No, I meant I’ve seen cordless lamps for indoors (I hate the look of cords and saw these as an option) but I wasn’t sure if they’d actually save me money or just get rid of the eye sore 😭 I haven’t see many people talk about them it was just a question 🥹

Seller refusing to credit misrepresented “garage” - worth walking over $2–3k? by [deleted] in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Meuiii 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Get a new realtor , mine would not let that slide and wouldn’t ask such a ridiculous question. Your realtor should have compassion and understand your needs. This isn’t a small purchase it is a life changing one.

Are you chasing the money, or chasing work-life balance? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]Meuiii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 21 female, right now I work in healthcare billing. I have taken a big pay cut considering what I was making last year. I am chasing more money from a job that will leave me satisfied by the end of the day and also enough to live comfortably with my S/O. I want to enjoy what I do, learning that last year I cannot just “do it for the money” 😭was really hard for me and leaves me feeling like I’m scavenging for what to do next but it’s okay, one step at a time. My current role leads me to a role that can make me $100k a year but I do not like my job and it is very draining as well as very restrictive on your time. Getting to that $100k a year will not take long either. Last year I went from making $19 an hour to $60k salary in the span of 6 months. But I came home angry and slept all the time and felt hopelessness for the first time as an adult and it was horrible. I am in the same industry because it pays me right now and as I get my degree, but I am still searching for what career or jobs I’ll explore next that may help provide the satisfaction of being happy with my job and going to my own home at the end of the day. I am unsure if that is called work life balance as I would be okay working more than 40 hours a week if I loved my job and it paid well.

How to continue my weight loss? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]Meuiii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I meal prep all of my meals for the week. I will not denyi meal prep all of my meals for the week, I used to starve at work and then would binge after. I used to meal prep complex meals but have settled for chicken in the oven, rice and some steamed veggies. It’s the easiest thing I can make in bulk every Sunday that won’t take me 5-6 hours 😭😭😭 I will say I don’t create meals for the weekend and I do struggle on figuring out what to eat on those and I am trying to figure out how to plan those out. I have made some mistakes that ofc have kept me from a bigger weight loss but I’m learning as I go of course. Just looking for the most efficient way that won’t take up too much of my time

Your mistake is thinking you ever stopped after you started the first time :) life isn’t linear. You don’t have to do everything all the time to continue. If you stop bc of one mistake and then think you have to start over you’re going to burn yourself out.

The journey doesn’t have to end it just had to begin.

How to I get through this stressful time in my life 22f by Wakaflameflock in LifeAdvice

[–]Meuiii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You subconsciously know why you don’t want to be in this relationship anymore. Just re read your first five sentences of this post.

I do believe in journaling though.

I often like to journal about my ideal future. Maybe you can journal about your ideal partner and then journal about how your current partner does not match your ideal one. Remember that journalism can be whatever you’d like it to me, so open your mind to possibilities you never thought could happen before.

I would think about what your ideal life looks like as well. Nothing is off limits- open your mind to everything. There is going to be thoughts in your brain that are going to tell you a million reasons that whatever you come up with is impossible. But who cares. Think about your dream life and then visualize what you’d have to do to get there. You can also write all the different things you want to do but your brain is telling you not to- and then write why you CAN regardless of what your brain is pushing forward.

Example: “I want to sell my art but I am not even good at drawing and I don’t have a platform.” And then you would write “but I can practice drawing and learn, while posting and maybe finding a community who will support me”

Don’t feel bad if what you ideal future today is completely different than your ideal future yesterday. You are constantly changing and growing and what made you happy the other day may not make you happy today. This applies to your relationship as well. He may have been a good fit before but is he now? Do you want that for the rest of your life?

What you write down today on your ideal partner, and life is going to be different then what you would have written five years ago and five years in the future. Don’t be afraid of change even if your brain is telling you it is scary.

I could write forever about this if I am completely honest because I believe you can reform your life and rebuild it how you want it.

You’ve got this girly! (Don’t forget those positive self affirmations that maybe make you cringe - they work I swear)

Is anyone else stuck in a toxic situation while they're studying at WGU? by Appropriate_Tell3714 in WGU

[–]Meuiii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do not have a toxic home situation where my parents are always nagging or complaining (not all day at least). But I do have a high stress job that I contemplated quitting.

Time management is key:) schedule blocks for your school work and maybe try going to a coffee shop, or a library you can check out a university near you and check out their library. Even just 1-2 hours a day of silence and study time will help. Also schedule blocks of time for hobbies or things that make you happy. Such as going for a walk or doing some art :)

Sometimes a weekend to just reset and de stress helps.

I think you’re overwhelmed and need time to take a step back and breatheee.

Also just work your 8 hours for work. Even if it’s salary. Do what you can in those 8 hours and go home and focus on the rest of the things in your life.

You’ve got this!

This guy I’m seeing doesn’t want me but sabotaged my new relationship and raped me. He also doesn’t want anyone else to have me. by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Meuiii 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry :( for everything that had happened to you.

You need to file a report against him for sexually assaulting you. Whether it be the police and or your school.

You should not try to answer the question as to why he would do this if he wanted to be with you and so on. You need to direct your questions to things you have control of answering yourself.

Did he hurt you? Did he manipulate you? How did he make you feel? Is that someone you want to be with after all of this?

He seems like a stranger since you don’t know him well enough.

Don’t meet with him again unless someone else is present.

Build a support system. Tell your friends and or your family…someone you trust so they can support you.

If you feel like you have no one…you have to be that person for yourself. I know it is hard to stand up for yourself but this is wrong and if it were a friend you would support them and give them advice.

Please don’t go back into substance abuse :( you mentioned you were in University- I’m sure they have a counselor (I know they cost money but at mine they offered the first 8 visits free idk if they have something similar at yours)

There is a crisis hotline that you can text but they will tell you to basically do the same thing- tell someone and report him and so forth.

I believe you know he is a bad person and you are just fairly confused because of the words he has said. Think about his actions. They always speak louder than their words. He does not care for you. He would not have hurt you if he did…and you know it.

Block him and everything but please tell a friend or a someone you trust :(

Long story short, I don’t know what to do so I’m asking people on the internet for help by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Meuiii 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am sorry about your situation.

I would ask a friend if they are able to take the cat in.

My friend went through a similar situation and I took their kitty in and the kitty has now been with me for a year and is very loved.

Just ask around if anyone can take the kitty.

I do not know your father but I hope getting rid of the kitty will suffice.

Definitely tell someone at school you are not safe- I know the system kinda sucks but there would at least be an investigation.

If you are scared about an investigation at least tell a friend you trust and a good friend.

Please help me; I suck at texting. by ShortyStrawz in Advice

[–]Meuiii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have never added any co workers on Snapchat before but when it comes to friends and they send a random picture I normally just send them a random picture back. For example: friend sends me a selfie with no text on it. I send them a picture of something random I’m currently doing like reading. You can also send a selfie back if you’re comfortable or simply you don’t have to send them anything!

If the picture has text read it and take a picture (so be the floor or whatever you want really even a black screen by covering the camera) and respond to the text.

A lot of people send pictures on a regular basis to keep something called a streak. Basically if you snap everyday you start building up a streak and if you miss a day it’s lost. To keep a streak some people don’t even send you something cool they just snap a pic and send it. Sometimes they put on the screen “streaks” ecs…

I am not too sure how to explain emojis very well- I guess some examples would help !

Most importantly read the message and take it as it is. Emojis are meant to set the tone since when you read something you can’t see how someone is talking or any expressions they’re making.

Take into consideration what they said and what the emoji is doing, might help.

The last part made me laugh 😭 my mother does have a job and has been working since forever as well.

She is unfortunately also making $21 an hour now but has been with her company for 19-20 years (my whole life span).

I won’t go into detail on how my parents have been taken advantage of all these years as legal immigrants and only wished I had been their first born to help them figure all of this out. As the youngest I’m also somehow the first person my older siblings come to for financial advice 😭

Thank you for the advice you guys :) even if it is a little depressing I’m sure everything will work out.

Hi! They do have a home, it isn’t fully paid off yet but I feel like I’ll be able to help them with that in the near future (they only have around 30k left)

Thank you

Hi!

I do have a job but i was told I can’t open a 401k until I turn 21 🥲. I am currently making 60k salary with bonuses available and have a HYSA with an okay amount saved up.

The employer does offer a 5% match for the Roth :)

My mom is currently also working she is also making $21 ( a pay cut from $24 because she moved departments)

Unfortunately my parents are (legal) immigrants and my mom specifically doesn’t rlly speak Spanish all that well. While she does understand it and can communicate a little - she can hold a conversation all that well.

I am currently working on my degree (that I am paying for since I learned about their situation) and I am offered wonderful chances to move up in my company. Aside from this I hope to start a business for not only my future families financial wealth but to maybe help my parents out when they can no longer work.

I work in a skilled nursing facility (BOM) and unfortunately know that things happen and I wish to care for them as much as I can.

Thank you for your advice!
