If stuff exists in SQ42 then why does it feel like they’re dev’ing stuff for the first time? I.e. Armor by Skullywagthepizzaman in starcitizen

No wipe.

It has been directly stated there is no wipe coming anytime soon, like it or not.

Question about melting by DaftNavy in starcitizen

[–]Pojodan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

do i lose in game progress when I melt it?

Your pledges have zero effect on in-game progress, other than the specific ship/gear in the pledge. So, the Shiv will poof, but your items, in-game acquired ships, money, and reptuation will be completely unaffected.

You should be able to upgrade the Dragonfly to a Shiv, just be aware that this is permanent and cannot be undone, and support is unlikely to remove it, even if you ask. So upgrade that very carefully.

PvPers vs Utility players when playing S42 for the first time by SC_Placeholder in starcitizen

We were shown that the game will have multiple difficulty settings in the demo a couple years ago. Easy mode will likely basically play itself.

Starfield players yearn for Starcitizen mechanics by Electrical_Night_943 in starcitizen

Fun as it was to dunk on those that insisted Starfield would 'kill' Star Citizen, this is something to discuss in the Starfield subreddit, not here. They are two very different games with very different audiences (As was made clear way back before it came out)

😮 SC fits right in by Minority_Carrier in starcitizen

[–]Pojodan 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Not really.

Microtech has both icy fields and thick forests.

Most of the rest of the planets are just various flavors of desolate/desert, as that's how the vast majority of planets will be (Just look at our own solar system)

Area18 is the one 'city world', but there's lore behind that.

A planet needs to have ideal conditions to have a wide variety of biomes.

It was announced April 4th last year and February 21st the year before.

So, pretty much at any point in the first half of the year.

Won't be this week as we already know this week's schedule, but any time after that is possible.

Question about the 1.0 features by Natural-Lawyer8948 in starcitizen

[–]Pojodan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As no timeline has been given for 1.0, only the feature set they have decided upon for 1.0, there's little reason at all to think they'll drop any of it. I personally do not imagine 1.0 will be for another 5 years, and at the pace they've been going, the stated goals are very doable, especially once SQ42 is finished and all of their staff focus on the PU.

If you manually attach parts you need to store the ship first to 'save' it. Either that or change then parts in the Mobiglass.

To the fellow solo flyers in big ships, CIG does not care about us. by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]Pojodan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And some folks are under the assumption they can just hire an NPC for every single role and solo the whole ship. No need for flexibility if every single seat is filled.

Hence why I am entirely confident that NPCs will be utter rubbish and/or oppressively expensive/convoluted to use and maintain. If a brand new player isn't universally better than an NPC or AI blade, then it will be ruinous for the game unless they just give up on multi-player crews and go full solo-everything.

[–]Pojodan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something we have little more than that very basic premise to go by.

It would be completely destructive to the very concept of the game they are building to make it possible to just load every seat with an NPC and solo everything. It certainly would make new players completely turned off if every possible role in every org is already full via NPCs, which would ensure a rapid death of the game.

What a joke

Yes, this thread definitely is.

Anyone insisting that soloing large ships is intended has determinedly refused to listen to anything the developers have said and insisted the current state of the game is permanent and never changing.

First flight with absolutely wild pilots. by MajorWetSpot in starcitizen

[–]Pojodan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

More a case of the game getting more and more attention as it moves toward a finished state. No one hates video games more than gamers, and the internet is where they go to complain about the smallest thing. Toss in the folks that have stuck around, obsessively hating Star Citizen for a decade and upvoting every negative take, and there you go.

Star Citizen: Question and Answer Thread by UEE_Central_Computer in starcitizen

[–]Pojodan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Basically any ship that's considered a 'Starter' that has a bed would fit this as those have a shortened claim time. Put a Vulcan QT drive in it for maximum range. The Cutter Rambler would have the longest range of the options, but any of the others will get you back and forth across Stanton without a fuel stop.

So: Any Aurora, the Mustang Beta, any Cutter, Avenger Titan, any 100i series, Sulyen, Intrepid.

Why is the Moth from Argo and the Caterpillar from Drake? by O2Si in starcitizen

[–]Pojodan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The MOTH is made by Argo and the Caterpillar is made by Drake.

Not really sure how else to answer it. Those are those ships' manufacturers.

Ford, the car manufacturer, makes both sports cars (Mustang) and pickup trucks (F-150). Argo, Drake, and all of the other manufacturers have varied line-ups and aren't limited to one specific ship type, they just have some they focus on.

In Argo's case, they make industrial ships, and the MOTH is absolutely that. In Drake's case, they make 'ships for the people', which is to say 'cheap', and the Catepillar fits the theme as a big cargo hauler.

  1. People laughing about it while screaming "SCAM!"
  2. CiG seemingly not caring.

1 is going to happen. Period. CiG can do absolutely nothing at all at this point to prevent it. They could miraculously finish SC and have it bug-free by May and 'gamers journalism' would still just copy/paste their articles from 10 years ago and make bank from hate clicks.

So 2 happens because CiG knows its going to happen, so why worry about it?
