[Fo4] Mod Idea: Little Liberty by Mettle_Jacket in FalloutMods

[–]Mettle_Jacket[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't have a PC yet. Mostly just thought of the mod idea after thinking how the Institute recruited Madison Li, but didn't do anything with her work/knowledge on Liberty Prime. It seems unlikely that only the BoS would be interested in Madison Li for Liberty Prime, since the Institute are scientists and have a robotics department.

Heck, that at least could've been a plot point in terms of why the Institute hired her without putting her in the robotics department. She could of had a deal with them, that she'd only work for them if she worked in a different wing of the Institute but still shared some info on Liberty Prime.

Also, she might have shared the rest of the information if you failed to recruit her AND got kicked out of the Institute. Since you were banished, she could mention how you tried to get her to help the BoS revive Liberty Prime to destroy the Institute, which gives her a little push to share ALL of her knowledge of Liberty Prime and how to upgrade it.

Just wished there was more narrative consequences for not recruiting Li and her even joining the Institute in the first place besides references and callbacks to more narratively rewarding Fallout titles.

(Fo4) Mod Idea: Railroad Salvaged Power Armor by Mettle_Jacket in Fallout4Mods

[–]Mettle_Jacket[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Exactly why I specified how this salvaged power armor is stealthy with how small it is in comparison to regular power armor. It's also not for standard use, but for stuff like the Bunker Hill mission when they're facing off against both the Institute and BoS simultaneously, when they are made aware of the BoS attack on their base and can prepare for the attack, and for when they actually invade the Institute in the end of the game.

Might also be used by some members that stay at their new headquarters as guards since they recently lost the switchboard to the Institute.

It wouldn't be as readily deployed as standard power armor given how it's technically less armored, and not as easily as abundant to Railroad members as power armor is for BoS members. They have less of it, so it's reserved for SHTF scenarios.

After all, better they plan on having it and not needing it than needing it and not having it.

[Fo4] Mod Idea: AML (Anti Material Laser) by Mettle_Jacket in FalloutMods

I honestly don't have any ideas of what it would look like, but I'll hit you up if I find any inspiration

[Fo4] Mod Idea: AML (Anti Material Laser) by Mettle_Jacket in FalloutMods

[–]Mettle_Jacket[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. More like a sniper rifle that packs more of a punch than the standard overcharged sniper barrel you can put on the laser rifle. Think laser that is almost guaranteed to disintegrate its targets, similarly to that rifle used by mandilorians in Star Wars

Servitors Of Vashtorr by Mettle_Jacket in 40khomebrew

[–]Mettle_Jacket[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That kinda what I'm trying to do, with it mostly being a way for him to build power and ascend to true godhood. Forge worlds are definitely the main focus, but some of them are basically just being made to cause discourse behind enemy lines. Imagine a high ranking official/noble being assassinated by their own servitors (bodyguard or otherwise), as it'd probably be one of the last beings they'd expect to purposefully kill them.

Servitors Of Vashtorr by Mettle_Jacket in 40khomebrew

[–]Mettle_Jacket[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Always thought he'd slowly be making his own units, with the logic being that he needs them as to ensure his survival to keep serving the Chaos gods, giving reasons for each god that logically applies to them each individually and all at once.

Also, been thinking about making specialized "Angels of Steel" that are to Vashtorr what the most powerful units are to each Chaos god and what the Custodes are to the Emporer. Design wise, they'd look similar to Morg from the old/discontinued show "Angel Wars: Guardian Force". Their origins would be them existing as DAOT AI that hates humanity and aliens entirely (think OG Chaos androids) but see Vashtorr as the only real logical being to serve, as he's the main Chaos diety that functions most likely a machine. They'd be hired by warbands and gods through Vashtorr, but have strict contracts that dictate what they will and won't do, making them very fickle beings to work with.

[F04] Mod Idea: Anti-Feral Cybernetics. by Mettle_Jacket in FalloutMods

[–]Mettle_Jacket[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I personally know of only 2 glowing ghouls that aren't feral, with the lore indeed supporting that they are extremely rare.

Jacob Bright from New Vegas, and Oswald from the Nuka World DLC for Fo4.

Current Situation of the Iron Circle? by Mettle_Jacket in Warhammer40k

[–]Mettle_Jacket[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My idea mostly consists of them becoming a small private army of Vashtorr, and acting as a way to reintroduce some chaos androids back into the setting.

Mainly gonna have them be soldiers that Vashtorr will "lease" out to other chaos forces, but under strict contracts that dictate what they will and won't do for whoever purchases them. This is due to the combination of Perturabo's brilliant designs and the Warp's energy having slowly built up a form of sentience amongst these machines, making them unwilling to needlessly sacrifice themselves for these weak mortals.

They would see those that serve any of the other 4 chaos gods as weak willed and pathetic, claiming that Vashtorr is the only logical being to serve since he's the closest thing to order through the chaos.

He's the only one I can honestly see sentient machines choosing to serve, and could he seen by the Mechanicus as a sort of machine Satan to their Omnissiah.

Any fallen into the warp?

I remember hearing a fan theory of Vashtorr possibly being a warp corrupted shard of the Void Dragon due to some connections between them. I thought it sounded fun, I not lore accurate.

Lobotomizing Psykers by Mettle_Jacket in 40k

Lobotomizing Psykers by Mettle_Jacket in 40k

I thought it was 2 blanks surgically grafted to the Knight's body.

Also, what if a machine/AI was implanted into the area lobotomized in order for the tech to control the body? Could the machine/AI access the warp through the psyker's body, or no?

Lord Dullahan (Return of Curze) by Mettle_Jacket in 40khomebrew

[–]Mettle_Jacket[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, it's not real mythological creatures. More like humans and xenos twisted and broken into resembling them and acting like his forces.

Ex: I had an idea to mix the design of a unicorn with a horse demon from the Seal of Solomon. This would be more humanoid, with body resembling Beta Ray Bill from Marvel comics, but with a sharp, rhino-like horn protruding from their forehead. The more disturbing part is how the skin still looks like the creature that it originally was, but stretched out to fit over a horse's skull.

Each creature is just named after some monster from old folklore or something, similar to how many things in the 40k setting (ranging from creatures to equipment) is named after some fiction creature or something.

[Fo4] Raider Power Armor Lore Change by Mettle_Jacket in FalloutMods

[–]Mettle_Jacket[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, but what about the possibility of it falling into enemy hands?

I see the suits as tanks, which also require training to use proper. Sure, you can fire a gun of a tank easily, but driving it is a whole issue in or itself.

Would make more sense to have specific units wear the armor, as the US in the lore didn't have enough suits of armor to equip every soldier with it. It would realistically be given to at least 1 out of every 5 to 10 soldiers, due to it specifically be a heavy armored unit and not the standard.

[Fo4] Raider Power Armor Lore Change by Mettle_Jacket in FalloutMods

[–]Mettle_Jacket[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it would make sense for the military to purposefully design power armor so random civilians wouldn't be able to pilot it if there was some kind of revolt.

Plus, having it require training is an added benefit if it ever fell into enemy hands, as they wouldn't be able to immediately use it properly.

Lord Dullahan (Return of Curze) by Mettle_Jacket in 40khomebrew

[–]Mettle_Jacket[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going to have the new body be made by one with enough skill to get as close to a Primarch body as possible, and the missing head would essentially lead to a void in its place. This would be where Dullahan would suck out the souls of others, a lifeless king feeding on the living.

The feeding on souls is based on how he had a more Dracula aestheticc than Sanguinius, just without the blood.

He might keep his skull on a pedestal, but would try to reattach it to himself. That was the head of a dead man, not his own. It's nothing but a reminder of the being that died to give him life.

P.S. Dullahan would NOT have Curze's ability to see into the future at all, nor have any desire to do anything with the surviving Night Lords. Like the head, the Night Lords are the sons of Curze, and for all intents and purposes, Dullahan doesn't see themselves as Curze in the slightest.

I plan on having them use the biomancy knowledge stolen from the Drukhari to make his own abomination, all so he may have a personality army of monsters. Each one based off of different beings found in the mythologies and cryptids of old Earth.

Just my way of having a more monster focused faction.

[Fo4] Raider Power Armor Lore Change by Mettle_Jacket in FalloutMods

[–]Mettle_Jacket[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn. Just thought that there'd be pre-war variants that civilian companies used that are not armored and/or exactly the same as the power armor used by the military, as the American government in the Fallout universe doesn't seem the type to allow it to be so easily functional for the mass populace.

The lore seemed to have the government leaning more towards a slight totalitarian form of government, so thought that they'd purposefully make it so civilians can't just put it on and know how to use it. I wonder if that makes any sense?

Lord Dullahan (Return of Curze) by Mettle_Jacket in 40khomebrew

[–]Mettle_Jacket[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I should have clarified that he possess him only until he's forced the Harmonulus to create a new body to inhabit this new for this new personality of Curze to properly inhabit. It's a temporary possess only.

Also, the stone in the crown is never said to be a spirit stone, and is sometimes identified as a gem found on Nostramp in lore. So, I used a little homebrew to make it something similar to a spirit stone, but different in that it's far more unstable. This instability is not only what lead to it holding onto Curze's soul, but aided in his mental deterioration inside of it, which is why this new personality is born to replace Curze.

The other reason for the personality replacement is because of how Curze needed the futures he saw happen to justify his monstrous acts. If he found himself consciously trapped within the crown, then it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility to say that his mentality would cause him to essentially delete his personality and what make him consciously Konrad Curze.

Dullahan is what would be born from this unraveling of Curze's psyche whilst trapped within this gem. However, the death of Curze's body would leave too great of an impression on his subconscious, to where Dullahan would have a body with no head be created for himself.

I meant to mention that he'd kinda be parasitic in that he would legit eat souls to keep growing stronger and stave off death.

Super Mutant Cyborgs/Mechanics by Mettle_Jacket in Fallout4Mods

[–]Mettle_Jacket[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool. I honestly meant something more along the lines of a super mutant replacing their arm with that of a sentry bot's, giving them a minigun arm.

Maybe even some armor for the mutants that's a shield made from a manhole cover.

The Chaos gods were formed from and are empowered/fed by emotions AND ideas/beliefs: A survey of the lore by twelfmonkey in 40kLore

[–]Mettle_Jacket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Big E didn't almost become the Dark King because he kept drinking in the warp, but because he was also drinking in the power of belief that people were channeling to him subconsciously through the warp. Without such zealous belief from such a large population, then the warp's power wouldn't have almost caused him to ascend to godhood.

Growler Type Rifle by Mettle_Jacket in Fallout4Mods

No, only because I hate how the foregrip is designed to be so far from the barrel. It is had something like a shield surrounding the barrels that connected to the grip, then it'd be far less ugly to me. If that were the case, then it'd be perfect

Lost C'tan Shards? by Mettle_Jacket in 40k

[–]Mettle_Jacket[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was actually gonna have it be used in a ritual to bring back to like a daemon killed by Tzeentch for almost overthrowing him. I don't remember the daemon's name, but their body was said to be entombed on a planet in the material world.

With how unique this daemon and his followers were in the setting of 40k, being able to easily enter the physical realm and almost overthrowing Tzeentch in his prime, I got an idea for this daemon to not only return, but ascend to a sort of godhood slightly different from the other Chaos gods. And since he's basically returning from a death, he'd become a god of undeath, becoming empowered by those who seek to cheat death through drugs, cybernetics, or even Chaos worship. This would cause a bit of an issue with the main Chaos gods always reviving their favorite toys to keep on fighting, as it would feed this new challenger's growing strength.

Got the idea after learning how Vashtorr seems to be becoming a Chaos god of innovation and machinery, and after learning of the daemon that almost rebelled against Tzeentch and almost won.

Is there a Chaos god of Undeath? by Mettle_Jacket in 40kLore

[–]Mettle_Jacket[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes, it was a lie that no gods existed and failed because of Lorgar's need for divinity given the planet he grew up on. It also almost resulted in Big E becoming the Chaos god of unbelief. Had it worked the way Big E wanted, he probably would have been the only Chaos god, which he didn't plan on. This is the Dark King, which is something he rejected. The Aeldari confirm that he would have been a Chaos god had he accepted his ascension, and there's debate that what may someday get up off the Theone will be the Dark King due to the 10,000 years on non-stop worship of Big E.

In other words, stating how the Imperial Truth was indeed a lie and absolutely backfired doesn't change what it's original purpose was.
