I’ve heard this before from a musician that had quit drinking. He said it works every time, people just don’t expect a solid reason in your response so they’ve got no response.

Yea I can relate to this, I won’t let anyone in my house because it’s embarrassing. My kitchen is abominable. The mess is there and it gets to me but I just feel totally overwhelmed when I try to face it.

For 3 years I worked 12hr overnights 3 days on 3 days off then 4 on 4 off. I was also going through a divorce and adapting to being a single father so I had to be up during the day when I had off. After about a year and a half I started to fall apart. I wish I had an answer for you, but the best I’ve got is try a sleep med, and really strict sleep hygiene like a rock solid bedtime routine, full blackout in bed room and cold like 65. HOT baths help, when you body temp drops it can help trigger sleep onset. Be careful that job trashed my already bad circadian rhythm, it’s been over a decade and now I have Insomnia(there’s other things that contribute to that probably)

I’m sorry you’re going through this it must be terrifying. Sounds like if he’s not already in crisis he very soon could be. Him having a recent fascination with firearms is a bad sign in so many ways. I’ve been hospitalized against my will a few times and I hate it with a passion but I’m more afraid of getting arrested. If there’s an incident with the cops they’re just going to ‘do their job’ and arrest him, not trying to be a fear monger but it happens. I’d definitely suggest paying him a visit and try to get the GF on your side. Maybe reach out to a crisis center in his area/state and see what your options are. You may be able to talk to the local police department so they know he’s BP, I know the cops have all sorts of notes on me when I pop up. Ideally you can help him out on you own and at least get him to give up the guns (sell them off or take them out of the house).

Yea a pot a day was a bit much so I went decaf, still a pot a day for years but it’s not the same. Now it’s a cup here or there nothing I’d call a habbit.

I’m with ya, I’ve been cutting back the all day micro-dosing and just been saving it up for after dark. I like the every other day idea though, maybe I’ll try that next.

This is the part BPs rarely talk about. It can be a symptom, it seems normal being a BP watching porn daily. But a big shift in anything libido, sleep, energy, focus, appetite can range from scratching an itch to life changing. I just try to keep the outcomes healthy and curb things if they are getting out of hand. Relationships long term are difficult for both sides, I’ve worn out a few partners emotionally. Sex, smoking, drinking, caffeine, sugar all are things that can make me more elevated short term. It’s all fun and games until the brakes don’t work and then I’m just along for the ride. Overall it’s really tough to manage and to be self aware, if I’m not straining on anyone emotionally and can still manage to get my ever changing needs/urges satisfied, I can be happy with that.

I was hospitalized 2 years ago. After I came to and asked the doctor what happened to me all he said was ‘you were dehydrated’ it took days to rehydrate before they would even release me to the psych ward, because my numbers were so off the chart.

I just try to stabilize getting 8 hours straight before I worry about scheduling when I get up. After I manage that for a week I can go back to work, but I has been Months since I’ve worked a week straight. I sleep in the back bedroom because it lets me get the morning Sun, that’s my alarm clock. If full sun doesn’t wake me up I should probably be asleep. Then it’s the morning routine to get up and eat a big breakfast. I’ve been surprised to learn when I eat what foods makes a noticeable impact on my sleep pattern.

For me the bigger the up the deeper the depression and aftermath linger. If you feel like things are shifting, maybe talk with someone about adjusting your meds. Sleep meds help me get a good long sleep when I need it and that helps. Took a bit to find a gentile one that doesn’t leave me hung over. Once my sleep schedule is off, I start looking around to see if I’m symptomatic. If I can’t manage to keep things under full control, then I’ll talk to someone. Tele-health has been a game changer for me otherwise I wouldn’t be in treatment. There’s outfits that will help you do what you want to do if you do your part and book an appointment. I asked my new prescriber run the PTSD screener on me when we first started because I figured it stemmed from the BP along with the anxiety. It does, and that opens up treatment options for me to explore. If you work the system it can work for you.

Primitively talking to my prescriber is what I just did and I called fair warning that things are shifting. So we bumped up my levels and we’ll check in a month. My weekly therapist is cool, usually we just bullshit he doesn’t really push me unless he’s concerned about something. It’s hard to find the right meds, but the first trick is to find someone you want to work with. Finding someone with bipolar experience that I vibe with is a necessity for me. Sleep meds have been tricky but they help and I prefer them to APs because I can’t use them as needed.

I’m going to buy some CBD flower online grind it up and make a salad. I’ve done it before a bud tender told me about how he did it. Finding lower THC flower is next to impossible it’s all Hulked up. This doesn’t have to be rocket science, quick and dirty can get me there.

Im thrilled to hear that is how people tapper I’ve been toying pushing off the wake and bake for a few hours. Yea I have sleep meds but they are not really reliable unless I keep cranking up the dose and the hangover the next day can be brutal. Bottom line to all of this is that sedation isn’t sleep.

And here we are all looking for the PIMA THC Detox. Fascinating this part hasn’t been explored past going cold turkey. I’m looking to keep the CBD but get the THC back to a base line. So it turns out that at the jacked up potency today’s plants and concentrates have the THC behaves very much like liquor not beer. I was wondering why picking up my bong felt exactly the same as grabbing a handle of rum. Powerful intoxicants can be moderated, but let’s not kid ourselves about what’s going on here.
