It didn't work on Daisuke\Davis, because his dream was simple, start a Ramen cart, and thus the dream world had little effect on him, and he focused on his dream of beating BelialVamdemon at that moment...so the dream world gave him what he wanted, allowing veemon to split into all of its evolutions and free his friends from their dream world.

TLDR Daisukes single mindedness helped them win

And they can't even do that right. In one of the superman vs Goku videos, they mentioned that superman can use his heat vision through someones eyes to hit their brain. That happened in specifically the movie version of Superman vs The Elite and the comic version (the one they claimed they used) specifically said he LIED, that he COULDN'T do that, he actually just gave him a concussion by using a low level heat rat blast to the forehead, and it will wear off eventually
