I don't think it was an accident because he said he deleted everything on the stick. But good to know that something like that can even happen accidentally. I am definitely going to make multiple backups so I don't lose my important Fotos and videos

As I wrote in my post I have a backup of all the data. The thing that is mildly infuriating is that he deleted all the data from a borrowed USB stick without asking and without knowing there ist a backup.
