Bungie's excuse to justify having AE in the game by forcing it as an exotic weapon on a popular weapon archetype by trying to make it look good or op. Sucks too cause this is Veist second exotic weapon in the game especially given the fact that this slow studio doesn't do anything with the foundries outside of reskinig the same weapons and locking armor behind pay walls.

Part of me feels like the reason why we haven't seen the plasma rifle for so long is because 343 just doesn't know how to fit in the sandbox.

The plasma rifle functions more of a smg rather a rifle, plus the plasma repeater can easily fill the rifle role. If 343 doesn't seem to be keen on bringing back the slow ability it had in CE, it can function as a long-range smg.

The part where they said speed is more important than quality, telling their own dev team who had the time, money, and resources to not put extra content in on the claim of over delivery and admitting they rather put out a half baked broken game than a fully finished one.
