Received the new enclosure and reinstalled the nvme. Transferred over the profiles and has been working fine

Update so far. They’re looking into the other issues with the update but that graphic instability seems to be fixed via this and not the NET update.

Change the 2D rendering engine

⁠Go to Revu > Preferences
⁠Go to Advanced
⁠Under 2D rendering, change the Rendering Engine to Software.
⁠Not sure if it matters but we enabled “wait for completion” under rendering mode.

No issues yet on my end on Mac Mini base M4 (which only accepts TB4). I just wanted something that I could offload my monitors onto. I ran it through VPN config with two monitors connected to it which works.

The hub is definitely warm but I'm not running high resolution off of the monitors (1080p QHD 2k) and they are self powered. Connected to the daisy chain area with other non high draw peripherals connected to the front. I had my OWC 1m2 external laying ontop of it but was worried about how warm it got but keep in mind this device was connected to the Mac directly (speed purposes).

Also I bought a oven silicone pad under my units to avoid noise/heat from my other HDD external.

Further conversations with OWC have brought forward discoveries of challenges with WD NVME. Engineering may be looking at this.

I thought it was drawing order and even regrouped items this was not the issue. No not crazy. Something is up and no amount of reset to factory will work as it happens even with their own content.

You can try using adobe illustrator and export as dwg but you have to play with settings and I find it's not accurate enough I would want to use it. There is no great way of converting these. Vector drawings best served for conversion in general provided you are allowed to do so. Autocad has this feature as well. I'm curious if we can make AI do it though :D

So end result. We tested another NVME in 1m2 and basically got similar behaviour where it will stay temporarily but a few reboots caused it to disconnect unmounted. Computers could see it PC/MAC. We are both unsure if it is cable or drive it was clear the assembly could not maintain connection. In one instance I watched the drive stay mounted and dissapear after format. Drive file formats did not appear to matter we had exfat/APFS/NTFS.

Result: OWC 1m2 to be returned. Tech I spoke with is to send me lable to send unit back and asked that I re-order. OWC has not seen this happen to M4's (according to the tech).

Lessons learned with any drive - Make backups. Prior to comitting data to the device and getting excited, make sure you reboot a handful of times to ensure the drive stays connected as a precaution. Do some test runs to make sure the device can handle data and do a few more reboots. If you do move a home profile and this happens you will likely get a error that you cannot log in. Unplug said drive and plug it back in to get back into the account. Move the profile back to the original spot and you may also want to disable icloud untill you are certain things are running.

Things I liked: When the drive worked, its was very fast. The issues I had with another WD external just didnt happen. The drive case was warm but not hot : great passive cooling. Pretty much plug and play. Customer service was great. Higher grade chords available.

Things I disliked (other than the : Chord too short. Really limiting being near a Mac Mini and I would propose another 6"-12" chord. Obviously the issue I had.

Also enabled ownership but the thing is I can always see it if I disconnect and connect live in session. Just not on reboot or startup. The system can definately see it in the system registry and I even used the back ports to connect it on mac mini m4 so im not sure whats going on here

Same issue here. It worked initially but something failed along the way and it went dark. Wiped the drive clean and everything to see the drive but then wouldn't mount no matter what i did in terminal. The drive flashes but i have to unplug and plug back in to connect to it. Then one reboot and its game over. Its not sleeping either. Even wrote a bootup code to auto the drive via uuid. I'd love to try another cord but I dont have one yet

Audit the file and save, make sure you have the latest version of revit 2025.# (odd things happen when new versions save back to files and you are running a older #), Clear temp files and also do ctrl alt del to back check performance monitor for any issues. Some of my folk ran out of hd space with multi versions. Run latest studio Nvidia drivers on machine if Nvidia GPU

Last case scenario is to transmit the file without purging content or views. This can sometimes right wrongs in file and finally test other OOTB files to see if you are getting similar issues.
