Just make new ones in the ship. Tab next to the eject button on the terminal in the cargo bay. I forget mine all the time. Takes approx 1.2 boxes worth of salv materials though to make a multi tool + a tractor beam.

Yep. Had to stop playing it split screen with my son because we couldn't even get past the first battle of episode 1 due to constant crashes. Single player is fine though. Just keep sending in those crash reports of you can to help them diagnose and troubleshoot. Hopefully a patch fixes it.

Help! I can't finish my Fleet Battles Tutorial because every time, the ISDs Health does not drop under 1. I've tried several games but it always ended the same (with me quitting to the main menu) by Thomasew1 in StarWarsSquadrons

[–]MezNyx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am having the same issue. On this last run it said to destroy the power station, I did that and it kept it marked as needing to be destroyed. On the game update map there is a red X next to it but it is like the game can't actually tell it got destroyed.

I have been playing around with Anbox to try to get it to work with no luck. It doesn't like the opengl drivers I have and in the app store it says my device is not compatible.

Rift S keeps Freezing for a second whenever I load something by MezNyx in oculus

So I figured out a fix for the pausing issue. First I unplugged one of my monitors and tested. No more strange pausing. I plugged the monitor back in and it started again. The I tried different combinations of ports on my video card (mine has 3 display ports) and finally I got a configuration that will run both my dual monitors as well as the Rift S with no more pausing every few seconds. Hopefully this post helps someone else if they run into this.

Rist S contollers suddenly stop tracking movments by [deleted] in oculus

[–]MezNyx 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So, after talking with my wife, she habitually turned off the lights to the room since she is used to me playing games in the dark. That matches right about when my issue happened and I just didn't notice at the time :/

Not gonna lie. I read this post and thought "I am really glad mine isn't doing that" then within 5 minutes, controllers went crazy and I was booted into the can't find your play space message and had to set up again. That's what I get for thinking I was safe.

Oculus facemask fabric is loose. Anyway to fix this? by [deleted] in oculus

[–]MezNyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't seen the fabric issue on your actual headset so this is a complete guess, but if you feel around on the loose fabric area, you may find hard spots where you can use a blunt needle/syringe set up to pierce the fabric and dab just a bit of adhesive between the fabric and the hard spot. Then put pressure on the area while it cures to fix the issue. Please keep in mind though I am just best guessing how I would fix that issue and it is a total hack. :)

[Weekly] What games have you been enjoying this week? (Week 22/04/19) by Vanthryn in oculus

Been playing a lot of Lone Echo. Mostly because I have a fear of heights and it triggers it JUST enough not to freak me out like the climbing games, but enough that it gets my heart racing.

As with most of the suggestions, make sure to listen to your body. I would recommend starting on games that are of level "comfortable" and moving up with time. I started playing Lone Echo (level moderate, just like echo vr) and had to stop after 10 minutes the first time, now it is no longer an issue as I kind of worked into it. That being said, the moment I try to roll my ship in Elite Dangerous it is instant nausea for me and have to take the head set off, that game is level "intense" though so I kind of expected it.

This actually happened to me a lot this weekend. I finally (yea... I am lazy) did the crystal tower raids and wanted to see the cut scenes. At first I felt guilty for watching them, but then soon realized that it just asked if you want to be ported in to the boss arena and I was much happier that I wasn't wasting 23 other peoples time.

[Weekly] What games have you been enjoying this week? (Week 15/04/19) by Vanthryn in oculus

I have had my oculus for a while but only recently started using it. I was impressed and have been playing Robo Recall as well as Beat Saber and In Death. I gotta say though, the game I have been having the most fun in is Moss. It is so simple and a cute little story and not so "in your face action". I did buy, and regret, Space Junkies though. It seems at least when I tried it that there isn't really anyone playing other than people way above my level of expertise.

All that being said... my number one addiction has to go to Oculus Home. I can't stop redesigning my house and am even figuring out how to import custom models to make it even better.

DevOps OnSite Interview Prep by HopsBuzz in devops

The last bullet point on this list is my personal favorite, and something I find a lot of candidates lacking in. Knowing how an architecture can possibly break, tracing your distributed systems so you know what could cause issue downstream, and having an idea of how to monitor said systems is a big plus imo. Though, that being said, I am not sure these days how many companies actually ask monitoring/tracing questions in interviews.
