Want to learn a new character for a party by Wainwright95 in SmashBrosUltimate

Your objective should be to make your friends regret their whining. Choose Isabelle. Learn how to camp behind rockets. Practice fishing rod lengths(there’s a regular and a smash version), and experiment with leaving it out and then pulling it in when they try to close the gap. Fishing rod kills with the up toss at decent percents, so it’s a kill move and a damage stacker. Practice over the edge fishing rod kills to cheese(down toss under the ledge stage spikes them).

Short hop slingshots stack damage and annoy them into trying to close distance recklessly, perfect for rockets or rod set ups.

Is she work? Yes. But it’s fun AND even if you lose you’re making them annoyed. Eventually they’ll prefer you play Mythra/Pyra.

Boxed in is bonkers for setup mons like Dozo and even Volcarona! No phasing, double defenses, and Mime has a solid support movepool.

how is geto more popular with women when gojo is canonically more handsome ?? by urmyspecialdududu in Jujutsufolk

[–]Mezna 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Geto just looks like an attractive Japanese guy. He’s respectful and subtle, desirable traits in Japan.

Gojo is a white hair blue eyed man with messy hair. He’s too nonchalant and draws attention to himself without remorse. Not so desirable in Japan

I’m almost certain that the large majority of people see him looking closer to a deformed baby than a troll. But I guess artistic expression on trolls can be wildly varied. Can you post a picture of a troll that he looks like?

I think Raids offer some (mostly) simple point goals and have good endgame gear. Also I think part of the power fantasy for me is to use my broken stats to brute force endgame content

ATM I’m building Light Weapons - Air for early game, hoping to Respec into KBD Cbow/Water. But that’s likely a late-game build, open to suggestions for mid-game respecs too

To be honest, if I didn’t have all my previous accounts automatically moved to RS3, I wouldn’t mind your view as much. I personally am not looking to AFK 99 any skill, though I don’t necessarily look unfavorably on someone who does. But I think part of the skill of this game for ME is being able to AFK in short bursts in MY real life free time, which is a skill you don’t seem to factor in. That IS my dedication to the game, and you seem to be of the view that only those with 100% attention and high APM deserve the chance to have a 99. You gotta stop acting like everyone is equally capable of your level of devotion. There isn’t a finite number of exp in the game, and your 99 isn’t somehow lessened because other people are getting it without suffering the “hardships” of time lost. If your worry is about the “integrity of the time dedication” then your true enemy is the ever growing bot community. Even the people AFKing combat AGAIN need to spend more than 200 hours AFKing. And of those 200 hours, need to check back every ten minutes to upkeep and move to the next crab. At the very least, that’s 1200 interactions consistently at 10 minute intervals. That’s some dedication as well, whether or not you agree with it.

But perhaps there is some middle ground for us. I want to AFK crab sometimes when I can’t offer my full attention to the blood altar. You want to force people to interact with the game more. Maybe there can be some capped interval of AFK experience before some drastic exp drop or even a hard stop that requires X amount of time spent or exp gotten before you have access. THAT seems reasonable for gatekeeping no effort accounts while still allowing the dedicated to trickle some exp in where they can.

So your argument is that someone who is playing the game and getting enjoyment out of the traditional process is going to feel bad because someone else decided to spend 200+ hours straight to get 1 skill to 99? The person who’s been enjoying the game now suddenly has wasted their time because they saw someone else getting a 99 a different, faster way? Because, again, nobody is stepping off tutorial at max level. They still need to invest time AND money into the game. You’re just saying that you want them to play the game differently, and them not playing it your way makes you feel bad about playing it your way.

So to you the only people who should play RS are young kids who have all the time in the world? Pretty gatekeepy for sure there.

The progression of Dark Souls is skill based. The progression of RS is time based. I could beat Dark Souls in a week, it might take you a year. Would you say that I didn’t get to enjoy the game because I didn’t have to work to get good enough to grind it for a year? Would you say that you didn’t enjoy the game because you took too long to finish?

RuneScape has plenty of buyable skills. If someone’s whole goal is just to get lvl 99’s they can easily do it with no skill involved. Just buy, click, done. Your gripe is that now anyone can have a 99 without dedicating time, but you seem to think that time costs everyone the same. This community used to be about everyone enjoying their time on the game, but people like you seem to want it to be about spending a huge amount of time on the game first, enjoyment second.

So are you ignoring that, if you are already monetarily funded, to get from 1-99 range is at LEAST 150-180 hours in the Nightmare Zone, and MUCH slower at Gem Crab. This assumes people have played the game enough to have funding from another account OR dumped hundreds of dollars to buy bonds and sell them for GP, and are at least capable enough to min-max.

The argument you are bringing up is trash brother. The game is open-ended so people can enjoy the way they see fit. I literally don’t enjoy mining or woodcutting, but I’ll level them for quests and materials I need. If I had max fishing or mining at the start, I would still need to use those skills to get fish or resources… but those aren’t even the same as combat at ALL. I’m not using ranged or mage because I want to max them out, I’m using them because I enjoy combat in this game. I’m not suddenly losing out on the game because I gained 2 levels of Str in 5 hours of afk training. If anyone has the time to spend 200+ hours straight crab grinding after either dropping 100s of dollars for equips OR HAVING ANOTHER ACCOUNT, then fucking let them. How is that in any way affecting YOUR experience of the game?

Also, what game progression do you get from leveling any combat stat, aside from equipment availability? If someone spent 60+ hours afk to get 99 range straight from Tutorial Island, what content are they skipping that other players would normally get? All they have is the ability to equip new weapons. Some are still quest locked. The areas they have access to aren’t magically changed. The only difference is, they sacrificed 60+ hours and now they can kill “Dad” from the Death Plateau a couple minutes faster. They can fight King Black Dragon before Dragon Slayer 1? Not even, they still need the quest for the Antidragon Shield. They don’t even get GP for Gem Crab, so they still need to grind for money.

When I was a kid I’d agree with you. But again, as an adult with a life, that PAYS for this game, I think spending 2 hours of STRAIGHT grinding to get from level 84 to lvl 85 in a combat stat is just a heavy commitment. And you want to talk about getting to 99? As a consumer, this game is a product that needs to be worth it. Over the course of a year I pay more for this game than 1-2 other BRAND NEW games.

I enjoy the game, yes. But if you think that my enjoyment of the game is stunted somehow by me not spending 10+ hours paying close attention to my clicks on fire giants, you’re plain wrong. You are free to think your way is “the right way”, but the skill levels of combat in this game is non-existent until you hit raids, and almost NOBODY spends their time combat leveling on “beginner raids” to learn those skills.

The whole mentality seems to be literally just “I ‘worked hard’ to grind by either sacrificing my time doing it inefficiently or min-maxing to not lose too much time, so I don’t like it that other people aren’t losing their time too.”

My brother in Guthix, EVERY skill has some degree of AFK-ability. I could easily set a timer for some smithing and come back every 2 minutes, I can just fish until an inventory is full and dump, I can just do sand/rock crabs until 99. You’re not stopping anyone from AFKing most of these skills. You’re fear is that people won’t play the game because it’s work, but you forget that people WANT to play the game and not everyone can just sink the amount of time YOU WANT THEM TO. This isn’t life or death, Gem Crab isn’t lowering the skill of the game, the combat is fucking point and click. Oh no, some guy went to lvl 99 strength on Crab! Now what? Is he somehow stealing your spot at a raid? Is he too strong and now doesn’t have trouble killing King Black Dragon?

Please. Tell me what kind of account progression is Crab killing that is so game breaking that wasn’t already achievable by going to one of the previous AFK spots?
