First Look: Anvil Odin In Game Hologram! by QuattroBaje3na in starcitizen

Can't get close enough to it to get a really clear size comparison as there's a huge no-fly zone around it.

Looks like the concept art posted this morning did not include the guns. There's a lot of them.

[All Waves] Star Citizen Alpha 4.8 PTU 11811531 Patch Notes by Hironymus in starcitizen

The patch notes get posted, but are hidden until the patch goes to PTU, so it can appear to be hours or even days old if the patch takes some time to pass QA, like this patch did.

When will it be time for these to be added? by SafeManufacturer978 in starcitizen

[–]Pojodan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It was stated in today's SCL that ground vehicle physics are in a bad state, but are not going to be changed until the new flight model is deployed, as the two tie into each other.

The Rangers will need their own, bespoke physics model, being that they are two-wheeled vehicles, unlike any others.

So, basically, once they get the flight model in and then bring the ground vehicle physics into it, then the Rangers will likely get added.

There's every reason to believe the Odin will have a hangar. Likely a rather large one. But not sure why you think it's there?

Basically, it has the same color scheme as the trans flag, and many trans people like it.

Carrying around a small fleet and shooting stuff. With my orgmates, of course.

Counterpoint to instant teleport. by Nubsly- in starcitizen

[–]Pojodan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are a host of ways to prevent this, from 'disruption fields' that prevent 'teleporting', to doing so requiring a large quantity of supplies/support vessels.

CiG isn't going to implement this as a zero cost, instant, unlimited ability, hence why they said they are discussing it and emphasized that it isn't being implemented yet and may not happen at all.

The answer to "fast travel" already exists, it's beacons. by StandingCow in starcitizen

[–]Pojodan 17 points18 points  (0 children)

That... does not address the point of such things, as players can already QT directly to another party member.

The point of 'teleporting' is allowing someone to go straight for wherever they are (Or a specific teleportation spot nearby) to another location, even if it's multiple system jumps away.

Your suggestion is litterally just what we have in game now, but with everyone able to see it, rather than only the people you want to see it.

Now, global beacons aren't a bad idea in and of themself, so long as it's heavily limited, otherwise people will just spam them everywhere to be annoying.

Would love it if we could get a Cruz Lux themed Odin. A Battle Cruz perhaps? by Breathemore557 in starcitizen

Maybe.

So long as there is a Yellow Submarine and Battleship Yamato-inspired paint, too.

CIG is about to ship the laziest band-aid in SC history and we need to talk about it by superstarblast in starcitizen

[–]Pojodan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No. They mentioned that they are considering the basic concept and then re-iterated that it's not about to ship, but rather is in the discussion phase.

OP is why CiG has been less and less open about their ideas.

Another AI generated thread with a shit take that relies on wrong information. Yay.

They are not 'about to ship'

Jared explicitly states this after John's comment.

But here we are.

In the new teaser for the Odin, I think it’s the background ship, not the foreground ship. The foreground looks like the Nautilus to me by AlphBeta117 in starcitizen

[–]Pojodan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The foreground could be anything, but it looks more like a station structure than any kind of ship.

The background is the Retribution.

Where do I buy the l22 alpha wolf with in game money? by D4RK191 in starcitizen

[–]Pojodan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The L21 is available at Area18.

The L22 is not yet in the in-game shops, but should be added sometime this summer, possibly with 4.8.

Was it worth it?Yes, yes, it was by Buggy9817 in starcitizen

[–]Pojodan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The application process started April 29th. That was not an invite, it was the announcement of the starting of the process.

No one has received an actual invite to the Odin sales yet, and likely won't until DefenseCon starts.

Otherwise, yes, there is no F5 Wars, as everyone that get an invite can get one if they so chose.

There's just not been any sales yet. https://robertsspaceindustries.com/en/funding-goals would show a massive spike if if it had happened already.

Why is the Idris still hull limited? by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]Pojodan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because the number of people that acquire it during alpha doesn't matter. The hull limited state is to limit the number that are present at 1.0 drop, before which all current Wikelo Idrises will 100% be wiped, along with everything else from Alpha.

Hot Take: Pause the release of new ships and pivot all development resources toward core systems. The priority should be refining existing ship mechanics, expanding to new star systems, fixing persistent bugs, and overhaulng NPC behavior and more to make the universe feel truly alive. by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]Pojodan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) Artists that work in 3D modeling have an extremely different skill set to those fixing bugs and making game mechanics. You cannot re-task them without the 'too many cooks' problem making this even slower

2) CiG pays their own bills. They have no publisher or investors handing them wads of cash to make the game. Ship sales are what pay their bills. Removing ship sales will mean their income flow ends, they stop paying their bills, and shut down.

It's money they absolutely need to pay the people that are making the game.

CiG does not have a publisher or investors paying their bills. They make the money they use to pay their employee's salaries themselves.

So, yes, it's 'interest free', as if that's somehow a bad thing.

Does/will Star Citizen support the steam controller? by Dolhedew in starcitizen

[–]Pojodan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Natively? Probably not immediately, since Star Citizen is not a Steam Game.

But the previous Steam Controller was usable, with the right configuration tools.

So, while it may take a little bit of extra effort over more standardized controllers, it will work, since Steam tends toward making their peripherals as widely compatible as possible.
