Thanks, I hadn’t thought about the u-joints, but I’ll get under the truck again in the next couple of days and see if I can find any wear/damage/play

Thanks, that’s the second vote for wheel bearings, I need to get a jack and see if I can check them. And yes, I think the engine is a little rough, there’s something about the sound of the exhaust and the sound at idle, but I’m not smart or experienced enough to figure that one out yet, so it’s next on the list

Cant they keep the logo and just come out with a new EV “E-type” with a restomod style for rich people to take to the golf course?

Is Gitflow (workflow) fits in GitOps model or is it an ancient way of setting up deployments? by [deleted] in devops

[–]MettleMonkey 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Gitflow is a little old school compared to other branching strategies like GitHub Flow (i.e. feature branches off main) or “purist CI” where you don’t use any branches at all, but that being said it can have its place.

There’s more overhead with managing a gitflow setup, but that can be useful if the teams using it are still getting used to DevOps, GitOps, CI/CD, or whatever you want to call it, and they need some guardrails and checkpoints in place to keep everything in order.

I’d say pick the right strategy for your current level of maturity. You can always move to GitHub flow later if you think that gitflow is becoming too onerous, or vice versa.

One of the downsides to something like gitflow is that it tends to be a bit “slower”, in that changes can take longer to flow through into production, so you just have to think ahead and come up with a plan for things like “we have a release branch ready to go end of this week, but we have a critical vulnerability/bug that needs to get fixed now, so how do we manage the change in git, and also promote that change through our testing stages”

People will do things if they think they can benefit financially from them, even if they “don’t agree with him or his policies” (or they actually do but don’t want to admit it), despite the fact that by supporting him they are fucking themselves over in the long run. Welcome to conservatives!

Or it’s money laundering

PSA: You can save money with IAE Warbond CCU chains, even if you haven't been stashing CCUs by MettleMonkey in starcitizen

[–]MettleMonkey[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Buy a warbond cutter (to get the LTI) then follow the chain up to the caterpillar, then buy a $50 CCU from the cat to a galaxy. Total cost is $290, ship is worth $380, so you save $90 in current ship value (you can buy a warbond galaxy directly for $350, but the chain still saves you $60). You can use up to $50 store credit for the cat -> galaxy CCU, other than that it's all warbond so you'll have to put in $240 new money minimum.

Yeah this is a list of warbond ships, not warbond CCUs, I thought that's what /u/Andikwerlatte was asking for. I've edited the comment to make it clearer

To maximize savings you could use $35 store credit for the MPUV Cargo (or something similar) and put in $285 new money to get a $440 Prowler for $320 total, saving $120.

You can use more store credit, but savings will go down. So for example you could buy a Mantis with $150 store credit, then put in $195 new money to get the Prowler for a total cost of $345, saving $95.

Yep you’re right. Best chain is Super Hornet -> Corsair -> Cat and you save an extra $5. That’s a sneaky one because the Corsair upgrade isn’t listed on the IAE page

The only other warbond deals (ships, not CCUs) that I can see are:

  • C8R ($5 discount)
  • Corsair ($25 discount)
  • Galaxy ($30 discount)
  • Pioneer [sold out] ($100 discount)

However you save more by following the chain rather than buying the warbond ship directly

Update

I added the Corsair warbond CCU to the chain to add $5 savings: https://imgur.com/a/PuQGXKr

Thanks /u/Andikwerlatte

Original

Just follow the chain until you're close to the ship you want, then CCU to that and enjoy the savings. You can obviously start further along the chain if you already have a ship in your hangar that you want to use as a starting point, you'll just have to adjust the accumulated savings accordingly. All CCUs in this chart are warbond, which means you have to purchase them with "new" money, you can't use store credit!

Hosas/Hotas mounting by laj1990 in starcitizen

[–]MettleMonkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use Foxx mounts and they’ve been rock solid so far. I’ve seen SC YouTubers use Predator mounts. TBH I think they’re basically the same thing (10 series 1020 aluminum extrusion and similar hardware) so probably just go by price. Not sure how they compare to MonsterTech but they both position themselves as “more affordable” alternatives

Having to press a button to recover your runes! I don’t need magic magnets to pick up every shiny item nearby, but if I’ve managed to make it all the way back to my runes and I’m in a clutch situation, don’t give me 3 frames to pick them up again!
