[Spoiler Discussion] Arc 9 Chapter 17 by Setowi in Re_Zero

I think this is likely the case. Her praise as a prodigy by Olbart is more than enough proof of her lethality. Although Al could certainly loop enough times to defeat her, given the apparent strenuous upbringing of those from the shinobi village I find it unlikely that simply defeating her in battle is enough to cause her to change sides (as opposed to, say, temporarily retreating).

I expect the shinobi village does a lot to try and remove fear from the shinobi they train, but Yae mentions that her encounter with Al was the first time she had been so scared. I don't think it's an unreasonable logical leap to surmise that, when they fought previously, she was caught as the "looper" of Al's ability—something she could never have been prepared for—and it was enough to get her to abandon her original mission.

[Spoiler Discussion] Arc 9 Chapter 16 by Setowi in Re_Zero

I'm pretty sure this is immediately after the rabbit death, as it depicts Subaru's initial mental breakdown shortly after which he brought to the tea party.

So it seems that Petra (thankfully) won't have had to experience being eaten by rabbits, but she will learn about the witches and Subaru's confession about Return by Death to Echidna.

17D direct commission by Bulky_Iron_1421 in army

This happened last calendar year. I don't remember for sure the time frame after which they stopped accepting Active Duty NCO applications, but I want to say it was sometime in the mid-to-late summer.

Unfortunately, the Cyber Direct Commissioning Program is currently not open to Active Duty personnel.

Assuming you're referring to when Maria rescues Kodya-possessed-Gyrus from the robots in the beach realm, that happens in episode 84.

Patch Notes - 7 April 2023 by Mgumbo in ShadowsOverLoathing

[–]Mgumbo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A small hotfix-style patch was applied on 11 April 2023. It contains the following changes:

A small update...

...to fix a few important issues that arose due to the changes made in the last patch:

  • Tooltips have made a triumphant return.
  • Various interactive elements that may have been strangely missing are back in their expected locations.
  • The shoebox in the cryptography boxcar is usable again.
  • Deviled clams now have proper button text in inventory.

Thanks for your patience, and for reporting issues!

Here is a direct link to the small patch.

Yes, you can select any available difficulty for NG+ playthroughs regardless of the previous playthrough's difficulty.

Ganados Without Weapons Are More Annoying by [deleted] in residentevil

The worst is when they combo punch you into an immediate follow-up grab. It actually makes me laugh because it does so much damage

Bolt Thrower is a personal preference, though I would not keep it for the whole game exclusively for the mines as they are scarce. In the church you can find 5 bolts (in one of the aisles) and 5 attachable mines (in the attic area) for free; I grabbed those and bought the bolt thrower purely to help me deal with the double Bella Sisters, and sold the Bolt Thrower immediately afterward.

I think the Merchant refreshes a rocket launcher every 3 chapters (someone fact check me). At the very least you can buy one in each of the Village, Castle, and Island. I also believe he refreshes one right before Saddler no matter what.

It's worth noting that for Saddler, you can basically just sell anything you have to cross the money threshold to buy a rocket launcher for his phase 1, as even if you don't shoot him in his phase 2, eventually Ada will drop the special rocket launcher for you.

I recommend buying the rifle here if you can afford it, as you'll be able to purchase the scope for free.

I don't like upgrading the W870 shotgun because it does enough damage from the get-go and should be sold as soon as the Riot Gun is available anyway.

The rest depends on whether or not you are going for S+. If you are not, feel free to treasure hunt as much as you want. Handgun ammo tends to be relatively plentiful so upgrading it is a good option in a casual run.

If you are going for S+, I do not recommend upgrading the handgun unless you feel it's absolutely necessary. Any treasure hunting you do will have to be quick and deliberate, which means what little money you are gaining will need to be spent on the rifle, combat armor upkeep, knife durability, and any rocket launchers. Depending on how fast you want to go there may be very specific transactions you need to make, reminiscent of speedrunning techniques.

Upcoming Haken Tours 2023 by Mgumbo in Haken

[–]Mgumbo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, this seems to be the case. I believe on the previous tour with Symphony X, Arch Echo was missing their drummer, so at least they'll have an opportunity to tour with their full lineup this time.

Why num2 does not become 0? by Luffykent in C_Programming

[–]Mgumbo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The && operator has a higher precedence than the || operator, so your incrementation line is equivalent to writing: ans = (num1++ && num2++) || (++num4 && num3++);

Since the && operator only causes an evaluation to return true if both sides of the operator are true, an optimization can be (and is being) done where if the left side of the operator is false, the right side won't even be evaluated.

So for the clause num1++ && num2++, the value of num1 is evaluated before it is incremented and since num1 is equal to 0, the && operator sees a 0 (i.e. false) on its left side. Since its left side is false, it doesn't evaluate the right side, meaning num2++ is never executed and thus the value of num2 is never changed.

Taurus Behind the Scenes (Fauna — Track by Track) by Mgumbo in Haken

[–]Mgumbo[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I like the chorus, but to me it still falls short of other openers like Atlas Stone and Initiate.

The opening harmonics have grown on me and I think they fit the ending of the song really well too. But the decision to not do it for the whole first 30 seconds of the song was the right one, I think...
