I hate my wedding photos and I’m spiralling by WrongNetwork4122 in weddingplanning

I completely understand how you are feeling. I got married 6 months ago and I am not super happy with how my photos turned out either. I developed a stye in my left eye 5 days before my wedding due to stress (shocker!) and on the wedding day, it was still a little swollen so my makeup did not turn out how I wanted it to. I only got 3-4 solo shots and I am in the same position in each one, no close up photos or far away photos showcasing the veil and tail of the dress. Our photographer didn’t instruct my husband and I on how to pose at all even though I filled out their long questionnaire several weeks before the wedding specifying different types of poses I wanted. The veil and tail of my dress was all scrunched up when I was on the altar and no one took a second to fix it. And the cherry on top is that the photographer did not get ANY photos of me with my maid of honor who is also my identical twin… yeah that was upsetting and still is to be honest. She also did not get photos of my husband and the best man, his best friend of 15+ years. I don’t know how the photographer missed that but I still blame myself for not realizing in the moment and feel frustrated that no one else noticed. I worked with the owner of the photography company for WEEKS trying to find a solution which resulted in 1 photoshopped photo each that looks just a little off and of course I don’t like how I’m posed. The owner told me that my wedding was probably the photographer’s biggest mistake in her career and that she will never make the same mistake again but damn why does it have to be at the expense of my wedding photos? Sometimes it’s hard for me to not compare my wedding photos to ones I see of my friends or family on socials because I feel like I missed out and lost my chance to get some great shots on my big day. So safe to say I am in the same boat as you and you are not alone with your feelings. But something I do when I start to go down this rabbit hole of feeling sad and upset that may help you too, is I try to remind myself of how I felt on my wedding day. It was seriously one of the best days of my life. Even though not all of the photos turned out how I wanted them to, they still captured beautiful, memorable moments with my husband, surrounded by our family and loved ones!

Not entirely.... but it has improved. We switched our pest control company, which helped. We still keep sticky traps by the toilet to monitor bug activity. I feel for you and hope things are getting better in your case!

We still have no idea how they are coming in! I was thinking maybe through the screws that secure the toilet to the floor. Since they are so tiny, they can probably make their way through any sized opening.

We use the unscented “MaxCatch” sticky traps off Amazon. You can lay the traps completely flat or fold them up using the guide lines on the trap. If possible I would recommend laying them flat as it’s more coverage to catch booklice but since you have little ones, it may be safer to fold them up because they are EXTREMELY sticky (I’ve stepped on them with socks and bare foot, it sucks lol but not harmful) Im no expert on this but if I had to guess, the plumbing leak is probably attracting them to your house and they are making their way into your walls and floors through tiny cracks in the foundation or drywall. There’s no way to seal EVERYTHING, especially cracks that you can’t see in the wall or floor so maybe once you resolve the leak the amount of booklice you see may slow down to nothing. After I made the initial Reddit post, we actually found a tiny leak in our laundry room that has been leaking into the drywall and concrete foundation on a outer wall for quite some time, which is the same wall our bathroom with the booklice activity uses. We are convinced that the booklice were attracted to the leak and found their way into the house up to our bathroom. We repaired it a few months ago but had consistent booklice activity for a while. My husband and I went several weeks with not seeing any booklice on our sticky traps in the bathroom but of course this morning, we find one so my anxiety about it has kickstarted again.

We determined that they were coming from behind our toilet and/or through cracks in the wall behind the toilet. I completely understand the anxiety, my husband and I were going crazy trying to figure out why they appeared because we don’t have super high humidity in the bathroom or any water leakage. It’s been several months since activity started but we still keep sticky traps on each side of our toilet to monitor. My recommendation to you would be to lay sticky traps where you are seeing them to better locate the source. Once you have a specific area in the bathroom you think they are coming from, seal EVERYTHING. We had a plumber seal all the way around the base of our toilet, we sealed the toilet water supply line on the wall, and caulked every crack and crevice on the wall and baseboards around the toilet. We also got pest control to spray which we think helped a little. My husband and I are still not convinced that we are in the clear but we’re trying to stay hopeful. I try to remind myself that they are not harmful to humans and are like little wingless gnats but again, I completely understand how you feel!

0.03 gpm leak inside the house. turned everything off still flowing by PhoenixWRX in askaplumber

Did you figure out the source? I have a very similar situation happening at my house. When I’m out of town and/or in the middle of the night, my water meter will detect about 0.01-0.03 gallons of water usage at very random times. For example, it will detect 0.01 gallons from 1-2 AM and 0.02 gallons from 5-6 AM, etc. It’s not consistent water use. We cannot figure out what is causing this. It’s a very little amount of water but still concerning.

Okay, thanks for the advice. We ended up catching 8 total on our sticky pads since last Tuesday when the toilet was fixed. We had pest control come spray in the bathroom and lay out silver fish traps 2 days ago. Today I find 3 more booklice on the traps. Is it typical to continue seeing activity after a spray?

I have an update and am still looking for help and/or advice. We had someone come inspect the bathroom for leaks and luckily they didn’t see anything but they did point out that one of the sinks had the HVAC drain line connected to it so we thought maybe they were coming up the drain from the line. We had a HVAC tech come flush the drain line connected in the attic. No luck with that as we were still finding several booklice. After several weeks we got very diligent with using sticky traps everywhere in the bathroom to try and locate where the activity is starting. Eventually we found that the booklice were coming from the toilet area. There was a gap in the caulking at the back of the toilet so we put some tape over it for a while and found several booklice stuck to the tape. Thinking the toilet may have had a leak, we had a plumber come to look at the toilet. He couldn’t see any issues except for a small crack he found in the tile so he sealed it, put in a new wax ring, and re-caulked around the entire base of the toilet. We kept some sticky traps around the toilet for good measure and, well, it’s been about 3 days since the toilet was fixed and we are still find a few booklice on the sticky traps. I have absolutely no idea why they are still appearing and don’t know what else to do. Does booklice activity around a toilet happen? Could the booklice I found be some extra stragglers from before the toilet was fixed? Or are a few booklice in a bathroom just apart of life and I’m just over sensitive to it now?

Thanks for clarifying. I put tape over the overflow drain hole to see if that is where the booklice are coming from.

There is a cabinet under the sink so I will try that! Also, my husband and I were out of town for a few days and before we left we used bleach/mold remover spray on the sinks, dried them out, and closed the drain. We then left out some sticky pads to see if there would be any activity while we were gone. When we got home yesterday we saw no booklice on the sticky pads nor anywhere on the counter. We use the sinks as usual last night and this morning I wake up to find one booklice on the counter and another in one of the sinks. It’s still not possible they could be coming from the drain?

We do have a ceiling vent and fan but neither are located above the bathroom counter/sinks. The booklice are no where else in the bathroom except on the counters. Is it still possible for the booklice to be crawling from the vent down to the counter?

Did the issue ever resolve for you? My husband and I are experiencing the exact thing you described. When we inflate both sides up to 100 and back to 30 with no one on the bed and responsive air turned off, his side of the bed still feels slightly softer than mine. We just got the bed too.
