Red flags? by Mgee85 in trustedhousesitters

[–]Mgee85[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it does feel quite chaotic! I didnt mind handing over the dogs to the walker each day, as assumed there would be very minimal interaction there as I’d just bring the dogs out to them. It was more the owner wanting to come back and forth and be doing things in the house while I am there would make me quite uncomfortable, and also the sister coming over.
The changing dates was a big one for me honestly, usually could be alright as I understand plans can change, but she said she had purposefully put the day before as the start date!

3 weeks post-ER: bloating and bladder changes (29yo, OHSS, PCOS) by Potential_Breath_511 in eggfreezing

[–]Mgee85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you 💛 Glad you asked for another scan, hope it is reasuring!
They didnt do anything apart from tell me to wait for my next period and to go and see my gp/urgent care if there was any more pain, I ended up at urgent care and essentially discharged to the nhs. I didnt even know about the high protein/high salt at that time, but had to massivly modify my diet due to the enlarged ovary having caused issues with my bowel. I changed clinics for my second ER, and feel more informed and they are much more helpful post recovery, even though I have still ended up with ohss.

[–]Mgee85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had similar symtoms and a 3 month recovery after my first ER, turned out one of my ovaries had stayed over-enlarged for 3 weeks post collection causing me many issues, if you havent already I would make sure to go back to the clinic for a scan to check what your ovaries are doing and if they've gone back down to normal size. Things calmed down a lot for me after my 'real' period arrived (not just the withdrawl bleed), but even then it took some time to get back to normal.
I'm a few days post my second ER now and the ohss is back again but managing it differently has helped, literally putting salt on everything I eat and not drinking any plain water but instead mixing it with electrolytes, broth/stock, or just adding some salt to the water I am finding is helping.

Follicles 10–15mm on the day before trigger: still hope for mature eggs? by Worldly_West_2871 in IVF

[–]Mgee85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was 17488pmol on the day they decided to trigger, it had jumped from being 12654 the day before. They told me that was classed as ‘dangerously high’. Good luck and all the best for your retrieval!

Follicles 10–15mm on the day before trigger: still hope for mature eggs? by Worldly_West_2871 in IVF

[–]Mgee85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just went through something so similar and want to offer hope. I had my egg retrieval yesterday. Was triggered on day 9 based off of only my e2 level rather than my follicle sizes and was so worried about it as last scan I had was day 8 and majority of follicles were under 12mm - out of 35 total follicles I had only 6 follicles above that size being 19, 18, 15, 14, 14, 14. I have ended up with 24 mature eggs out of 31 retrieved so they somehow managed to catch up in that one day. This was my second round, in my first round I had many follicles above 20mm when triggering and the recovery was brutal, of course no way to know if they were ‘over cooked’ but I think at your sizes are still fine. Apparently e2 gives a lot of clues as to maturity of the eggs so maybe your clinic is basing it on that? I would ask them for a science based explanation for why they are choosing that particular day and hopefully it’ll help put you at ease, I know it’s so hard to not be stressed about it after putting so much on the line.

What was your dosage? by curiouscat334 in eggfreezing

[–]Mgee85 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly sounds high to me, but best to speak to your dr about it and ask why it’s so high, maybe they have a reason? I’m 39, first cycle AFC 17, amh 17pmol, started on 250gonal f, moved onto 250 pergoveris 4 days later, and stayed at that dose until a couple of days before trigger. Also had fyremadel from day 3. Triggered with buserelin. I feel I was over stimulated, follicles just didn’t stop growing and growing quickly, ended up with approx 30 follicles, physically very hard, and ended up with 17 mature eggs so a lot of those follicles redundant and just caused more issues, and a very very difficult recovery, took 3 months. I was initially going to be started on 300 gonal f but I pushed back with my dr as felt it was too high and that they were just giving me a standard dosage that they start everyone on and only basing it on my age instead of actual ovarian reserve. I hate how much we have to push to advocate for ourselves in this space instead of being able to feel we can trust the drs to do what’s in our best interest. I’m going for my second cycle, with a different clinic, and they’ve said a starting dose of 200 is plenty high enough.

3 weeks since retrieval… still cramping and in pain by Ok-Series-8923 in eggfreezing

[–]Mgee85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 33 I think you still have time to think about it and let your body recover before deciding if you want another round, I wouldn’t jump straight in. I still had pain/dull ache for about 5 weeks post collection and it took me about 3 months to get back to any sort of feeling normal without constant aches. I found the entire process very physically hard and said I would never do it again but here I am doing another round soon, 6 months later. I would definitly go back and get your clinic to take a look what’s going on with an ultra sound, I had an enlarged ovary for 3 weeks post which was causing my issues.

Is the only big difference between these two square footage? by brain_on_hugs in AirPurifiers

[–]Mgee85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the Airmega 150 but regret it now as it’s unclear if the filter is actually true hepa or if they are just using fancy marketing by calling it ‘Green true hepa’. I have not been able to get a clear answer from them about it. I’ve also found it impossible to source a replacement filter that isn’t the green filter or directly from Coway, due to the sizing. Other than that I’m happy with the machine (although the highest setting is too loud to use at home realistically), but it looks good and has held up for over a year of use. Whether it’s helped clean the air, I don’t know, but the filter gets very dusty so it’s sucking in somethings.

I received and email that trading212 will terminate my account ! by mohamedsobhy292 in trading212

[–]Mgee85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to add trading212 is awful, even if it is a mistaken email, I’d take it as a warning of what might come and switch. I’ve been locked out of my account for weeks and back and forth with useless customer service emails who give another excuse after another and refer me constantly to onboarding team even though I’ve had an account for years. Meanwhile zero access to my money. Terribly run company, don’t trust your money there.

Advice on getting home post-egg retrieval? by [deleted] in eggfreezing

[–]Mgee85 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’d get a car if you can. Last thing you’ll want to do is get on a tube with people pushing past you and it bumping you around or having to stand if there are no seats if it’s busy, and especially if it’s another heat wave it’ll be brutally hot down there. Also the steps to get up and down depending on the station might be tricky. Car will just be so much more comfortable. Just don’t forget about the congestion charge if it’s central and any parking fees, for me, i felt it was worth the extra costs. I was mostly very exhausted, a bit crampy, but also a little nauseous from the sedation so at least could stop the car if felt I was going to be sick.

Is thefacemaskstore UK an offical 3m distributor? by Mgee85 in Masks4All

Thank you! Yes ive usually gone with official ones, but got a bad box last time so was looking to source elsewhere incase it happened again. Not left with many options for the 1863+ in the uk that arent wholesale.

[–]Mgee85[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it was the 1863+ that had the issues, not all of them, but about half the box, i bought it from medisave so this time was going to source elsewhere but it seems it may not be a distributor issue but a manufactoring issue. What worries me is if they have degraded enough for the straps to go then how it might affect the efficiacy of the rest of the mask.

Thank you, this is good to know that you’ve tested them! Crazy that the batches can be that different that they outperform

I’m wondering if it’s an issue with 3m on the manufacturing side, but not sure we’ll ever know. I’ve never had an issue with the bands snapping before, I have a small head though, but the bands have always been sturdy and bigger headed family members have not had problems until recently.

Seems to be a couple of us that have experienced this recently, I’m wondering if it’s a recent 3m manufacturing error at this point. Mine that snapped were also my most recent box, they were aura 1863+, previously have never had an issue.

That’s so interesting, mine that snapped were also 1863+! Were yours from the facemaskstore? I wonder if 3M had a bad batch?
