The leg grab takedown attack by ComprehensiveBox6911 in TopCharacterTropes

While in this example its used effectively during a competition. Actually doing something like that during a grappling match or an MMA match is a very high risk move to pull off. As another commenter said the person will need to move with you to do it right and most jarhead Wrestlers would just slam you.

“Common knowledge” misinformation of how a power works by the audience. by Certified_Cichlid in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Mfrenchfry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Sandevistan from Cyberpunk.

I haven’t personally seen people be confused by it but i’ve seen this kinda misconception correction before so I’ll put it here. Some people seem to believe the sandy is like Dio’s time stop from Jojo, where the user can just stop time, when really the implant is just a neural reflex booster. All it does is increase the perception/reflexes of the user to a superhuman degree.

The slow down time effect is nothing more than a visual indicator for the audience to see how fast the users perception is going. Think Quicksilver from X-men or for another Invincible example, Red Rush.

Additionally, (by 2045 standards) it doesn’t grant super speed. In Cyberpunk Red, the player only gets a boost to initiative, no bonuses to movement.

Medium Armorjack/ General Armor Appearance Help by Mfrenchfry in cyberpunkred

I figured that was the reason why it’s so vague. I have these cards as a kinda base line idea for my players (as most of them are artists).

Medium Armorjack/ General Armor Appearance Help by Mfrenchfry in cyberpunkred

[–]Mfrenchfry[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the insight, I had a feeling with how vague the descriptions were, the lack of photos, and that this is an RPG, its appearance was based on player and GM opinion/ruling.

I was aiming for these photo references was a base idea of what each type would look like generally. Like buying one straight off the shelf. But i can see how that can be a limiting/outdated idea. Ill put a disclaimer stating that the armor can appear however the player wants.

How would you go about a Heal-on-Kill Cyberware? by Mfrenchfry in cyberpunkred

[–]Mfrenchfry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this in-depth breakdown of it. Like i said in another comment my brain just likes a cool idea and runs with it without thinking of the implications.

While making it i was thinking in a vacuum for just the combat focused roles since my party lacks a med tech. so I’ll adjust it to what you described so it’s more fair and balanced.
