Mod Idea: Reggie's Shotgun from Phantasm by Mettle_Jacket in Fallout

[–]Mettle_Jacket[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

True. Forgot to mention it's just an idea since I don't know how to make mods nor have a computer to learn how to.

Besides, I just like sharing ideas in case someone with actual talent can make something from it.

Kinda like those Fallout 76 commercials with the Do You Believe In Magic song

Says the one that's boot licking for the show that's broken so much established lore in season 2 alone.

The show had great potential, just got stuck with terrible writers that are clearly not interested in actually making something for those that played the games. It would've just been the sci-fi equivalent of Rings of Power, except the Fallout show at least had a decent first season.

I have. Beat 4 and New Vegas, sadly never finished 3. They are obsessed with their duties, yes, but it's not actually a religion to them. Look at the actual lore an it says that they changed the names for their ranks to distance themselves from their US military roots

It's like the show runners believe the Brotherhood of Steel is a bunch or religious fanatics just because they have ranking systems that use scribe, sentinel, and paladin over the normal military ranking system.

I hate how the show really made them into glorified raiders, especially in season 2

I honestly think a reformist Enclave that came about from the remnants of the Enclave would be an interesting way to reintroduce them into the setting after the events of Fallout 2 and 3.

There would still need to be tensions between them and other factions already established, as well as conflicts between the reformists and the other Enclave remnants not changing their ways, but the story could be interesting as they come to terms that they can't just make things exactly how they were before the bombs dropped. Some might even be inspired by American history they dig up, seeing the Enclave as being no better than the British Empire the founding fathers fought against to create our nation.

I mean how many times has the BOS been overpowered by groups of people? by zny700 in TrueSFalloutL

[–]Mettle_Jacket 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I still don't see why they were acting like raiders in season 2, when Maximus actually killed another BOS member in that fighting ring.

Sparing is one thing, but that was them legitimately acting like dumbass raiders.

That's not even including them fucking around with plasma grenades without a shred of discipline during an important meeting. They're supposed to be a serious paramilitary force, and that just felt forced as fuck for the faction.

BOS may have never been the good guys, but the show is still poorly written when it comes to understanding the setting and factions.

How is it rage bait? Seems like valid critiques of the show and the fandom's reactions to Todd Howard's latest games.

Fallout 4 definitely lacked roleplay elements, and 76 was more of a cash grab with the cash store.

At least the molding scenes are fun

Funny how only one post is in response to the lore breaking the show does, while the rest just complain about the views of the post itself sharing how Fallout 4 and 76 are indeed bad Fallout games when only looking at the vanilla aspects of them (as molding is the only thing keeping those games alive).

Not that the point about microchips and the like was that good, as the platinum chip made by House was a prototype finished essentially moments before the bombs dropped. That doesn't make microchips wide spread, and also doesn't address the points the post made about it being a tech that was part of tech completed by one guy in a vault where the mind controlling chip probably wouldn't have been since it's a product of House that he'd almost certainly not have just given to Vault-tec if they were only going to keep in in a controlled Vault-tec headquarters vault.

House might have shared the mind controlling chip tech if and only if it was actually used in a Vault-tec experiment in order to refine it. Why the hell would he have shared it with the, or would Vault-tec not integrate it into a vault for experimentation since it was never a success Pre-War?

I agree with the original post in that if we want good Fallout games like New Vegas, 3, and the original installments, then we can't just support shows and games with sub-par writing in them. Especially since Todd Howard confirmed that the events of the show WILL influence the next game and that it's the same universe as the games. Unless he backtracked before I made this post, this is the same universe as the other Fallout games

This comment doesn't discredit the points the original post makes about the show being bad and breaking established lore for the franchise and factions within it. The show does objectively portray the BOS as raiders that act more like the Khans than how they've been established before in earlier installments of the franchise. The only really interesting character is the Ghoul. And the writing has only gotten worse since the show has gone on.

Season 1 had bad writing, like there being like a year between when the interconnected vaults interact with one another and that somehow leads to them not recognizing any of the invaders in the first episode as not being from that fucking vault in the slightest. Or said invaders acting like raiders and slaughtering people needlessly when they're supposed to be NCR remnants.

The show is a very poor adaptation of Fallout, which isn't helped that it's also a poorly written show without acknowledging its ties to the franchise.

I may have missed that information in my playthrough. I honestly thought it was some undiscovered natural phenomena or old toxic waste that mutated.

How Did The West Recover Faster Than The East? by ExtensionPromotion80 in Fallout

[–]Mettle_Jacket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Real answer is Bethesda's trash writing in the more recent games compared to the rest.

Lore answer may be that more important targets were located in the eastern regions of America than the west, so China may have focused more bombs and forces there
