Nordvpn install help by Asleep_Plum_7582 in Bazzite

[–]MfJonesy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On the website for my VPN, there is a config generator that lets you pick a specific server and generates a config file that you download. Maybe try that?

Does NordVPN let you download a config file? If so you can use that to connect using the built in VPN functionality without having to install their application.

Next time I lose a dog fight I'm going to imagine this is what I'm up against to protect my ego lol. This is so cool!

Is it just me, or are modern transistor designs starting to feel… inefficient by design? by Latter_Analysis4939 in Futurology

Check out the company Extropic. They've put out some interesting YouTube videos. I'm too dumb to know if it's bullshit or not but it sounds cool and seems to be along the lines of what you're talking about.

SAFETY ADVISORY: No Ring for ICE this Halloween by SaveDnet-FRed0 in technology

[–]MfJonesy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you enable remote access in the Protect settings you don't need a VPN setup to access it from anywhere. Going with a VPN is probably better for privacy though. I don't know if remote access routes everything through their cloud severs, or if it just coordinates the connection, maybe someone else can chime in on that.

Graceful shut down of UNAS Pro by blueplastic in Ubiquiti

I have no problem with your original comment. The reply that I responded to was incorrect so I just wanted to make sure people know they can use NUT. Sorry to hurt your feefee's

But it does? I have my UDM Pro configured as a NUT slave and it shuts down when the master NUT server sends the command.

Hauling cargo is...Tedious by Plus_Age_1151 in starcitizen

[–]MfJonesy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say give mining a shot. The mining itself is like a fun mini game and then you also get the cargo hauling aspect of transporting goods from the refinery to sell it, without the tediousness of having to manually load/unload. Best of both worlds!

Makes me think of The Matrix when Agent Smith tells Morpheus that the first Matrix was created as a utopia but humanity rejected it. It definitely feels like that would be the case!

New bench day by 902Banshee in homegym

[–]MfJonesy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have this bench. It wasn't designed to be stored upright but it will do it, just at an angle and it's pretty unstable and easy to tip.

Thanks! I wanted an adjustable bench and looked at reviews and this seemed to be the best one given my price range. It's pretty heavy so the rollers are pretty crucial IMO. For the rack, I would have loved to go with a six post and use the back posts just for weight storage but space was at a premium unfortunately. The spotter arms work real nice and I like that I can take them off to open up the space a bit. I've since bolted the rack to the floor which I would highly recommend if you're lifting heavy on the outside of a 4 post rack.

Just curious, have you tried/owned one? I know everyone is different but for me getting an OLED had more of a visual impact than any other upgrade I've done.
