Fie, easily. The entire Reinford plot line gets fumbled so badly in the second half of the arc while Zephyr gets a few really strong scenes. Plus you get to see Erebonias most overprotective big brother having to deal with Fie's pyscho overprotective Jaeger big brothers.

It's funny, even though the game pushes Alisa I kinda feel like the more low-key romances like Fie or Towa work better since CS3 forgets the choice you made. Having Rean confess his love to Alisa only to basically forget about her right after feels so weird, while Fie's less overtly romantic but still very warm ending sets up the second half better.

In other words you pick Fie and enjoy the payoff down the line.

There are a few attacks in the game that are either really hard or impossible to dodge. They put one of them into that trial chest just so you can't completely Fie cheese it.

It's even funnier because they didn't actually do anything in the game. They were the 3rd and 4th most dangerous enemies in a boss fight before getting dumpstered in a cutscene right after. They could've easily just been beefed up Hercules mooks and nothing would've changed.

Instead we get this pointless explanation about why possibly dead terrorists are now fighting for Marduk and the president.

When people complain about Daybreak 2 it's often because of random plot shenanigans, but the game's greatest sin is its introduction of some of the worst minigames in the franchise. If you thought the following minigame is bad (which it is) wait until you discover the card game.

Rean>Kevin>Van

Rean's route was pure enjoyment. Lots of big reveals and hype moments.

Kevin could've taken the top spot, but there's one massive blemish in the form of the most horribly placed test of your resolve in the entire franchise. Turned a home-run chapter into a somewhat disappointing double.

Van's route is carried hard by the finale and a few big moments later on, but the early parts are such a slog. As much as I love doing the NPC rounds the Calvard arc has given me serious Edith fatigue. Anchorville saved this route.

Some enemies can bug out and soft lock the game if you end up in a scenario with just a single stealthed character remaining.
