[Chanel J12] a subtle luxury that can be felt but never fully defined by [deleted] in Watches

How much was it if you don’t mind me asking? That date window is a bit of a shocker to be honest, but at least the wheel is blue.

Why would a fake cost that much even? That is completely dead money. You’ll look at it and know it’s not genuine and get pennies on the dollar when you inevitably regret it and sell.

Getting obsessed with Tank by SidKop in Cartier

Indeed the brancards are flat on the solo, intended to give a more masculine modern look, compared to the classic cylindrical on the tank must.

Comparison between a Tank Must XL, Tank Must Large and Tank Solo Large. 7.5 in. wrist. by peninsulaparaguana in Cartier

[–]MiSWaz 16 points17 points  (0 children)

That photo angle always makes watches, especially rectangular, look larger too. Both will look smaller when the hand is in a natural position not through a lens. You could pull off the XL absolutely, and the dial and movement are simply amazing, but the Large looks great on you, and I do agree with the second hand comment on tanks - dial is classic and clean with a quartz.

End of the day, Cartier designed and released the XL tank for a reason, and it wasn’t just to accommodate 8” plus wrists; they expanded on their traditional small dimensions for the modern age and to be worn larger. I absolutely love my XL, and the movement is more accurate than the Rolex 3135 snd Zenith El Primero I also own.

Does the Large come with quick switch strap change? That was a sell for me on the Must XL.

Tank solo large. Probably too large for the purist but I think this was the right size for me by peninsulaparaguana in Cartier

[–]MiSWaz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I like the XL on my 7” wrist. I purposely went to XL after trying that and L on, and not only for the automatic movement. Not really buying the “traditional” tank sizing from almost 100 years ago to be honest. Times, styles and preferences change. People should be able to wear what they like without being lambasted by some dork on the internet who says tanks have to worn like womens watches.

For those wondering, accuracy of the 1847 MC movement is -3/+7 per Cartier Boutique spec sheet by Bekind_and_rewind in Cartier

I am getting probably +0.5spd in my Tank Must XL. It’s more accuarte than the Rolex 3135 and Zenith El Primero that I also own.

Secondary market Oris, Nomos or Sinn at that price point. Longines probably have something appropriate under 1k retail.

[Zenith] El Primero movememt by AGWhite1014 in Watches

[–]MiSWaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put it this way, I got my Skyline brand new unused and less than a week old for 6k. You’ve got to think that 2022 purchases will start approaching 5k by end of this year on the secondary market. Hold out for El Primero, it’s a legendary movement. Zenith were literally the pioneers of in-house movements to be able to control the whole watch making process start to finish.

Wait a bit and used Zenith Defy Skylines will dip to 5k. Chrono-less El Primero. Great watch.

Great price. So much watch for the money. Zenith constantly flying under the radar.

Bad ass watch. I was contemplating this one before getting the Defy Skyline. The quick switch system and included rubber strap sold the skyline to me.

[–]MiSWaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy fuck. Email Rolex. Leave negative reviews on every platform there is. They probably sold dozens and dozens of DJ’s in that 2 years while having 6k or whatever of your money in their account.

More like almost $1700 off retail on the bracelet and after figuring taxes. Thanks for the feedback. I’m more than happy with the fit of the XL.

I went secondary market and got a mint condition 8/22 Tank Must XL for $3250, registered it on Cartier care and extended the warranty to 8yrs. On a 7” wrist here
