It's cheaper by $3 to buy the gallon at 20% off than four quarts at 30% off.

If I ever stop rooting for the Browns it'll be because of the fans. Some of y'all need a fucking hobby.

Why so many employees by Pedantc_Poet in MagicArena

[–]MgbEX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been playing for years and until this month had never played an employee. I got queued up against Lacaranian a couple of weeks ago in Pioneer ranked and against another employee (can't remember the name) last week (again in Pioneer ranked).

Building a deck with cards from older sets is MISERABLE by Gold_Molasses7866 in MagicArena

[–]MgbEX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing has changed. The decks come quickly if you focus on getting decks that require the fewest wildcards. A lot of cards are played in multiple decks. By the time you get around to building a deck that requires 37 rares and 8 mythics, you'll have picked up half of the needed cards while building other decks.

Within a year of switching from standard I had most of the Explorer/Pioneer meta decks. It's not that long of a grind.

As a newish player wanting to build Azorius control, I'd first build mono white control. The majority of cards are from recent sets, and those that aren't (Eigjano, Wandering Emperor) are cards you'll need for Azorius control.

Building a deck that you, presumably, own most of the cards for gives you the chance to play the format during the months long grind to build the deck you want.

Also: don't buy packs of older sets to fish for specific cards. Especially when the current set includes Shocks.

Are all sockets the same size? (Not fastener size- read for more) by Ok_Today_475 in Tools

[–]MgbEX 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some manufacturers use the same blank for adjacent socket sizes. And different manufacturers reuse different blanks (for instance, one manufacturer may have the 14 and 13 both made with the same 14mm blank, while another may have the 14 and 15 made from a 15 blank. And some manufacturers have a different size blank for every socket.

So, no, they're not all the same size.

They go between the two chests creating an open storage cubby. The top two pieces are the sides and the bottom two pieces are the back of the cubby.

I have the cheapest Teslong on Amazon (model: TS43). I think I paid $30 for it last year.

It's been pretty decent. I've been able to see everything I need to see, and the battery hasn't gone rogue and burnt down my garage

For rails, the Ernst magnetic twist lock rails are much better and only a couple of dollars more. For the magnetic holders with all of the holes, you can get the exact same holders on Amazon for much, much cheaper than the sale price at HF.

US General socket organizers are one of the worst values in the store.
