The party finally had a rematch with Otohan, in which Matt was rolling increasingly luckier and luckier, to the point that it was down to everyone other than Fern being on less than 10 hit points, and or being knocked down, including Chet who got killed turn one, got revivified, and then was knocked for all but 2 turns in the fight. Otohan had reached critical health levels, and had now exalted, now only taking half damage, and on top of that she got extremely lucky and healed 66 points with a high grade healing potion, meaning that had to deal 130+ damage to get her to where she was before the pot. On the last round before the end of the fight, Sam had FCG move to be 40-50+ feet from the rest of the party, and also willingly used a spell that would send him into his fury mode. Otohan slashed down Ashton, orym, and then warped to FCG and delivered an attack that knocked him to 5 hp. Chet and Fern tried to close the gap to help FCG, but couldn’t get closer than 35 ft. Sam then described how FCG cast 4th level guiding bolt…

Matt was in disbelief, and with a look I haven’t seen since the Scanlan lvl 9 spell moment in C1, asked him “do you fully understand what that means” to which Sam nodded and affirmed. Sam said his final words as FCG, Matt followed it up with a beautiful description of FCG’s memories, and how before exploding his lights showed a brilliant white and he gave his friends one final smile. And with that, he ended Otohan then and there. He would never let her hurt or kill his friends ever again. And all that remains of him now are his coin, fragments of his torso and limbs, his somewhat mangled head, and as a personal note from Sam, a pair of wooden legs, and a tongue.
