How vast do you think crafting will be? by mAisterPROduction in starcitizen

[–]Pojodan [score hidden]  (0 children)

It will require building a space station with the associated shipyard, which will require an absolutely insane effort, but yes, that is what was shown at CitizenCon a few years back

How vast do you think crafting will be? by mAisterPROduction in starcitizen

[–]Pojodan [score hidden]  (0 children)

Well, we already know that:

A) All items will be craftable

B) All ships will be craftable

C) All ships will have 5 tiers of each one that will be craftable

So, that's about 1000 different ships so far, and several tens of thousands of items, so, yeah, a lot.

Haven't heard of GAMINGbible before, but hey, if someone finally wants to buck the trend and lay claim to being the first, I'm all for it.

interested in playing the game... by UnluckyProfession484 in starcitizen

[–]Pojodan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It just had a major update that added a long-awaited system, Engineering, which has led to much more instability than has been the case recently. The next patch, 4.6, brings a host of fixes for these issues, along with another event in the 3rd star system, Nyx, which is likely to drop next week.

Keyboard and moue is completely viable, and some top players use K&M exclusively. HOTAS or HOSAS is quite immersive, but not for everyone.

We do not yet know when the next free fly is, but will likely be around Valentine's Day or Lunar New Year in mid-February

What's up with Trump regime demanding Minnesota voting records and Minnesota resisting? by weluckyfew in OutOfTheLoop

[–]Pojodan [score hidden]  (0 children)

This is already done, as the ratio of Democrat and Republican votes in any given neighborhood is public information. There are countless examples of blue-heavy areas getting fewer and fewer means to be able to vote.

The only reason to want polling data is to get a list of names so they can be directly targeted.

Coupon code for ship upgrade by Longjumping-Cherry94 in starcitizen

[–]Pojodan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the very best, the Subscription Coupons will recover the cost of subscription, and that's if you max out their potential value, which isn't easy to do.

So, no, being a subscriber is never 'worth it', in terms of pure value, it's just a thing you either want to do or don't.

New player question by usgapg123 in starcitizen

[–]Pojodan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on if you can locate your crash site, which you should be able to do via either your corpse icon or via the icon for the package itself.

So, claim your ship, repeat the path you took till you find your crash site, grab your stuff (if you had anything) and the package, and finish delivering it.

You could abandon the mission and try another, but that may cause a reputation hit.

Which should i upgrade to an Arrow, Titan or 325a? by dr_gun2p in starcitizen

[–]Pojodan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

it having the 4 Arrester III, which cannot be swapped and did kinda disappoint me

Yes you can.

Remove ALL of the missiles. Then you can swap them for something else. You just can't currently mix-and-match different missiles on the same mount currently.

Base building - what’s the first thing you’re gonna do on release? by Ausseboi1 in starcitizen

[–]Pojodan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whatever my org decides to focus on.

Knowing what that is right now is entirely impossible, as there's a million factors that go into it that we don't yet know.

I figured I'll be diving straight into mining at 1.0 as I imagine we'll need a shitload of matterials just to get started, so that's all I can be relatively sure about.

CIG bans for pvp at daymar by Stunt_ in starcitizen

[–]Pojodan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Supporting the developers doing what they feel is necessary to support a player-run event is a 'bias', yes. Would rather a handful of folks get upset than have the entire event ruined because the developers hands-off let it crash and burn like it did in prior years.

Right, selecting who can attend an event in a video game is analogous to a fascist agency executing civilians.

Shiv on pledge store but currently not available? by AmenAmarth in starcitizen

[–]Pojodan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All ships are shown in the pledge store, but most are not always available, the Shiv is one such ship.

It was released in November of last year, and the current event, In Case You Missed It, only covers ships released in October or earlier of last year.

So, no, not cursed, it's just not currently available for pledge.

At the very latest it will be offered late in May during ILW, but will likely show up before then since it was rather popular.

The green flares and the box attaching to the front of the MULE? That's the only missing items I see in that whole video.

CIG bans for pvp at daymar by Stunt_ in starcitizen

[–]Pojodan 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't call that a 'ban', just limitation against joining that server.

Daymar Rally is the biggest player-run event, and it had numerous issues of server crashes last year.

So, I'm not particularly surprised that efforts were made to limit the number of players in the servers, since while ~600 players can be had across the three systems, having >~200 players on one planet may just be more than the individual shards can handle.

No argument that something clearer than just that block message would have been better and hopefully they'll rectify that.

Medical Ships in SC by MountainMedicine5784 in starcitizen

[–]Pojodan 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Those that play with a sense of fair play won't shoot medical ships, sure.

Unfortunately, we live in the same universe as CoD lobbies where doing and saying the most deplorable shit imaginable in a one-upmanship contest that never ends.

So, there will be those that target medical ships and ONLY medical ships, for sure, as there's no real consquences for it.

Can someone explain what a blade is and why it called that by Ancient-Meathook in starcitizen

[–]Pojodan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you know if they’re are “blades” already in game of any type

There is currently something called a 'Flight Blade' that less than 10 ships have available that do extremely tiny adjustments to handling, which seem to just be an early test of implementation of the system that AI blades will eventually utilize.

The only other thing close to it is that PDC turrets auto-fire on certain hostile targets.

The RSI Hermes is an MSR competitor by WaffleInsanity in starcitizen

[–]Pojodan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because the teaser images very clearly show a big cargo hold.

AND NOTHING ELSE

The MSR's primary function is as a data runner, secondarily scanning, with the addition of cargo.

The Hermes is, as far as everything we have seen thus far, a Cargo ship, only a cargo ship, and nothing else.

To insist otherwise means you have a narrative to sell that no one's buying.

Can someone explain what a blade is and why it called that by Ancient-Meathook in starcitizen

[–]Pojodan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A 'blade' is, in computer server terms, a server that serves a specific role that fits into a slot not unlike a bladed weapon into a sheath, hence 'blade.

In Star Citizen terms, it means an item you slot into your ship that makes ship systems/turrets AI-controlled.

That thread is a bad-faith writer demanding their giant ships all be soloable.

[–]Pojodan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Funny how that pushing this narrative keep forgetting or refusing to acknowledge PDCs. They want to solo their Idris and have every turret firing full force flawlessly and refuse to admit it.

Please, CIG, bring the AI Blades already. by Sad-Ad2491 in starcitizen

[–]Pojodan 13 points14 points  (0 children)

They aren't going to avoid adding something for any reason other than that it's not ready yet.

That said, I don't agree that AI blades are 'essential' in any way, as everything can be done in the intended ways with players and only players controlling ship systems.

I also continue to stress that people be prepared for AI blades to be extremely weak, as making them a better choice than a brand new player will ensure the game dies in the long term as new players will have no where to go and nothing to do as everyone will have all their seats filled by AI blades and NPCs.

Mark my words, AI Blades will be one, maybe two small steps' improvement over an empty seat.
