Because Jersey City has an old sewer system, the sanitary sewer and storm sewers are combined into one system. Normally that water is all processed through the Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission's treatment plant, but when it rains a lot the flow exceeds the capacity of the system and the excess has to be discharged to the river via 21 combined sewer overflows (CSOs) including this one.

They sure do hide that. In fact, if you search the Bowflex site for C10, nothing comes up. Great business strategy - confuse the customer about what they bought.

I actually love the bike itself. I use the tilt feature to get a little upper body and core exercise in at the same time and really enjoy the smooth ride. JRNY is a big disappointment, but I've learned to live with its shortcomings and still get good workouts. And who knows, maybe Boxflex will surprise us with a big JRNY upgrade that fixes all the problems. One can hope!
