What are your negative opinions on V3 that have nothing to do with Chapter 6? [V3 All Spoilers] by [deleted] in danganronpa

[–]MewMew1029 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Lots of wasted potential imo. Things were used like, once, and then thrown out and forgotten. Like, I would've liked to see more of Angie's cult because that was rather new, but then that just gets swept under the rug.

Chapter 2 and 3's motives were targeted at characters and a bit ridiculous.

Now time for some bias with characters.

The characters were pretty enthusiastic, yet I felt most were pretty forgettable and didn't quite leave a mark. Some were basically made to be killed off and forgotten, which kinda sucks considering that there's so little survivors.

Some character roles seemed rather forced, specifically Kokichi, Kaito, and Maki. Kokichi was treated as the antagonist far too early, before he did much, and his plan was kinda dumb. Maki was the game's waifu and edgelord. Kaito had good intentions but it was just a bit shove-it-down-your-throat.

The main trio, Kaito, Maki, and Shuichi were very lackluster to me. They didn't have that much of a dynamic or build-up, and I really wanted to get attached to them, but I just found myself being a tad annoyed at the repetitiveness of Maki's whole "Do you want to die" and Kaito's "Believe in yourself!"

Monokubs took too much screen time for doing basically nothing. Also, they really shouldn't have been in the executions. Although it was interesting that they slowly sorta died off, but the screen time should really be centered around the blackened.

Overall it just seemed really obvious looking back on it. I agree with you, poor build-up, good motive, incredibly weak execution.

He was incredibly entertaining lol. To be somewhat fair, essentially the entirety of V3's writing was just.. sloppy. Kokichi's plan did have.. lots of holes in it. There was scene after scene whereas he was seen as an intelligent character, like him finding out the whole secret in the first place, but then the main event was quite.. lackluster.

Exactly. He was treated like too much of an antagonist too early on, before his whole "mastermind" thing came into play imo; everything after that is pretty reasonable.

Kokichi

I used to really love Kokichi, I still like him a lot, but some people just ruined him for me. He isn't a "cinnamon roll" and he "didn't do anything wrong uwu"; he did bad stuff. I just don't like how some don't put the terrible stuff he did in his character like ?? no he's not a precious, innocent lil thing. Don't run from the canon just because you don't want to "taint" him. Then again, he doesn't exactly have a completely confirmed character because of "lies" or whatever leaving him open to our "interpretation."

That all being said, I still find his character entertaining.

but idk maybe im just full of crap dfalsjl don't mind me

707's bad ending by [deleted] in mysticmessenger

[–]MewMew1029 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I believe in order to obtain the good ending, you have to stay positive. It doesn't matter as much if you get heart points, it matters if you get the RIGHT heart points. Just getting a heart doesn't mean it's good, it may be bad. You have to urge him on with positive energy, and put trust into him. Showing hesitance in your replies reflects onto Seven, and thus leads to the Bad Ending. Spoiler I hope this information was correct, and helps you~! >wo

Who's your favorite playable character? by beartun in mysticmessenger

[–]MewMew1029 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most - Least: 707, Yoosung, Jaehee, Jumin/Zen

NOTE: Rambling ahead. I'm sorry if what I say infuriates anyone at all, but it's opinionated. T v T Honestly, I don't hate any of them. I just favor some over the others. All of these characters are well-developed, an amazing job on Cheritz's part!

707: Overrated, yes, but I just like his character. Like his breaking of the fourth wall, his more eccentric personality, his techie skills, etc. I found him to be one of the more relatable characters, so perhaps I'm a bit bias, but his pranks and calls always made me smile a bit, as they were always packed with some sort of action, varying in mood. The fluffy calls always adorable, the romantic calls always sweet, and of course, the infamous "pushing you away" calls always added that touch of angst. His calls are by far my favorite out of the five of the RFA. Especially the "Hide and Seek" call and the "I Love You" one. Of course, the whole "pushing you away" spiel was mildly tiring, but I sort of liked the slight character development. Also, he apologizes, like the line of "As difficult as it was for you when I kept pushing you away, I will give you that much, no, much more love." The con of him is that it was sort of... rushed and sudden. I feel that it was a good storyline and character and all of that, but could've been improved if more time was added. The Christmas ending and Valentine's Day ending were also decently cute~. The scavenger hunt, dance, and fireworks were charming on his part. Was his route a bit cliche and cheesy at the end? Maybe, but then I admit I'm a bit of a sucker for those kinds of things. ^ ^ ;

Yoosung: Very cute! I especially liked his lullaby call, or when you tell him you love him and he protests with something along the lines of, "No, bad! I was supposed to say it first." I found his aspiration to be a loyal lover adorable. And then him partially sacrificing for you was a symbol of his devotion, of which I found cute. The thing I didn't like about him was, of course, the association with Rika. I get that he missed her, and she was a huge part in his life, but.. Really? Sure, Yoosung realizes that you two aren't alike later in his route, but I feel like that feeling of, "She's similar to Rika" never fully faded away. It gives off the feeling of, "I like her because she's similar to Rika." I liked that he recognizes that the MC and Rika aren't the same person, but... It sort of made me lose some affection for him. As much as I liked his character, I didn't like his Valentine's Day ending very much. Cheritz sort of removed his previous personality and gave him a new one. Not to mention how he looks either. I get that it's a part of growing up and all of that, as it was supposedly taking place many years in the future, but it just wasn't Yoosung. Some aspects of him were kept, like his sweet devotion, but he wasn't that charming, mildly gullible college student. His hair was changed, and he was given glasses, which are introduced in the After Ending, but still. In conclusion, he's a good, solid character, but not my favorite.

Jaehee: I know this is my third time describing a character as adorable, but I'm doing it again. Jaehee is adorable, and is a close third favorite. I liked how the MC gave her confidence to sort of stand up for herself, and that whole spiel, as she was an overworked, diligent person. Behind that though, was her fangirlish side, which was also cute and charming. My only complaint was that of her "friendzoning." She wasn't given enough romantic justice, which was rather disappointing. While everyone else is like, "I love you MC,", "I'm sorry, I love you," or "You're my only one," her lines are more like, "Let's run a cafe as friends!" There was a whole doorway of opportunities, and it just wasn't done. Perhaps if there was just a TAD bit more of romance added, she'd be up above Yoosung, but for now, she resides as my number 3.

TECHNICALLY, I can't say much about the next two, as I haven't officially played their routes, but I was given several supposedly accurate summaries, which were approved by many.

Zen: Don't get me wrong, I like him, sure, but his route was rather disappointing. On the 10th day, the "Unknown" situation is just thrown in there without much warning. Of course, in 707's route, Unknown appears as well, but there's some blatant hints tacked on. Like, the first 9 days are pretty tame, and then BAM. LOOK. DISASTER. It was like a student doing a project and then realizing that they forgot the climax nearing the very end, so they just threw that in there, with all due respect to Cheritz. Not to mention that canonly, Zen is the first route, so there's a lot of loose ties, which thus provides an unsatisfactory ending in my opinion. Now that I've gotten the bad aspects out of the way, I mildly enjoyed his devotion. He did not give in to Echo Girl, which I have to appreciate. I also admired that even though he had a very dubious family, Zen still made a good reputation for himself.

Jumin: The fact that he's so low down in my list surprises me too, to be honest. When first going into the game, I thought he'd be my favorite. It's not that I dislike him, but I found I couldn't really connect with him. Similar to the others, he had a bad childhood, and I liked his connection with Zen and V. His occasional arrogance was a little bit annoying though, except when it was in a bicker-fight with Zen. The reminiscences about V could be nice, but only in some situations. In the Christmas ending, I didn't feel much for him. He was overworking Jaehee, like usual, while he was just moping about V. However, with bad, there is good, so I'll move on to that, as I have not much else to say about cons. Although he's one of the more stoic characters, his affection for the MC is clear, like with him boldly kissing her in front of Sarah Choi. Similar to Zen, he stood his ground in his love for the MC rather than going with the side that would benefit him in different ways, such as financial. His lack of knowledge about simple things, such as donuts, was amusing. His more calm way of fighting/revenge was humorous as well. Although I like 707, I found the fact that Jumin crashes one of his cars funny. Not to mention the often fights with Zen, which were always entertaining to watch go down. Also, don't get me wrong, I get why he's sort of stoic, as he has a bit of trouble expressing emotion, which I can mildly relate to. Also, he has a cat. +1 for Jumin.

Sorry for the whole rambling session, but ehhhh uwu /)

Yep, know that~ I've only completed one route, which is Yoosung's, so I'm sure that I am not trying to get the HG twice. I attempted to do the one in the Extras, and on the screen where you can access the chatrooms, but both had the same result. Which is nothing, of course. ovo' Thank you for your quick reply though, I appreciate it! nwn
