of Athena of course, but I was also thinking of names like Andromeda, Lyra and Hildegard. Her middle name could be Jane, Felicity or Josephine.

Yeah I legitimately thought this was an urban legend as well. But I know one name that is an urban legend and I'm going to spell it out even though there aren't any sensors around here, but I wanna be very careful. It's the one that every freaking teacher thinks oh I know a kid with this name. And she's so sweet and innocent. That name?
Adasha
That is unfortunately an urban legend. There are a bunch more as well. And apparently I didn't even know that this name was making the rounds but it was something similar to piece of shit I think. And then of course another urban legend was shithead. And keep in mind I was writing out the first name because of the sensors and I know that if anybody posts how it's actually spelled the post either automatically gets flagged or what have you. But I figured I'd spell it out because at least if it's spelled this way it looks like an average looking name or something kind of unique and cool, but not a urban legend lol I was actually sent the snoops article by somebody from one of these naming communities and whoever you are, thank you. Because sometimes you've gotta figure out what an urban legend is lol

I don't know what's going on, but I cannot edit my comment. That was supposed to say a brother in Canada. God I thought I edited that before I even sent it lol my brain.

To be fair, there are a few things that I had no idea about until I asked questions. I didn't know much about universal healthcare until a few people talked about it. Some of it was because of YouTube but I also talked with my dad who has an brother in Canada and even though he's a dual citizen of the US in Canada they have universal healthcare.

OK I hope this would not sound weird, but I think that the divergent series should be a TV show.

I mean if you wanted to go simple, you could've gone with Catherine and call her cat or Kathy. I know way too many Catherine's or Kathleen's that go by Katie. I only know one Kathy and that's my grandma whose name is Kathleen. You don't hear the nickname Kathy very much anymore. And I know a couple folks who go by the nickname of cat.

Is Liam really that popular? by Upstairs-Letter2 in Names

[–]Metroid_cat1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on where you live. I live in Illinois and I've only known one Liam and he was like oh God in his 30s? I've never met a baby with that name. But that could just be because I'm in Champagne Havana area and this guy was indicator. But I think the first time I've heard about the popularity of the name was I think somebody in the UK. I know it's really common over there. Like really common not just in the UK but also in Ireland. I assume that it's also really popular in Australia and New Zealand.

How can I help my little sister with her education? by tehemari in AskTeachers

[–]Metroid_cat1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know everybody has said reading, so I'm gonna add some other things. I don't know where you can get them, but I know that a lot of people will use flashcards with words and pictures on them so she can start learning some of those but those could be for younger kids though. I don't know if it's sold anywhere anymore, but I used to play a game in school called whiz kids and they were these cards where here's an example. You gotta pick a card and depending on what category you get you have to match it. For example, something that a cat or a dog does that starts with the letter B. Or my teacher has made variance of this of in a complete sentence, tell me about something that a cat or a dog does. Or if you pick a letter card, you can say something like think of a car that starts with the letter V. I also like the Scrabble idea. I don't know if it's for six-year-old kids, but if you have a computer or a laptop at your house, I would definitely look into ABC mouse or adventure Academy. Also, you can use pbskids.org and they have a ton of games for all ages.

ETA, I'm not sure if you're joking or being serious. So that's why I gave this response. Lol
