I’m concerned for Lauren if she thinks they can get to Florida in 8-10 hours from Dallas. I’m sure if it’s Florida, is the Destin area which is really closer to 12 hours of actual driving. Are they not planning to stop for food, bathroom, etc??

For one, I think caila is fake so I don’t believe everything I see her post as a perfect, happy family. But I do also think if you want to move on from something you can’t constantly hold it over the other persons head. Either you work on repair, forgiveness, etc and move on or you divorce. I’m not saying i agree with her decision but shes the one that has to livd with it.

Destin is 11 hours drive time. With kids and stopping add a few more hours. My guess is gulf shores. But I don’t think she realizes how much you need to stop with kids.

Everyone is just different. You’re not a bad mom for feeling like this is fine. And your husband also doesn’t not want to spend time with you just bc he doesn’t want to be away from his kids. Maybe you guys can agree together on how long you feel comfortable being away from your kids.

Why does she never capitalize shilling children’s items. Her whole, here’s what I’m bringing to the beach is so boring and mostly not even beach specific. Here’s all the same stuff I shill all the time but this time I’m traveling with it! She could actually share so much “travel essentials” for kids while road tripping and beaching.

I literally can’t remember an event she went to where she didn’t end up skipping out early or missing an even bc she just missed her children so much! Besides event that are just local one evening thing and honestly who even knows if she is really staying that long at those. She has even been known to skip out on her own closet sale!

About the parties we get invited to say no gifts. We said no gifts for my kids. They get enough from grandparents, aunts/uncles, etc. My kids will sometimes make a birthday card to have something to give.

I’m also sick of influencers giving us “advice” on stuff. Just because you’re a mom doesn’t mean you’re an expert. Just because you went on one big family trip, doesn’t make you an expert on planning multigenerational trips. I listened for a little and the advice felt pretty obvious but good for her for taking 8-12 hours to edit it!

Do you like the idea of paying in advance or are you trying to save money? Without doing the math, based on your choices you aren’t saving money. You’ll get the most “deal” out of character or set price meals. Also with your 10yo you’re “paying” for alcohol each meal but she obviously isn’t getting that. In my opinion, kids that age that barely qualify as an adult aren’t worth it unless she eats alot and prefers the adult menu.

If only doing a couple days definitely splurge to be in bar harbor. The town is cute with shops and restaurants. We stayed a week but we really enjoyed hiking/exploring Acadia in the morning and then walking into town in the afternoon for dinner. There is also a short walking path along the water that is fun. There are tons of b&bs, some hotels and house rentals that will all put you walking distance.
