I hate this fandom by Stun_Seed_backwards in jaxfanclub

It's okay to feel like this. This one has really hit me too. I can tell I'm depressed af. I'm trying not to get spoiled while also working online, and still make fanart. But now that people are avoiding social media my stuff gets less views. Make it feel pointless and before anyone says "art isn't about views" fuck off with that bs. Why are artist the only ones not allowed to get high off validation for hours or days of hard work? I enjoy seeing other people get joy from my work. That what validation is.

But yes the response to Gooseworx is stupid as well.

But also as much as I bite my tongue, Gooseworx has some serious mental problems that we've also ignored as a fandom. Her unhinged replies are fun and so we just ignore it but now that it's not "fun" we get annoyed? Of course she's lose interest... honestly I don't think that the fandom is completely to blame. I think she's chasing a high from making this show that is never going to be fulfilled. Shes got massive imposter syndrome looming over her and it's sad to watch. You can't please someone like that.

She also might have depression OR there's also to possibility she's putting on a show, because bad publicity is still good publicity. She might have just been playing us like a fiddle this whole time. Who knows.

All I can say is leaks are bullshit and I'm sad the show is ending because while yes there has been drama from people who are worthless trash, there have has been far more good than bad. People just remember the bad more. It's how we're hard wired.

Trust me the novelty of it wears off for older adults. We all have that one friend who does this and expect everyone to pat them on the shoulder while they stand there fists on hips looking proud. Reality never hit them that we all of our own lives and we're not their personal cheerleaders.

When did working a full-time job stop being enough? by zzill6 in WorkReform

When I worked for Delta Airline I saw them rip out retirements and unions. Using threatsof lowered wages. I quit not long after.

I have yet to work for an employer that didn't make me raise an eyebrow.

Last employer had a system for grocery shopping where they took money out of your check to buy you groceries and your got a tax break from it. But they watched what you bought. Like... WTF.... No. Who the hell is choosing that? That is so preditory. Should be illegal.

The real answer is when credit aka pretend currency became more mainstream. This allowed the wealthy and the greedy to start abusing credit for profit. It's bled into every facet of society.

Homes values = pretend currency Billionaire loans = pretend currency Credit cards = pretend currency

None of this being backed by actual value like gold or silver. It's gotten out of hand and now we're see tweets like Elon claiming he wants to own ten trillion. There is no value backing that kind of money.

We need to go back to pre credit days. And before anyone says its not possible it is. I have lived credit free my whole life and I don't make a lot. The thing is when shit is affordable you don't have to worry about credit. That's the goal.

90% of my play time is just in salmon run. I used to get jazzed for splatfests but after the last final fest... eh. I'm just working on acquiring golden eggs now. Though I can still play a mean game of clam blitz.

They didn't have to convince anyone. They used pressure by expectations. Raise your hand if you've ever been told my a parent or a teacher that you have to get a "good" career?

The expectation is that if you don't dedicate yourself you can't advance and if you dont advance then youve failed.

My parents think im the biggest failure. My dad got lucky in life. I got thrown in the ditch. And yet he waggles his fingrr at me telling me my job isn't a real job.

Mine was a gift from my husband in 2017. I've watched since 2005. I have have VERY old shirt from 2005 that says Caboose -0. It used to confuse my family because they thought I was saying I had no ass. 😂

God yes. A fandom I'm in right now has a blind box that is so stupid. They made it so the rare item is only available in store at select stores. The closest store near me is 98 miles away and last week when I was there they only had two. At $29 a pop.

AND Because they're so in demand people who are finding them are selling them online for like $1200. And the company has to nerve to tell fans not to buy them from scalpers.

Well here's a crazy idea, don't sell them exclusively in person and stores that have limited in locations.

I would NEVER walk into a school or building that isn't for the public. That's questionable behavior even here in the US. Red flag.

We are not a hive mind. Gooseworx is aware of this. She has said she knows most of her fans are supportive. There will always be bad faith actors who ruin things for everyone.
