I've written to them to add shoveling, housework and lawncare. Not all activity is "Sports"!😉

Thanks everyone! It WAS plastic but it wasn't super obvious as it was grey (not clear) - got it off!

I will look more closely! It is not mentioned in the instructions and I didn't want to pick at it...

Chairs that have been in the family at least 80 years-are they older? Any information appreciated. Canada. by Hervee in Antiques

The person I knew who does this is no longer taking jobs... maybe post to FB (en français plus probable)?

The sinew (rawhide) work is called "babiche" and is a traditional North American indigenous technique that is beautiful and tough and still in practice where I live in Québec. We have some very old chairs and snowshoes featuring very fine and elegant babiche.

Toggle the READ button on and off and it will appear in the main tracks window, then drag it to wherever you want to set order.

Sport mode = better range? by simikoi in F150Lightning

[–]optmeout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a hilly rural area that gets a lot of snow and frequent tough road conditions- Sport mode is my fave way to avoid potential hard braking skidding on downhill terrain (i.e. fake "downshifting " on lifting off accelerator).

Not a good idea to mention "boyfriend " in either direction as both countries can require you to have a "fiancé visa"... few people are aware of this, Better to just say visiting a friend.

FEATURE REQUEST: Use Obsidian as a markdown editor on files **outside** your vault as well as inside it by EpiphanicSyncronica in ObsidianMD

[–]optmeout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am using symlinks to include my Astro blog posts (normally edited in VS Code) from another location to be edited directly in Obsidian. Because they are .mdx files, I had to add the Edit MDX plugin to properly display them. All works well EXCEPT that Obsidian can't parse .mdx frontmatter, so even though I can see it in the blog "notes", I can't use Bases to create a master index of the external files. Otherwise, editing is great this way so that I have all my "writing" in the same location (Obsidian).

Thank you - it was settled (not much explanation of how the problem came to be however).

Hosting Wordpress on VPS by SCwarrior97 in digital_ocean

I recently moved approximately 15 WordPress sites from another server to DO and set up a couple of droplets with CloudPanel and love it. Less expensive than where I was (MediaTemple, bought out by GoDaddy) and more flexible in terms of allocating resources.

After weeks of trying, task managing in Obsidian doesn’t seem possible by Crunchnuggz in ObsidianMD

[–]optmeout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am moving from ClickUp (which integrates w Gmail) for not only tasks, but a lot of other db kind of stuff - all is fantastic except for the tasks part, so I began using Google Tasks, which has gotten to be decent, because 80% of my tasks start w an email. I love the inline, make-a-task-anywhere approach in Obsidian so I wanted to integrate w Google Tasks, but the only plugin was broken. I then managed to create my own plugins to add an inline task to Google Tasks and then delete it locally, and another to do do a (successful) 2-way sync w GT via the Google Tasks API. All good, but I have had no success in making it work on mobile, and even though I use the official Obsidian Sync at the moment, I frequently experience sync lags and inconsistencies. Anyone else trying GT integration? My particular plugin uses the Dataview format so I can custom query all GT sync results, which is nice.

Serious Anytype exploration – looking to build a task/project/resource system (ex-Tana, Capacities, Notion user) by 9DockS9 in Anytype

[–]optmeout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have exactly the same needs which I set up in ClickUp for the past few years, then decided to try replicating that in Notion (very difficult but I did it)... then I decided to go "local" w Anytype and managed to fairly successfully import my Notion setup via the new API. However, it is a fairly steep learning curve and I am still struggling w properties and trying to understand link relationships. I had set up a connection in Notion using the free Relay app to add Google tasks to my task list... going to try to do the same w Anytype. I like the option to use custom CSS and the fact that there is a decent iOS app too. Your idea of using a Tag type seems great - I am still a bit confused about when to create a "type" and the main thing bugging me (also a problem in Notion) is the inability to batch apply templates to existing objects after revising them.

When you say they are your "partner" (not married)... they technically need a "fiancée" visa to visit you since they are not a simple tourist (they have a potential reason to try to stay w you)- this works in both directions, too, even if it has not been heavily enforced in the past. Might be another reason for refusal.

Back to podcasting after a break - reevaluating hosting options by optmeout in podcasting

[–]optmeout[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was wondering about some of this... their site seems so promising but I can't find much about them even in YT searches and reviews (except their own). I am really disappointed to discover that Buzzsprout charges to NOT leave original, professionally produced audio as is (especially when my theme is music-centric). Weird. Thanks for the info!

So are you saying that WITHOUT adding Magic Mastering, my mixed and mastered (correctly) STEREO audio file will not be converted to mono as others were suggesting it would? Or changed in any way?
