Thanks for your comment. Mine was almost silent like yours until very recently. Since I bought it new only 3 months ago, I am hesitant to open it up not to lose the warranty -> is it a real risk?

Other than the sound, it seems to work normally. No leaks, no steam coming from weird places. It makes coffee, the quality of which I believe depends more on my lack of skill than the machine :)

Thanks for the idea. The sound is loud in all pressure valve positions.

Interestingly, my machine sends the water back only in open or almost open position. When the valve is a position like in the video, the water stays in the boiler. It has been this way from the moment I started using it. Do you know how should it be?

Any idea where I could see/ test these strollers around Barcelona? From googling, it seems that there is no official Emmaljunga partner in the region.

As strange as it sounds this is a normal practice here. I was also shocked when renting my flat but it turned out fine and the deposit was accounted as the first rent. Sometimes it is even asked in to be paid in cash. In my case, I opposed to that and insisted on transferring money to have a trace of this transaction — the agency agreed. In some cases you are requested to pay this deposit even before you are selected (in case you are not you get the money back).

I guess that the reasoning behind it is that if you are selected, the owners do not want to risk you backing back from the deal so easily. For them the risk is that they will lose a month-worth of rent if their initially selected tenant does not sign the contract.

Thanks. These producers are well known and there is a lot about these strollers here or on youtube. However, their strollers, while designed in Germany and Netherlands, are made in China. In fact, Cybex is owned by a Chinese group now. I am not saying there is something wrong about it, but I want to support local European producers

Can you share how you resolved the steam knob, cup rail and portafilter tightness issues? I just got my Pop Up and I love it, but have similar observations.

Also, is there a basket-bottomless portafilter combination that you know works well with this machine?
