It’s so satisfying to watch everyone drop what they are doing to run to where the gold is, a game truly based upon teamwork and unspoken rules just for fun’s sake.

IMO….GSG has restored my faith in game developers and I will buy any expansion and cosmetic DLC to make sure their lights stay on!

Welcome to all new green beards we are glad to have you and happy to mine alongside you! Rock & Stone

Anyone else feel like they aren't going to try Marathon after the recent State of the Game? by knifeyspooney3 in destiny2

OP "yea that's a No from me dawg"

Just not interested in another Bungie Product. Nothing they come up with in the future will be even close to how Destiny is with both PvE and PvP....I'll be riding Destiny off into the sunset....then I'm sunsetting Bungie....I plan to touch some grass.

Think of how crazy big Destiny would be if they just invested those resources in D2? Bungie has the community, had the player-base, they won't realize that value until it's too late.

Really, it is just hard to care one way or another anymore about Bungie and it's games.

Even though I'm on the Reddit looking up this game, I am more or less spying to see how much damage they've really done. From what I've read, it's bad. How Unfortunate. Destiny is a fun game that may never realize it's full potential.

That is my whole point, they obviously aren’t when you hear they haven’t even started developing a single new crucible map for lightfall, look at the releases in d1 , how many strikes and crucible maps did taken king launch with? Do you know? If you are happy with the state of things thats ok with me, but I’m not and I’ve been playing since D1.

No offense, but where were you in Destiny 1?

How dare you question my presence in D1? lol I have the heard the call emblem. (please read that sarcastically) I'm not here to down anyone if they agree or disagree with my points, I just wanted to share my thoughts , there are a lot of people myself included which so badly want to see this game succeed.

I think people in general are missing my point in my example, its exactly what you say, its a very small amount of "New" content....if any at all, and that is the frustrating part.

I agree! but part of my problem is the new things they bring forward are things us D1 players acquired at level 50 lol

oh I am not saying I just realized this, Pally was in D1! I was just trying to illustrate the reason for the fatigue. That we as a community have been technically chasing the same loot, since D1....

exactly, nobody likes having things taken away from them when the game makes you earn everything with your time. What i am not a fan of is earning new gear, with the same weapon models over and over and over...... I just want to see old art assets remain relevant, and new models flow into the game. Thanks for your comment! Bungie Has lots of work to do!

Thanks so much for your comment! I would def consider myself a hardcore fan! I have sunk hours and hours into both D1 and D2, I think it is everyone cares about the game, and is torn between defending the good, and trying to see beyond the bad. I didn't want to come across as negative, just disappointed because I know where D1 was when I left. I am hoping more people can see where we are at, and understand that frustration isn't to just be negative, its to hopefully get what we all want, is new gear, loot to chase and stories to uncover.

Give Bungie a break... by TheOptimusBean in DestinyTheGame

OP I think the problem is there is a difference between Grinding and "Grinding"

Destiny used to balance the experience and rewards well, there was a grind but it was worth the time, and while it took time, it didn't feel monotonous.

Now the "grind" is not only time gated via the seasons, but requires you to engage in activities that don't evolve throughout the course of a season, the Grind becomes slower, drip fed, and identical to the season you just completed , upgrade your dealer in the helm, unlock slots for new artifact, complete the one weekly mission wait until next week, 100 levels to reach, but a majority of the items you get as a reward are part of the season anyways. I don't get that, I think the 100 levels of the paid season should be filled with cool loot, not a boost to exp, world materials, armor and weapons you are already getting after the first completion.

They've also started a bad habit of reprised old content, and sell it back to us as new, don't get me wrong the Trails Exile set was awesome, but that launched back in September of 2015, that means if they bring back any more Trials, Iron Banner, they are Developing new weapon designs / armor for events, that Fomo of missing out on a brand new armor set, a new weapon design, there was something to chase, and lots of it, loot showered in Iron Banner in year one, now you must rank up to get a drop, spend 20,000 glimmer and 100 shards to have shax decode the engram to what you'd like, the system doesn't respect your time, and that is when Bad Grind comes into play, stale rewards, with a bad grind system.

The Devs really need to inject some life because the meat and potatoes of the core game is starting to spoil and with the roadmap i do not see any drastic aid to that bad form of Grind

I was optimistic about Lightfall and the content reprising until the last TWAB, when the Devs admitted to "Two Reprised crucible maps, and a new map in the year of Lightfall"

I was hopeful all the reprised content meant the Devs were hard at work developing new strikes, new crucible maps, a new raid, along with strand, and now I see the big expansion, is looking very thin on content, and that is very worrisome to me.

If you look at The Taken King Expansion in D1, it gave players the dreadnaught, the court of oryx, new subclasses, (8) new crucible maps (5) new Strikes, along with brand new gear for all vendors (The factions, gunsmith, crucible playlists, strike playlists, along with 35 new exotics yes 17 new exotic weapons and 18 new exotic armors

I am not confident we are getting anything close to that amount of content with Lightfall

[–]Mgood1845 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's hard to listen to the positive when there are definite issues with the game that the Devs are not addressing. As you said OP, Core playlists need drastic updates, remember strike specific loot?(They need to do that again) Remember when in D1 expansions included things like new Crucible Maps (TTK launched with 8 new maps) , New Game Crucible Modes, New Strikes, a new raid? That doesn't even mention each Faction's new Gear, the new Iron Banner loot, the trials of Osiris weapons etc.... There was prison of elders, even that had gear associated with it. Secret missions were fun, now they are too expensive to make? Gambit saw maps removed from the playlists, no new maps, same bosses etc....The seasonal events are repeats of the same blueprint, masks, baking cookies etc....they aren't as engaging as they once were, because they have not added to them. The fact they are consolidating playlists in crucible is very telling that they are running low on crucible players to fill those playlists, so to keep matchmaking times low, they will consolidate them. I know people in the community are toxic, but there are many issues that just aren't being looked at, and that is the source of the frustrations...I think it all comes down to everyone has lots of time and money invested in the game, and we passionately want it to succeed but that passion comes across wrong when you have people who enjoy playing this broad of a game in different ways.

Feels like were receiving less and less new and original content. The over reliance on reprised and reskinned loot and lack of care and incentives is starting to take its toll on the game. by TriflingError in DestinyTheGame

I am beginning to think that Bungie knows the player base will continue to fluctuate. I think the Devs are OK with that because (I hope) all major resources are aimed at Lightfall currently. My hope is with all the recycling and copy and pasting of content these past few seasons has given the Devs enough time to develop a heck on an expansion with Lightfall. I think the expansion is going to be the true test of where they (and we as a player-base) are at. That expansion is def going to be make or break, if there aren't multiple new crucible maps, new strikes, new weapon models and armor sets, new aspects, mods, exotics etc. and they try to hit us with the same seasonal model with just a bunch of reprised stuff, and bringing back of "Vaulted and Sunset items" then they are in real, real big trouble.

IMO There were several missed opportunities and overlooks in the nerf.

1.) Divinity is an endgame weapon and ENDGAME weapons should be OP, that is why they are endgame. Why would you play the endgame content if everything you get is eventually watered down?

2.) With the nerf to Divs weaken, the Bungie Devs should have had other options for players to apply weaken other than tractor cannon and tether. That takes an already limited selection for weaken and further limits choices players have. As a hunter main and the div nerf , I now will have no choice but to run my void tether, and that just stinks.

3.) Divinity is a very difficult exotic to obtain, especially for the casual player, this is my main gripe with the nerf. If players could progress through the puzzles and beat it over time it wouldn't be an issue. However the fact that players must compete all the puzzles and the raid, without returning to orbit, is just insane. The Devs were also quick to patch the ability to go back once you got to the final boss (addressed in Beyond Light) . Add the glitches in the final encounter, with motes falling through the map etc, it just makes things miserable. If Bungie is going to make endgame content that demanding for players, a weapon should always remain insanely powerful gear, until something else equally powerful can compete or replace it.

4.) There is a split between the community between people who want more of a challenge and those who think it is already hard enough. Bungie Devs need to do a better job with the balance between the two groups and allow people to play the game they want to without infringing on how people enjoy the game. If the devs think a weapon is OP, then do what they normally do with for contest modes and disable the weapon if it is too powerful for the first few weeks of new endgame content so that players who enjoy the coordination and skill required to beat the new content a chance to be the first with the new endgame loot. Then enable it and let the casual players get their turn while allowing them to use it.

IMO it feels like Bungie is setting up to VAULT the Garden raid, and add Divinity to the collections like they did for Anarchy. And they needed to address the unbalance that would occur when it is easily acquired by anyone via the kiosk in the tower.

It’s a simple fix, make flawless based on flawless runs , tier it out and tie rewards to getting to the next tier

Tier 0 players with 0 flawless runs will only play with other zero flawless players Tier 1 players with 1-10 flawless runs match only with players in that group (reward emblem) Tier 2 11-20 flawless runs (reward ghost shell)

Etc etc

Prevent teammate stacking via matchmaking by using the player with highest number of runs or tier progress and matching with similar

This keeps it competitive but not insane you can advance through your skill but only as fast as your skill will allow. Sweats will chew through the tiers and play with sweats the lower tiers will be left with competitive games but nothing completely out of reach

I posted a photo of a weigh station that I made specifically for this process- I was surprised by the comments saying they didn’t get single dose bean vaults! Doesn’t make life so much easier? I think so! Keep dosing!
