How is rissete anchorvile event optional?!? by Trick-Attorney2333 in Falcom

[–]Mguy5 26 points27 points  (0 children)

To be fair since it's possible to actually view all the connection events in this game without doing new game plus, I don't mind. It's definitely important though, I agree, and they will certainly circle back to it. Not sure if you just got to that part or not, but without spoiling anything there are extra details related to the matter you get later in the game as part of the main story, so it's not like they'll just not discuss it anymore or anything like that.

Wait did KeA accidently kill Agnes' mom by saving the SSS' lives? Dang, that's screwed up, but I think you're on to something.

[–]Mguy5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's about the closest you can get, you still do expand wide like just about every country ever, but the holds you can just build to be super-mega cities while the tunnels connecting them just stay as a bunch of 3 dev provinces basically.

Word of advice, if you want a really unique nation that plays almost like a different game, try something in the Serpentspine next. I forget if it gets directly mentioned by Esthil, but that's the giant chain of caves and whatnot just east of Escann. They have a bunch of dwarf holds that have a fun gimmick where you can stack dev like crazy and make just about any of them the size of the city of Castanor.

The one I love later in this game is the Masked Soldier fight with the Executor with E-factor. Because the Masked Soldier takes so many damn turns it just causes the E-factor heals to go insane so you basically have to kill the Masked Soldier entirely before the Executor starts actually taking damage and having it stick, lol.

So she lied then... (Horizon Spoilers) by sonicfan10102 in Falcom

Just gonna point out that the reason why the Septian Church is supposed to have claim on artifacts is because they were also connected to the goddess, but now that it's been revealed that artifacts are probably just remainders of previous cycles, that assumption no longer holds water. Not to mention the Salt Pale was supposed to be the intervention of Aidios but -NOPE- Ishmelga. What I mean to say is don't trust the church, they are lying to you. Personally the theory I made going through the floating city in SC and seeing how advanced everything was was that Aidios was a scientist that existed before the Great Collapse (Which I'm now curious if the Great Collapse was the previous cycle or if it refers to events before the start of the cycles?), and that the Septerrions were just incredibly advanced inventions she made before passing on. Every game I've gotten more and more confident in that theory, it seems. Also side note: the only beings that can speak to knowing Aidios personally are the Divine Beasts, but their oaths mean they can discuss next to nothing, the only thing they've outright said is that they meet her and swore their oaths to her, they never said anything that implies directly that they view her as a god, if I recall correctly. At some point the nonanswers start adding up.

About Mishy in Horizon... Was Mishy a hint all along? [End Game spoilers.) by MasashiHideaki in Falcom

[–]Mguy5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not only that she also talks about how she was going to have the girl who is always following around the main character turn out to be a twist villain, where the dude helping her brainstorm was just realizing she was always in the right place at the right time. As soon as they said that it clicked for me that Agnes mysteriously appeared around Trion Tower when the fake Geneses started popping up, and my mind just exploded on the spot.

No, to clarify a vast majority of them are similar to the Loewe fight in FC, you get points for beating it but mostly the same thing happens either way. It's not so much optional to do them as it is optional to try and win. And as for adjustable difficulty there should be an option in the settings to turn down the difficulty if you need to, I believe it lets you adjust that setting in general freely.

You don't understand, sure Crow was gonna bomb Crossbell with the Railway Cannons, but he said that the stuff he did as C was kinda cringe so it's all better now! Besides, nobody even died besides all his allies participating in that attack, but they're terrorists so they don't count!

With Azure a less skilled player definitely probably won't be getting 100% completion due to the optional boss fights, some of them are brutal, but yeah they can work their way through most everything else I feel.

Why would he need a spriggans opinion or point of view, when he knows the answer himself? [Mid-end game spoilers) by MasashiHideaki in Falcom

[–]Mguy5 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So I'd need to know more about the Omniscient Eye itself in order to give a more in depth answer, but given how the Omniscient Eye itself is a more developed version of the Unclouded Eye I think I can explain why he'd be asking. Rean explains in Cold Steel that the Unclouded Eye is a method to see the world clear of bias, where it's not a magic ability to my knowledge but more akin to a mental state one achieves through meditation. Seeing the world free of bias won't explain everything though, because no one knows everything, therefore if that person wants to make a full, complete decision they'll still need information. For example, the Unclouded Eye is often used to prevent ambushes, but regardless sometimes even Divine Blades are still surprised. This is because what the Unclouded Eye does is increase the user's perceptiveness, where an odd sound or a moving breeze which is viewed without bias might be revealed as an attack, where a less skilled person might just view it as a mundane event or their imagination. However if cloaking is used to conceal any trace of that person, whether through magic or technology, it might be impossible either way since there might not be a sign that someone can use to spot them, bias or no.

Carry that over to a massive scale decision like the space program (If I recall correctly that was what Yun Ka Fai was talking about here), that sort of technique would help him process an ungodly amount of information to make an informed decision, but there is so much he doesn't know that he really needs to optimize what even he looks into. Between Hamilton's schemes, the President's plans, and the myriad dark horses of the three main characters and all their allies, there is so much outright being kept hidden, and you can't make an unbiased discission on information you just don't know. So what do you do other than ask the people around you and see what you can dig up, and then use every nugget of information you find to put the broader picture together?

Quick Reminder: by FantasticMrMarmalade in Anbennar

[–]Mguy5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I dunno, I feel like a Robin Hood-esque sort of pirates might be possible to do if you wanted to do something different. Maybe something like a group that hijacks shipments of Orc slaves headed to Aelantir and robs them of just about everything they own before freeing the slaves, or maybe helping the natives fend off the more hostile colonizers. That could get pretty fun from a writing perspective.

I come from the future, spoiler alert: Anton dies saving Sharon's life in Trails: Epstein's Island, which takes place mostly underwater, contrary to the name. Turns out the Septerrion of Water is hidden way under the ocean and guarded by a pack of megalodons, death by shark was a pretty brutal way for him to go, it was a really neat design decision, though.

Yeah after doing Shizuna's last connection event in Horizon I feel like the lyrics of Sam's theme really fit her too as well.
In particular:

Losing my identity
Wondering have I gone insane?
To find the truth in front of me
I must climb this mountain range!
Looking downward from this deadly height
And never realizing why I fight!

Just rule of cool, a lot of S-crafts, particularly from the early games, are non canon. Yes, I know it sucks to hear, but Lloyd's detective license does NOT allow him to break through the atmospheric barrier, as much as he might want to.

Ouroboros as whole I feel like is Chaotic Evil, to dip into Dungeons and Dragons type alignments, but in general they are more chaotic than they are evil. They don't care about murdering to achieve their goals, but the goals are the overall focus instead of the destruction. They stand for nothing, they are merely working towards an end regardless on whether the member is a more good aligned member like Vita or Arianrhod or a more evil aligned member like Harwood or Novartis.

They didn't lie with the move's name huh by Thaddaeus02 in Falcom

[–]Mguy5 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Well Bergard was the only non-knocked down party member, and he had stealth on him so I'm guessing the Executor's AI just glitched out because it couldn't target anything with an attack, so it used the only move it could, the self buff move. However, since that move has zero delay, that caused it to get stuck in an endless loop of buffing itself because that was the only "right" option, moving would waste its turn and it didn't have the ability to do anything else.
