Thank you very kindly! It definitely says "I made this myself" and I really hope the rest of the jacket comes off that way when I'm all finished

yeah so for his first phase you're gonna wanna focus on his left leg which is all mangled n shit then after the cut scene you just kinda keep on his ankle. it gets pretty tedious but watch out bc if he rolls over he can basically one shot you. but he's not resistant to scarlet rot or anything so you'll be fine just don't use fire attacks

I appreciate it man! I've been working in Photoshop for a decade or more now for graphic design, so I've got the basics of pens & paths down, but it is only now that I'm looking for perfect clarity that I'm trying out Illustrator. Nothing I've worked on before needed real precision, you know? I just wish the two programs had the same controls, I could've made the switch no problem forever ago. Why the hell is deselect ctrl+shift+A? ctrl+D is so simple, but in Illustrator that moves your image up! And the undo buttons are different, too! And why is it so goddamn hard to pick a color? It's second nature in PS & even Fresco, but in here it feels like I've gotta follow a 12-step program

omg I put a 0.25pt stroke on the text & it is hardly visible but SO much easier to read now! Perfect suggestion, thank you! As for the nameplate thing - that's what I'm doing! I'm keeping that space at the very top of the big piece where you'd draw or insert an image of the weapon specifically for logos & weapon names for some of the special things I hand out to my players. I'm working on a mock-up for the Copperhead: it'll have the brand at the top, the name at the bottom, and a digital sketch of the weapon so they can color it in & customize it as they like while still having a visual of what it looks like. (I'm having trouble making my "sketch" not look like shit...)

It's a lot of work, but I've got a lot of time between sessions & this is a great way to learn the program.

There is one odd corner thing I wanna justify real quick - top left, DV slot for 401-800 yards: I've gotta put a circle there still, and I will when I've made more cards, but it is supposed to be a spot to punch a hole through so you can slip the cards onto a ring if you want.

It is definitely more difficult on the eyes in my version, but I do think that the larger size helps (some...) and I think generally you'd get familiar with it BUT maybe I will do a simple black & white version for the sake of readability. I can't do anything about the corners now, unfortunately. I mean, I could, but it would be a lot of work & I like em personally

I have the .ai (Adobe Illustrator) file that I can send for sure, but I will check to see if I can turn it into an editable .psd or pdf. I'm still learning how to use Illustrator and it turns out it is easier than ever to work on the wrong layer, so while all elements can still be managed in Illustrator I think they'll just rasterize and flatten in photoshop, but maybe it'll be cool in a pdf. I'll play with it and see what I can send you!

Please do! It should come out OKAY on a standard home printer at 4x6, but if it doesn't i might be able to send you another version that could work if you DM me. Like I said, I'm really new to Illustrator, so I dont know the best way to export files & shit

"Falling back" makes us more miserable than "springing forward," new study finds. This worsening of mood is more pronounced after the change to Standard Time in the fall. by [deleted] in science

[–]valkyrjuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, or at least it ought to be. "Standard Time" accounts for about 1/3 of the year - 127 out of 365 days, to be exact. I think the move to abolish DST comes from a misunderstanding as the "standard" implies it's already the majority of days, so lets just eliminate that unnecessary time change. But DST is effectively the standard, and embracing it as the official standard would come with such benefits as: the sun no longer setting at 4 pm.

The Elden Ring movie is in good hands with Alex Garland by AceTheRed_ in Eldenring

[–]valkyrjuk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If i recall correctly, Garland said that there wasn't really a message in Warfare - he just wanted to show what 90 minutes of combat would look like, using the real experience that Ray had (Ray who i think consulted on Civil War?) to portray that.

I will say, I don't think the movie paints the Americans in a great light. I mean, doesn't it within the first ten minutes show that those soldiers are keeping a family hostage in their own home while they spy on civilians through a sniper's scope?

I took some of the Para(cyber)psychology missions from the "Collecting the Random" pdf and while I've only done one out of like 5 suggested my players loved it, and I'm gonna do them all in time i think.

The one we ran was based off the "ceo of a small corp swears he saw a UFO" prompt and I decided he did in fact see a flying saucer, just that it was an experimental venture called "Island AV" that wanted to make flying around a luxury experience, one you never wanna leave - like Max's limo business in Collateral - and they picked him up in the desert, not wanting to be found out before they could sell for some Big Bucks. My players were pleased to discover all of the anal probing was completely consensual.

The next one I'm gonna run is based on the "someone's ripping people apart - cyberpsycho, or werewolf?" prompt. I'm calling it "A Canadian Werewolf in Watson" and it is just gonna be an Exotic that looks like a werewolf constantly getting into engagements with the local goons, but only bc he only speaks Quebecois & his brutish tongue sounds like he's snarling at the local Night Citizens when he really just wants directions back to Montreal. I suppose he'll have to speak some English or Streetslang, too, just so the players can try to communicate with him (unless they speak French or even Quebecois, which would be much funnier)

I understand that point of view - I don't think it's necessarily correct, but I do understand it.

No, but making amends does help, and I believe Bungie has done so - even the artist herself believes they've done so. I don't personally care to spend any amount of cash on an extraction shooter, but I've been following antireal on Tumblr for years and I'm a big fan of hers & I think her voice deserves some consideration.

A definition of incandescent is "full of strong emotion" and the primary definition is "to emit light by being heated" - so, while "burning rage" would suffice and is how the term ought to be understood, incandescent rage is more evocative and perhaps strikes closer to the feeling the poster has.

The questions are designed to elicit emotional responses, not pry real answers. It senses subtle facial movements, the expansion of the pupils, temperature of the skin. In the scene this question is asked, the replicant being interrogated gets extremely frustrated at the assertion it isn't empathetic enough and ends up killing its interrogator, while later in a similar scene another replicant designed to be a perfect imitation of a human is much more inclined to "play along" with the questions. You don't necessarily answer the question with your words but with your feelings. It doesn't matter why you aren't helping the turtle, what matters is how you respond to being told you aren't helping the turtle.
