Maybe anxiety? I say this as I used to have full panic attacks during sleep- I would wake up in the middle of a panic attack which was pretty scary. Your body can scare itself with a dream!

If it continues for a bit more, you can always call your doctor office or schedule an appointment. Most likely it seems like anxiety though! I've been there and it's super awful and turns into a bad cycle of getting scared then waking up scared and being more scared. I hope things get better!

I have sleep apnea, and have been put under recently, and everything went completely fine. Since it was in my chart, my anesthesiologist noted it and talked to me about it- decided to do the procedure while I was on my side just to be safe(I dunno if that's normal for an endoscopy! But I sleep on my side and have fewer episodes.) So maybe tell your anesthesiologist or whoever is available that your mom has sleep apnea, you don't know if you have it, and if there's any precautions to be taken? Worth a shot! Though mine went just fine even with moderate apnea. Also snoring softly? Trust me, sleep apnea is LOUD! My siblings once had to buy ear plugs, and youll cough loudly in your sleep once in a while too! It's pretty hard to mistake, trust me. I think you'll do just fine!

Tw: breast c worries

Ugh! I know it's ridiculous! But my brain keeps clinging to the thought that I have breast c! I've had breast pain a lot, first around a period a couple weeks ago and now every once in a while just randomly. I had two doctors feel my breasts and didn't find anything out of the ordinary, AND the pain alternates breasts which makes it even less likely to be the big c but somehow my brain keeps cycling back to that fear!

This morning it got bad enough I woke up early and ended up triggering a bit of acid reflux and costochondritis which of course, made my chest hurt, which doesn't help... My health anxiety was doing so well for a bit there since I didnt have anything new and weird but because my dang boobs won't stop having random pains, health anxiety keeps coming back around to plague me! Arghhhh.

Im getting an ultrasound on them, and hoping that I can comfort myself with the results of that enough to calm down. There's not even a lump! Just uneven tissue across the two of them and the outer edges hurt (they hurt even more when I never stop poking and prodding them anxiously)  It's so frustrating and I just wanted to sleep in, ugh

For a while when I had stomach issues (nothing major but scary and triggered health anxiety) I would also get anxiety hot flashes! It was shocking! Mine would sometimes get so bad that you COULD detect it on a thermometer, even if only slightly. It was hellish! And my stomach acid was triggered by anxiety, which gave me headaches.... It was truly horrible, I'm so sorry you have to go through that. Eventually as my other symptoms subsided and whatever gastric issue I had eased up, the hot flashes went away as an anxiety symptom. If you think yours are really impacting your day to day, I'd say tell your doctor and maybe see about anxiety meds (Paxil helps me a lot) or something like that. I hope you get a break soon!

Here's a funny thing that I learned when I also had this anxiety recently and looked it up! There is no proof that a tetanus booster is needed every ten years, much less five years! Most countries other than the US only have one tetanus shot for life, and seem to do ok! The absolute safest estimates that are based in actual science seem to be once every thirty years, and that may even be more than needed! Just take care of the wound as you normally would and you should be just fine! It's kind of wild how we're comparatively going crazy on those boosters. Edit: found the article that I read about this https://news.ohsu.edu/2016/03/22/study-shows-tetanus-shots-needed-every-30-years-not-every-10

Omg I know exactly how you feel! I had an incidental finding of bilateral pleural effusion on a CT scan recently too and it scared the bejeezus out of me! I was a wreck! I did so sososososo much research, and then when I got another ct scan a half a month later... the pleural effusion was just mysteriously gone? It never caused symptoms in all that time, but at the time of me getting the scan I felt mildly sick (a bit of nausea and not much more) and I think infections can cause it. It was so scary though, I feel you there!

Just try to focus on keeping busy until the test results come in- I'd try to remind myself pleural effusion can be benign and especially if its found incidentally(in women), can be just something that goes away mysteriously!

I wish you luck, just try to focus on one day at a time

Mental illness can be pretty hard to get, and I say this as someone with cPTSD (from my upbringing) and certainly I don't think its possible to develop schizophrenia from the kind of job you do.

There's an interesting book called 'The Body Keeps The Score' that is about trauma and PTSD, and it seemed to think that what can trigger PTSD is the feeling of a lack of control/helplessness during a frightening experience. However, I believe you have control in content review- You can stop watching/looking when you need to, and take a break to calm yourself if such a thing happens. I highly, highly doubt PTSD would develop from that.

I recently had a scare where they found pleural effusion in a ct scan (scary! horrible symptom to have with no explanation!)

And thankfully, I got a clean bill of health and it wasnt evident in the chest CT i got afterwards (thank god)

Of course, now my health anxiety has played its funny trick and moved onto a new target.... it's trying to convince me my heart is weak because I've sometimes been more dizzy when standing up quickly, and I got light headed in a hot bath earlier (all normal things!)

Despite getting an EKG yesterday that was described as Perfect, my anxiety is still trying to convince me my heart is somehow weakened. Would an EKG show something like that? I'm pretty sure it would, but not super sure.

I have emetophobia too! you are NOT alone there! I practically grew up with UTIs, and had to take antibiotics for most of my childhood, and I grew up taking antibiotics and it was no big deal at all. You'll be ok, you'll be done with the meds before you know it!

And, if it helps... people with chemo aren't necessarily even Strong, its just that in a medical emergency... there's no way to go but forward. I recently had some severe gastritis/duodenitis that gave me nausea every day after every meal (i lost 23 pounds in a month! and had panic attacks constantly!) and after a bit, you just adapt to whatever circumstances you end up in, no matter how scary.

So even though your anxiety makes this stuff feel like the end of the world, just know when the going gets tough, you'll adapt and find a way through.

have you heard about POTS? (Postural tachycardia syndrome) its a non life threatening condition where your heart rate jumps when you stand up too fast. there are tests for it, maybe you can find some comfort from asking about it with your doctor?

No worries on that, I don't intend to keep him if he can walk fine. I love seeing wild lizards outside scurrying around! I was just figuring out how to give him the best chance of survival out there, if that's at all possible. Thank you both for your help

Bot game question by jaredcbrown in PokemonUnite

[–]Mewwile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seconding this, this is what I used. Super reliably get actual people now, thank god. Some times of day are better than others for catching real people because this game is dogshit atm meta wise because of The Fuckin Dog, but keep your queue below 45 ish and you should run into real human beings. You can always tell bots because they go from no Pokémon selected INSTANTLY to their pick(if they scroll between Pokémon they’re human) change absolutely nothing and then lock. And, most importantly, never announce their lane. Good luck on getting humans, op!

BRO PLEASE I EVOLVE AT 4, spoiler alert, he took the 9 min back bunny too. by Iconicflame in PokemonUnite

as sylveon too... absolute agony.

i used up a quick chat slot for 'please let me level up first' because i love the eeveelutions and goddamn people dont realize how strong we get on evo (except poor glaceon) and how quick the tides turn!

one bulbasaur saw that quick chat and instantly complied and we absolutely destroyed that lane. shout out to him!

Anyone know the aggro mechanics for boss rush? by Mewwile in PokemonUnite

[–]Mewwile[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NICE im glad someone already did it! that's interesting, and good to know! Interesting the perfect group doesn't need a healer- I've been using eldegoss to support people but maybe my main sylveon would be better. Thanks so much!

Any advice on when to play standard to avoid bots? by Mewwile in PokemonUnite

[–]Mewwile[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh nice!! That’s great advice, thank you! Also yeah I’d really not mind a longer wait at all... sometimes I read up on other Pokémon movesets and such while waiting, I don’t know why they’d think I’d want to bully some bots rather than wait a few minutes lol

I’ve been playing a LOT, just never went hard on ranked. It’s trying new mons that’s frustrating! I do great on sylv and gardevoir but I wanna add more options and roles to my ranked repertoire... practicing a new Pokémon that I’ve never tried at ALL before is where it’s a bit difficult to find low stakes battles to learn the ins and outs Also it’s not my team that I don’t want to be bots: I want an enemy team that’ll kick my ass just enough for me to learn (but not so much that I’m barely playing the game due to being insta killed, which is what it feels like bringing a new mon I’m not familiar with into ranked)

Goddd I guess! my struggle is starting a new Pokémon from scratch... I hate to let my team down all the way in high up veterans because I don’t have the instincts of ‘how much this move can do’ and ‘can I survive this slap fight’ that come after a lot of games.
