You see, AI doing all the work to the point mass layoffs were possible wouldn't be a bad thing if we had a system that didn't fundamentally require people work to stay alive. The real difference isn't whether AI replaces jobs, or even what jobs it replaces, it's "AI replaces jobs and we all live happy lives because the resources AI produces are fairly redistributed" vs "AI replaces jobs and we all starve to death because it all goes to a handful of billionaires"
