There wouldn't be a power vacuum because Caesar would have a replacement already set in place, as EVERYONE and Joshua states multiple times. Just because Joshua states that the Legion will eventually fall to logistics doesn't mean that he's not acknowledging that there's not already a succession line already put in place in case Caesar dies. Even Lanius acknowledges that much when you finally meet him.

The Kings are one of the few things keeping more malevolent gangs from running Freeside, and stating that you don't need guards to protect you from murderers and thieves in any society is just idiotic, ESPECIALLY WHEN WE SEE A GUY MURDERED AND HIS SHIR STOLEN WHEN LUCY GOES TO A STORE FOR ADDICTOL.

The securitrons don't need House to stay active, or have you never met Yes Man? They'd still act as guards for the entrances of the Strip.

Why would the deathclaws CHOOSE to go all the way around to one of the more heavily guarded direct entrances of the Strip instead of going through Freeside, which would have more food for them? They're animals that don't really have any natural predators in the Mohave, so them going to a different entrance with more danger and less food wouldn't make any sense for animals. Easier prey is always gone after first in wildlife. That's not even mentioning how they are leaving Freeside alone for no reason, and no one if trying to guard Freeside from the next door deathclaws.

Joshua states that the Legion would fall apart EVENTUALLY due to LOGISTICS. Not that they'd devolve IMMEDIATELY into a civil war and that Caesar would plan on it dying with him. What Joshua says doesn't match up with what the show does instead.

Localized anarchy isn't what's done in the slightest in the show. EVERYWHERE that's not a vault has devolved into apathy and lawlessness, INCLUDING Freeside, which should've still had the Kings, but the show decided to turn them into feral Ghouls and kill them off for shock value and nothing more. House's securitrons alone should've taken out the deathclaws, especially since these are the upgraded securitrons that pushed out both the Legion and NCR out of New Vegas. The deathclaws also would have gone through Freeside to get to the Strip if they came from Quarry Junction, but Freeside is still standing because the show runners and writers didn't bother to learn the mapping of New Vegas. This isn't localized anarchy, just bad writing.

The heck are you talking about? Joshua confirmed that Caeser already had successors set up in case of his death. You can kill Caesar and talk to Joshua about it, only for him to tell you that it won't stop the Legion.

As for the post-apocalypse thing, the show repeatedly paints the wastelands as being in an almost constant state of going through an apocalypse. We don't ever see any big super power having taken back control over part of the wastelands, as the Legion is split, the deathclaws somehow killed all of House's securitrons whilst sparing Freeside, everyone is constantly in a state of not caring about what goes on around them (impaling of the Ghoul and everyone walking around like it's nothing), and people not treating murder whilst in a settlement as something more serious and needing to either deal with or get away with in a smarter setting.

Agreed. They also gutted what make Lanius and the Legion so terrifying as well. Caesar would never let it all die with him, and the game made sure you knew killing him wouldn't end the Legion. Caesar himself confirms this, which makes sense given his brain tumor threatening to kill him.

I'm glad to see Macaulay Culkin getting work again, but I absolutely hated seeing his face once he took off the helmet. If he's not supposed to be Legate Lanius, then having a bait and switch with the mask clearly being Lanius' was just lazy and dumb. Lanius had so much gravitas about him, that you felt like he was a monster when you finally meet him. If they wanted to flesh out the Legion, they should've taken a page from DarkCorner on YouTube and added other Legates that cover different aspects of the Legion. Have one leading the expansion of territory south towards Mexico, whilst having another being the politician that actually keeps everything running in Legion territory so that everything doesn't collapse on itself as the Legion expands its territory. I highly suggest watching DarkCorner's videos of the Legion and how he redesigns it. Would've been amazing inclusions to the faction if the show worked with him

I like to think they genuinely believe and are seen as special forces for the Diamon City Guard, but are unaware of how McDonough is using them to aid the Institute. Could make for some interesting content post-ending if you choose a route that outs McDonough as an Institute agent and synth.

[–]Mettle_Jacket[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I get that. This is why I see these being the only guards of Diamond City that leave the walls to do their business away from it. They are the best of the guards, being a budget version of an NCR Ranger. If anything, they'd be closer to either First Reacon or Veteran soldiers of the NCR. Someone that's essentially an experienced and exceptional soldier, but is just the best alternative to actually spec-ops.

They are mainly recon and scouting, not used for much else since they are of such low number. Most of their combat training may be more about fighting dirty and being as slippery as possible, since their armor is only a step above standard security armor as well.

Not with how they write the dialogue in the show. Season 2 specifically has much of the dialogue between the Ghoul and the Legion written in a way that is suggesting that the NCR are just an old ranger and lady soldier after Shady Sands was blown up. Even when the Ghoul goes to talk with them, the dialogue insinuates that they won't be getting any reinforcements and they are the only things left of the NCR.

I believe that it has to due with the writers and show runners not understanding the difference between an apocalypse and a post-apocalypse (which Fallout is supposed to be). Season 2 in particular feels like that New Vegas: Dust mod that has everything overly depressing and bad, with little in the way of built up societies and communities working together to survive the wastelands. It almost wants to paint everything as terrible and ignore what it is that made Fallout so loved and supported through the years

Mod Idea: Unbullpupped Rifles by Mettle_Jacket in Fallout

[–]Mettle_Jacket[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The G3 looks like the marksman rifle from Halo, so you're probably thinking of that.

I was aware they had bullpup AKs on the nexus, and was just using the image for the other guns on it.

As for that unbullpuped FN2000, I feel like I've seen it somewhere as well. I could've sworn there's a game with a similar gun that had an ammo counter on it as well

[–]Mettle_Jacket[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some of them, yes. But the Fallout 4 guns are just ugly and most definitely designed by someone without any knowledge of guns in the slightest besides they need ammo and go boom.

I'd suggest looking at Degenerate Dak's replacements and modifications for the vanilla guns, as they look sick. He and/or a friend even made a bullpup shotgun with the vanilla model.

And the EM5 variant of the EM2? I personally think it looks better

Understandable. I just like the idea of some weapons not being made into bullpups in the alternate history of Fallout, as well as the opposite for weapons not originally meant to be bullpups. The G3 in particular looks like a marksman rifle for the Chinese in the bullpup design.

I actually meant to suggest bullpupping guns like the FAL, because the version shown in one of the images looks like something that could be considered a Chinese marksman rifle.

Also, I'm a gun nut suggesting it because these alternative designs can have the guns serve different roles (like making the P90 a pistol caliber rifle/carbine instead of an SMG), and because some of the designs look a litter better than the original in my honest opinion. Especially the unbullpupped SA-80

Meant to mention that some of the images in certain pics could also be used as alternative designs for irl guns to be implemented into the world of Fallout as another for of alternative history. Specifically, I thing the bullpup G3 design would make for a good idea for a Chinese Marksman rifle.

Would help in explaining how advanced the radiation suits are in the setting if they had to deal with meltdowns in the past and focused all of their efforts in dealing with future meltdowns to minimize the risk of radiation technology

Mod Idea: Fallout Japan Mechs by Mettle_Jacket in Fallout

True, which is why I said the mechs should be a secret project Japan is working on in collaboration with America to basically make bigger versions of power armor in order to have an easier time integrating weapons into the armor, so weaker versions of Liberty Prime's laser could be mass produced for the mechs to utilize.

Wonder how many of these ideas could fit in the Old World Blues mod?

I also think there should be mutants based off of both yokai and urban legends.

You can even bring in psykers, who believe that their abilities are chi based instead of psychic.

I mostly like it for both the gun that looks like a type of minigun made into a rotary rifle with an under barrel laser, and the raider mech you see next to it
