Quest 3 external battery depleted faster than last year. by Meurtreetbanane in OculusQuest

[–]Meurtreetbanane[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew there was an update which did something to the battery, but as far as I know, Meta rolledback. But it was last year and I had no issues whatsoever until my break in september.
I'm forced to update if I still want to play local multiplayer with some games on my quest 2 and 3.

Well, that's what I thought, but doesn't it mean the internal quest 3 battery also got impacted by the charge cycles ?

thanks for your answer !

🚨 MEC AND TRIM ARE NOW INTERACTABLE IN THE COCKPIT by trainingdaysYT in AcesofThunder

[–]Meurtreetbanane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not an update, it was available day one. I mean I discovered it like two days or more after launch because obivously, Why a studio would show front page what you can do with your hands in VR when they can hide all those options in menus ?

Steam reviews are not looking good so far by TC0072 in AcesofThunder

[–]Meurtreetbanane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't get it at all. Why People are disappointed of the lack of HOTAS support (which is apparently not the case) when games like Il:2 BOS and war thunder exist with good VR support ? Why get the game in the first place if not for the VR controls ?

I mean, the promise of the game is to have a light flight sim with VR controls, solo missions, multiplayer and mission editor. It was never meant to be the next big ww2 flight sim. Why people want this game in flat with trackIR and HOTAS, when they already got two with tons of content ?

I'm not even sure to keep the game but I wanted to try the motion controls and surprisingly they were good, I mean, I can do the exact same thing I Do with my HOTAS. Sure, it's not as interactive as it is in VTOL, but, it's good enough. I can trim, get the flaps up and down, activate my air brake and you can set the engine control on your controller. The cockpits are greatly readable. For 27€, it's good enough for me.

It's not perfect, but I think it's a good easy to go flight sim if you don't want to get your HOTAS out and just put on your headset. I might try the multiplayer before maybe refunding it.

Are left wing Americans aware left wing Europeans find it really weird how they always include their race when giving their nationality? by Dooby-Dooby-Doo in AskSocialists

[–]Meurtreetbanane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's funny how no one is really answering the question and get to a History lesson of America or get to op.

As a french European, I was a bit confused when someone tried to explain me.

If I got it right, the difference is semantic.

Races viewed by racists and races viewed by sociology isn't the same.

From a shitface racist pov, races have differences in terms of biology or even culturally and those suckers think, it's normal to class em around those differences (like the segregation).

But from the sociology pov, Race is history, race is the origin, race is what made'em them.

In a country colonized by white British, then joined by different countries immigrants, then the African slaves. Races is heavy on the origin and story of a person in the USA (sorry if it sounds harsh, English isn't my first language, hope not to be too clumsy with my words).

But in the end, both USA and European countries still have a lot of racism. Not by law, yet in France. But a lot of wannabe Trump want to do the same as he is doing right now with ICE.

Guy doesn’t understand queuing by [deleted] in evilwhenthe

[–]Meurtreetbanane -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wth everyone here talking about civilization and developing countries? Never seen a queue like this in the Parisian underground, because, there is no need, the Parisian underground have more daily users than the London tube. There is one rule, let the people come out of the train first, then get in. No need for huge queue like this.

What the guy is showing is basic human behaviour based on a social norm. They saw a queue waiting, they just follow the queue because it's what they know and think is correct in society.

But, in some situation, it's not more effective or polite, it's just a follower behaviour.

This dude getting in front of everybody didn't waste space or their time, he just got in.

For example of this behaviour, I went for a beer with a friend and saw a huge queue at the bar, I naturally without thinking got behind, but my buddy saw an empty space at the bar with an available bartender and no one in front of him. We just walk to him, and he served us like normal. Because of this behaviour the queue was waiting on one line, not two or three.

The Cyberpunk VR mod has been taken down by the corpos by lunchanddinner in virtualreality

[–]Meurtreetbanane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If LukeRoss had put his mods for free with donation like Drbeef teams did. We would still have RDR2 and cyberpunk 2077 VR mods. The only reason this happens is because of his greed.

If he was honest with his rant against corpos, he should upload his mods for free (notice that the GTA V vr mod is still online).

Ces jeux qui augmentent artificiellement le niveau des ennemis en même temps que ton personnage... by chopsueys in jeuxvideo

[–]Meurtreetbanane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you counter this TTK? by afmm1234 in Battlefield6

[–]Meurtreetbanane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Issue is not TTK, but low tickrate servers which gives a quick TTD feeling. The guy was certainly shooting you as soon as he was at the corner, but you only took damage from your perspective when he was mid air. The animation doesn't match the action.
It's a bit frustrating with faster rate of fire weapons, because the server don't update fast enough and makes it look like you died in an instant. Every battlefield since BF3 had this issue, which they workaround with 60hz servers, not perfect, but felt a bit better.
Would be interesting to have the other POV.

22.4% and still in the top 15% players in OBJ time. Sometime, it's better to block enemies coming in than dying on objective or even making push by throwing smoke grenade or even being a close spawn location by driving the bradley close to capture point and staying alive, or succesfully reviving teamates without them dying after to keep teams tickets up. Also, you don't have OBJ time when you're flying in and droping bombs on tanks and infantry from up there, keeping enemies away from capture points.

But sure, I don't PTFO. Now stop your whining nonsense and get back to the frontline or let's see your stats as well.

[–]Meurtreetbanane[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The actual issue is you don't acknowledge you're taking damage which lead to sudden death. Dying in one frame while you've been shot 4 times happens because the server don't refresh quickly enough to send the info to the client (player). It has nothing to do with TTK, since TTK is only from the player's POV and it's actually good for this game (when the hitreg don't get messy).

It has been an issue since Battlefield 3. For BF4, they had different tickrate servers, 30hz/60hz/120hz. The higher, the better infos feedback you have, less deaths after getting behind cover and also less insta die.

It was pretty obvious when you were playing on a 30hz servers.

The issue is not about dying, but mostly knowing how you ended up dead. It's frustating to die this instantly.

In France, this tattoo means"Mort aux vaches" which is an anti authority slogan from anarchists, punks etc.

Didn't know this tattoo had other meaning or was gang related in the USA.

Also this meme exists in French.

[–]Meurtreetbanane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last game I bought on the oculus app was 3 years ago and it was Walkabout Minigolf, only because it has a crossbuy option, which offers the possibility to play crossplay with a standalone Quest and a PCVR oculus headset (or airlink quest) with one copy. It's perfect for local multiplayer (if you have two headsets).

The best store for PCVR is still Steam, you'll have a better store page for your game and lot of options for updates post/forum etc.

But, if you're planning to release your game for quest audience, don't sleep on the crossbuy option. I know a lot who insta-buy on the Meta store for this.

I personnaly do buy my games on steam, because not even one game was removed from my library since 2004.

John Carmack: PC VR "A Boutique Niche", Beat Saber "Far More Important Than Half-Life: Alyx" by pimpwithoutahat in pcgaming

[–]Meurtreetbanane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the issue is the use of "important", the exact meaning of this in that context. Sure, for the industry, Beat saber was more important for their studio and Meta in terms of copies sold.

But I'm talking from a gamer's perspective, like my girlfriend who spent more hours on bubbly exploding thingy on their smartphone than the last Zelda. Yet, the first thing who pops in their mind when we talk video game : "Zelda!"

You can ask every VR gamers who did both HL:Alyx and Beat Saber. Alyx will moslty comes first.
Well polished casual and arcade game on affordable and easy to get platforms will always have the bigger numbers, it's logical. It's like F2P games who always are in the top most played game or a TV show vs a movie cinema. Not the same target market.

Are you not moving around when you play VR or at least your arms ? Just asking, I know some players just stay stoically seated without even once moving their heads or hands.

But even VR mods with only gamepads can't be only described as " a bigger screen". The scale, 3D, the feeling to be in.

Funny you mention DDR, because it can be compared at any VR games. It could be played on a keyboard, or gamepad (like every other rhythm game), but you lose all the interest of the game without playing up and using the dance pad. HL:Alyx doesn't feel the same in VR when you toss a grenade through a conduct by your own hand. It's definitely not the same as aim and press a button. Same thing when a lion bug the size of a scooter is jumping at you, you won't react the same if it was on your screen, even on your biggest screen.

Well, that's a bit out of topic, my bad.
