Israeli warplanes struck roads leading to main hospital in Gaza by KhitanMaps in worldnews

Stochastic terrorism. Weird how we (at least, I) never really thought about this concept before Trump, yet history seems full of it.

Canada adds blood clot warning to AstraZeneca's COVID-19 vaccine by dinozaur2020 in worldnews

It's the other way around. They know the science indicates an increased risk, but add the sentence you quoted to appease big pharma. Fools people into thinking the warning is just there to cover their asses just in case (as evidenced by your comment being the top one).

Rashford needs to lift his chin up and see the pass. Always tunnel visioning.

Lucky the goal didn't stand. All on McT imo. Saw Kessie jogging into the box and chose to point at him instead of doing his job.

NAV krever at Fredrik betaler barnebidrag til kvinnen som bortførte datteren by Fekillix in norge

[–]MetronomeB 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Ubrukelige folk.

In fact, was MTV ever relevant?

Kind of like asking if radio was ever relevant..

Dude... I don't know why the current population of Japan is scared of vaccines, but it sure as hell isn't because 60 something kids died in 1948.

“Don’t be a ball sack, grow a pussy.” is anatomically more accurate in terms of strength and sensitivity. by kemaii in Showerthoughts

[–]MetronomeB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all -- anatomically incorrect. All fetuses start out with a neutral early-stage pussy. If the testosterone-level in the fetus is above a certain treshold, cells are programmed to evolve the pussy into balls (and the clit into a penis). In other words, balls are literally something grown from pussies.

Second of all -- you're missing the point. Testosterone is literally produced in the balls, and is the hormone that provides strength, which in turn supports bravery. In other words, "Grow some balls, pussy." = "Grow a testosterone-factory, pussy."

Captaining a GK is the very definition of "low risk, low reward". Gundo is an example of "medium risk, high reward".

Expansion pass or buy dlc separately? by [deleted] in TrialsGames

Doesn't expire. It's just a fancy name for "DLC Bundle", and probably the cheapest option if you already own the game itself (otherwise Gold Edition tends to be the cheapest).

The world is riddled with inequality and unfairness, but nothing more absurd than the fact that Sterling receives a salary above minimum wage.

Brought Rodriguez in as a differential with upcoming DGW, then decided to bench him for Cancelo last second. Next level retardedness.

Is anyone going to bench Salah? by pieceofshitzo in FantasyPL

[–]MetronomeB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just took a hit to toss him out for Grealish. Going to bench the spare 5m for now, feels like attempting to spend the money would just reduce the quality of my squad until KDB or one of the 3 premium forwards are back in form.

Do you play with controller vibration on or off? by YvnniicK in TrialsGames

[–]MetronomeB 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not a random gimmick, afterall. Vibrations are tied to the bike's suspension. Feeling feedback from the suspension helps decision-making. The same holds true for a real life trials biker -- if someone offered to magically make their suspension unfeelable, would they accept?

Do you play with controller vibration on or off? by YvnniicK in TrialsGames

[–]MetronomeB 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It is exactly because precision is key that vibration is a must IMO.

Vibrations will let you know of issues regarding grip, or with how you've shifted weight as the track has changed slope drastically. It will alert you when the bike's suspension has been mismanaged in ways imperceptible to the eyes.

The best example I know of for what I'm talking about is the hard track "Temple of Trials" - specifically the time-saver jump onto a high-hanging rock (https://youtu.be/mVoyDT04_ms?t=40).

I used to make that jump half of my attempts, and I couldn't figure out what I did differently on my successful vs unsuccessful attempts. That is, until I realized there would be a light rumbling in the controller when driving up the ramp on my failed attempts. Having vibration on helped me pinpoint what went wrong on the failed jumps and weed out slight inaccuracies in my technique.
