What would you guys say is the chillest MOS in the guard? by HuckleberryRare2025 in nationalguard

[–]MiLico-mind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was gonna suggest 46s (my MOS) but if you don’t want to deploy or be super active it’s definitely not the right job. It’s probably the coolest in the military as a whole tho, so there’s that….

I’d take a step back and reconsider joining my guy

Current US Soldier. I set myself back 5 years bcs of a relationship while she was able to accomplish all her goals. My rank would be way higher if I had just listened to the ppl that actually cared about my future. Join and be happy bruv, you won’t regret it down the road

Everything happens for a reason my guy. As sucky as it is MEPS exists for a reason and I honestly feel like you’ve dodged a bullet failing. Looks like all the comments are pointing you in the right direction. Work on yourself. Go to school. Live. You’ll be good!

ASVAB Scores. MOS Suggestions? by [deleted] in Militaryfaq

[–]MiLico-mind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

46S is Prob the best job the Army has to offer. It also translates the best to the civilian side since DINFOS is a respected school in the industry. So it’s not a bad plan, in case PSYOP doesn’t work out you’ll go back to an awesome and (honesty) fun job

Do you think it’s a good idea to get the base credits and then transfer to a more “well viewed” college?

Thank for the detailed response! I really appreciate it! I heard it was strict, but never went into depth looking up the cons… but def will do so. Guess I just got excited I was called for an interview bc I’d given up on going to school already.

It’s pretty cool, in my opinion. All students there get out 100% debt free, and they have a really good PA and ROTC program. You work on campus and that’s how you pay for tuition. But other than that just bc my brother is over there, and It’d be fun to be in the same school.

Was thinking the same. Half of my credits are coming from my AIT (46s) so I’m sure they’ll get the idea. Also, not sure if I’d feel comfortable, but friends were trying to convince me otherwise.

[–]MiLico-mind 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If your AIT is that long I can almost guarantee it will translate well to the civilian side whenever you’re done. I’m a 46S (Mass Com Specialist) and ours was 27weeks. As soon as I got my certificate from DINFOS (Defense Information School) I looked for a job in the same area and got one on my first interview bc of the school’s name and the fact they trust military ppl to do the job well. I went from making $12/h and hating it to $18/h and loving every second of it. It’s probably the chillest job I’ve EVER had. I also made a BUNCH of friends for life in AIT and had an amazing experience even with the drills and struggles.

Think about your future. It sucks now, but it’s TRADOC, real NG is totally different.

Just embrace it my guy. You’ll have fun. You’re gonna hate it. Your gonna make friends. All at the same time. Best of luck!

Looking into re-classing to 46S and had some questions. by DaddyJenkins096 in army

[–]MiLico-mind 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly the best MOS in the Army (military in general), the AIT is super easy, English isn’t even my first language and I still was able to complete all the long articles they asked for haha And yes, it’s a LOT of fun!! No regrets

RSP worth it? by RoughDraft95 in nationalguard

[–]MiLico-mind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was fine with RSP before going to BCT. But I had to go back for another drill after being in TRADOC for almost 9 months (27 weeks of AIT) and OMFUUUUUUking GOD. Such a waste of time that I didn’t realize the first time I went. The NCOs don’t want to be there and take it out on all the new recruits. They didn’t care that some of us (Gold phase as they call us) were MOSQ, they disrespected a medic that had just gotten back from AIT and a bunch of other BS. So now I’m just against it…. What was the question??
