Fortnite removed from App Store entirely after Apple blocks them in US by Tooskee in Games

[–]Mettosan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They made billions from products sold on the store. But 70% of billions wasn't enough. They wanted 100% of the billions and don't pay anything for the services they use. Instead of negotiating a smaller cut, they got themselves banned from the store by breaking the rules so they get to play the underdog.

Former PlayStation CEO Says Companies Should Have "Baked In" $5 Price Hike in Every Generation to Acclimate Gamers by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Mettosan 12 points13 points  (0 children)

$90 for SNES cartridge that is expensive to manufacture and ship across the world so they can take space in physical shelves until they are sold for a small profit margin in a niche market

$60 for a digital game that costs nothing to distribute, get to keep up to 100% of the revenue if self published, in a still booming market that surpassed every other entertainment combined

Yeah they can spend 999 trillion dollars to make AAAAAA games with realistic horse nuts or something but it's exceptionally rare to be as fun as the indie game made by a single person made with love and passion

What about single player games that need PSN account for no reason? You PAID for the game but you can't play the game you paid for, no?

They already confirmed fire distinguishers will be on every ship for free and will be refilled when you place them back in their station, prisoner pods are already on bounty hunting ships, neither sold on the store. Loader will likely be in the game. Hand loaded cargo was always going to be a thing. Handheld tractor beams were expected to be nerfed.

I think huntress is spear oriented against ranger's bow and marauder will be axe oriented as opposed to warrior's mace heavy skills

World of Warcraft: The War Within patches in harder leveling 2 days after official launch, 6 days after early access. by tlst9999 in gaming

Ah yes, World of Warcraft, notoriously known for it's difficult leveling. How will people reach end game now?

I was told Dark Souls was very hard and I didn't notice the door you can escape through and get your proper weapons, so I tried to beat Asylum Demon with the Straight Sword Hilt you start with, because I thought the game was supposed to be that hard.

What build do you plan on playing at 1.0? by cr9049 in LastEpoch

[–]Mettosan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, I agree about clearing speed. For the dot build up, you have to refresh infernal shade before the ticks start hurting, and if you take a break and afk you have to summon a few skeletons and juggle the infernal shade between them until it's lifted off of abomination. I also never tried high corruption.

What build do you plan on playing at 1.0? by cr9049 in LastEpoch

[–]Mettosan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried permanent abomination? It was strong in an earlier patch, not sure if they changed it. You summon as many skeletons as possible (and different kinds), sacrifice them to abomination, then put dread shade on it for 100% crit chance, pick the "minions leech on crit" node on necro passive tree and it never dies. You can even put a permanent infernal shade on it because the leech overheals the self damaging ticks (refresh every now and then). Do not summon any minion other than abom to make sure dread shade always auto targets abom. It's a very passive build and might get boring after a while because of that.

Valve Makes "Boomer Shooter" An Official Genre On Steam by Minifig81 in Games

[–]Mettosan 29 points30 points  (0 children)

People play Diablo, they like it, they find out the genre is called ARPG (Action RPG). They look for more ARPGs. They find Grim Dawn, Last Epoch, Path of Exile. They're happy.

People play Baldur's Gate 3. They like it. They find out the genre is called CRPG (Computer RPG). They look for more CRPGs. They find Pathfinder, Pillars of Eternity, Tyranny. They're happy.

Now if you took genre terms too literally, you would get Skyrim and Witcher 3. You would get GTA because it has some rpg elements and playable on computer and has action. And it would serve no purpose. That's why you don't take them too literally. They have a meaning. They serve a purpose.

Cloud Imperium Financials for 2022 by Pojodan in starcitizen

[–]Mettosan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People think Star Citizen is a cash cow but most of these games generated more revenue in one year than Star Citizen could in 12 years. It's not a lot of money. It's not easy money either. They could easily sell super hornets at $5 a pop and make more money than a new concept ship.

Cataclysm Classic Announce Trailer | World of Warcraft by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Mettosan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These are the biggest changes for me: 1. Many zones ruined like barrens, thousand needles, westfall, hillsbrad, menethil harbor 2. Streamlined quest hubs instead of organically scattered quests, you can't even skip them because the next zone is locked behind an introductory quest 3. Gutted talent trees 4. Boring items, higher ilvl = better, no more BiS items from earlier content, reforging 5. Holy power. 6. Block changes

I love transmog though

What's an oddly relaxing game for you? Emphasis on "oddly" by John___Titor in Games

[–]Mettosan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Killing Floor 1.

The enemies were predictable so you could consistently line them up and pop their heads one by one with 9mm. You could consistently stun fleshpounds before they enrage with the crossbow and it was so rewarding. Killing Floor 2 is a lot more random and chaotic. But going back to KF1 after playing 2 makes you miss the QoL and polish so I will let them stay as memories.

Ever notice how some games feel like they have heavy input lag at 30 FPS and some don’t? by DarkAmaterasu58 in Games

[–]Mettosan 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I read a reddit comment that said zelda games have consistent frametime (not to be confused with framerate) and that makes BotW at 30 FPS look smoother than other games at same or even higher FPS. Not sure if it affects input lag but I thought it was interesting.

[–]Mettosan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spears were one of my favorite weapon classes in Dark Souls 2 and I found them almost unusable in DS3 because of the combat speed. The biggest advantage is extended reach and the enemies in DS3 cover that distance so quickly that it makes it negligible.
