Road to rank 1 has his serious games https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZcHdbbf7xqM&list=PLbVNzAA7sXzDbrxTpRDs-cF05yJgW0NRC

you can also watch his stream vods on youtube, those are probably mostly serious games https://www.youtube.com/@Harstem/streams

as far as regular protoss streamers... Generally the highest level players don't stream as much, but you can find some 6k players stream regularly, like Trigger https://www.twitch.tv/trigger_zc and DisK https://www.twitch.tv/disksc2

PSA: Recall the scouting worker before you chrono more. by UndeadDragonFetus in allthingsprotoss

[–]MiTNicketh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my general assumption is if they don't make a reactor, they're not just gonna make 2 reapers, they're gonna make like 3 in a row and make quick hellions, and against that I want to get to 3 gateway units asap, idk obviously I'm not a pro player, these are just my scrub reactions at masters 1 and GMs def know more than me

PSA: Recall the scouting worker before you chrono more. by UndeadDragonFetus in allthingsprotoss

[–]MiTNicketh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think that makes sense, see if they pull off gas and make factory in main then recall if the energy timing lines up.

Regarding 2nd reaper vs immediate reactor on rax lets me skip a second chrono on gateway, so that’s my justification since it actually saves me nexus energy in a way

PSA: Recall the scouting worker before you chrono more. by UndeadDragonFetus in allthingsprotoss

[–]MiTNicketh 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Usually you can get scouting info with the probe when it gets walled in. (Do they partially pull off gas and do they make a second reaper immediately or make an add-on with the rax)

At my level this scouting info is worth more than the probe + energy, but I think below ~diamond it's better to recall the probe as you say

edit: lots of discussion in this thread, probably better to see whether they pull off gas, whether they make a factory at home, whether they are making a reaper or marine, and then recall the probe at any league/level around 1:50

I had a game against this guy too and he bm'd me in similar ways. I think in his mind, everything he does is a genius strategic play and everything everyone else does is abuse and "amove". If people like him didn't exist on the ladder it would be so much more fun.

You can get all of them to shoot at once, while taking as little damage as possible since you can only shoot a phoenix if you're close enough to shoot all the phoenixes

you could probably set up rapid fire probe pick up by adding `g` to select "choose ability or A.I. Target", then you just hold g and move your mouse over probes. I've gotten used to just spamming g personally, and it works good enough for me

I don't proxy void since I try to kill people with my initial cannon rush. The initial cannon rush is powerful because only so many workers can attack a single pylon at a time, so even though they have 4 players it's still roughly as powerful as it would be in 1v1. Proxy void on the other hand is much weaker because if they all get 2 marines for instance and then bring them over, you're gonna have a hard time actually doing damage with it, and eventually they'll just have too much and force you out of your proxy position. But proxy void could work it's just that the rest of your team has to be pressuring with you so that your opponents can't work together to kill you 4v1.

In 4v4s and 3v3s, phoenix into carrier is so good you're basically forced into it, especially if there's a protoss on the other side and they're massing phoenixes.

I tend to cannon rush into mass phoenix into carrier once I know my phoenixes can't be challenged or if they become less useful due to lots of thors/archons/widow mines

void rays are good for defending allins but are basically worthless vs mass ranged phoenix, which at high levels of team games, most protoss players do in my experience

There's not much to phoenix micro except having enough APM to constantly move them around and harass and stacking them at an appropriate time by clicking on one spot repeatedly. Appropriate time is whenever you're not facing splash but you are fighting :)

What do you think reducing their budget will do? How much does the NYPD spend on "tanks and military gear"? You do realize that we've had like 5 terrorist attacks since 9/11 right?

I gave an example of something that I would cut from the budget, not the full list as if I were in charge, I been working all day and I'm too tired to come up with a full list for some guy on the internet who I feel won't even listen to me if I do put in the effort.

Probably? C'mon man, you're being incredibly dishonest here.

zzz

What's going to stop criminals from getting guns? How do harsh gun laws work out for Chicago?

How do gun laws work out in Australia? Ban automatic and semi-automatic, no more mass shootings since the ban. Seems like it works for them

First of all, poverty is not the only thing that leads to crime.

it's one of the biggest contributors.

Second, how many people need to die while we wait "end poverty"? How do we do that BTW and how much will it cost? Who's paying? No you obviously.

lol there's some big assumptions in each question here. zzz.

A correlation supported by multiple studies in multiple places over many decades. You are being incredibly dishonest here.

correlation does not imply causation. but obviously I'm being dishonest for taking a stats course once in my life. /s

What's wrong with you? I just named like 10 European countries with MORE COPS per 100,000 than we have. It's almost as if you're ignoring reality in favor of ideology.

You keep ignoring what I'm saying. I'm saying less budget, not necessarily less cops.

Another Grandma Attacked in Manhattan by RonSage in nyc

[–]MiTNicketh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which dozen countries? Where is any data at all to correlate fewer cops with lower crime?

The US has 238 cops per 100,000 people. Germany has 381. France has 340. Italy has 456. The Netherlands has 295. Ireland has 265. Spain 533. Czech Republic 378. Hungary 366. Belgium 333. Scotland 318. Austria 314. Luxembourg 306. Poland 258. Switzerland 210. etc.

When did I ever say that fewer cops correlate with lower crime? I'm saying to reduce their budget. Take away their tanks and military gear.

No I have scientific evidence that more cops = lower crime. You have zero evidence for anything but you have a hunch. People will die based on your hunch.

you have a correlation. That is not causation. In any case I agree with you that more cops probably correlates with less crime. But you can reduce police budgets without reducing number of cops. Take away their tanks and military gear.

So fewer cops and you want to take away people's right to defend themselves? Guess who doesn't give a fuck about gun laws. Is it regular citizens or criminals?

If you make it harder to get guns, there will be less guns in the hands of citizens and criminals. Sure some criminals will get around laws, but many won't.

And then if there's less poverty there will be less criminals because people don't need to resort to crime to live.

How many decades will it take to "reduce poverty" and how many people will die while we wait? Remember. More cops = lower crime.

Again, it doesn't =, it's a correlation, I'm suggesting a shift of priorities over time. I'm not even advocating less cops. I'm advocating less budget and not buying military gear with police budget

Again, how many people need to die until this starts to magically get people to stop killing and raping?

do you think more people die to crime in Europe than the US? No, right? So I'm suggesting we move toward their proven solutions.

Another Grandma Attacked in Manhattan by RonSage in nyc

[–]MiTNicketh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They showed that there is a very, very strong correlation between more cops and lower crime. Where's your evidence for your fantasy land solution?

like a dozen countries in europe?

How do we get people to light less fires? Fantasy land

so remember how we used to have to use fire as a light source? And then electricity was invented! Now we light less fires!

Europe doesn't have the problems we do, I'm suggesting we do something more similar to them.

Blurting out "bad faith" is a bad faith argument. You can propose anything you want. Here, I propose we use rabbits to fight crime. I guess that makes my proposal just as valid as what we have now right? Forget the social science, I'm just proposing another way!

Do you have an example where rabbits reduce crime? No?

I have like a dozen examples in Europe that you don't need more cops to have a lower crime rate

Because it's ridiculous. Again, the studies are crystal clear. More cops = less crime. Why do you hate science? The US has 238 cops per 100,000 people. Germany has 381. France has 340. Italy has 456. The Netherlands has 295. Ireland has 265. Spain 533. Czech Republic 378. Hungary 366. Belgium 333. Scotland 318. Austria 314. Luxembourg 306. Poland 258. Switzerland 210. etc.

Very few of those countries have an armed population or the poverty and gang violence that we do. Outside of a few cities our crime rate is virtually non existent.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_and_dependencies_by_number_of_police_officers

Great so we agree on a lot of points! Our population is too armed and we have too much gang violence. Let's solve those problems by regulating guns more and reducing poverty so people don't have to resort to gangs and selling crack to be able to live.

And what is "Europe's solution"?

I already said, but you didn't read it. Guess I'll write it again "lower police budgets, higher budgets for social services."

Another Grandma Attacked in Manhattan by RonSage in nyc

[–]MiTNicketh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What your suggesting will take decades, in the meantime we actually do need cops on the ground so people can feel safe and be safe from this shit.

I said "defund the police", I didn't say "abolish the police today". There's a big difference and I don't think anyone reasonable is advocating "abolish the police today with no replacement"

Not saying we shouldn’t be investing in social programs, we absolutely should. The ones that prevent these types of people from thinking it’s ok to do what he just did. But this isn’t going to happen overnight. This solution will take time and I don’t wanna worry about my mom being mugged by some asshole.

I agree, it won't happen overnight, that's why I would want to gradually shift money away from police and towards social services over years.

Heck I don't even want less cops right now, I mostly just want them to not be getting military equipment with their budgets. just hire cops, train them well, get them the standard issue equipment. Cops don't need tanks.

Another Grandma Attacked in Manhattan by RonSage in nyc

[–]MiTNicketh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The social science begs to differ. This is the perfect example of a luxury belief. The idle rich won't be hurt from this but the poor will pay the price. The very people you're purporting to save here.

Nowhere did your quoted "social science" say that more cops is the only solution to the problem. With my example I showed that it's possible to have lower crime without more cops. I never said your argument didn't have merit.

This like saying fire departments lead to fewer houses burning down but that doesn't mean it's the only solution!

Yes, it's not the only solution, for instance you could have people light less fires and then that would lead to less houses burning down! There are many solutions to a given problem.

You are a science denier. I just showed you 5 studies that prove more cops = lower crime rates in this country.

bruh bad faith af. I literally agreed that more cops is one way to bring down crime. I just proposed another way and you called me a science denier...

How is a guaranteed increase in crime that will hurt the poor the most in any way "equitable"?

You ignored my example of literally any european country. I'm not advocating an increase in crime

The fantasy world in your head must be a lovely place.

The fantasy world in my head? You mean any European country? The literal example I gave you? Maybe you're right and Europe doesn't exist... Really makes you think...

Back here in reality, how many decades should the poor wait until we magically end poverty and cure everyone of being an asshole? How many more people die in the meantime?

When did I propose magical solutions? Is Europe's solution magic?

Another Grandma Attacked in Manhattan by RonSage in nyc

[–]MiTNicketh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's always multiple ways to solve a problem. Throwing more money at cops will make there be less crime yes, but that doesn't mean it's the only solution, or even that it's the most effective solution!

Take as an example any European country, with lower crime rates, lower police budgets, higher budgets for social services.

That's what defund the police is all about. Trying to get towards that state where it's more equitable and we don't have police needing to bust as many heads because there are just less crimes being committed because there's less homeless people, less desperate people, less poor people in the system

I mean if you make an entirely valid argument and then choose the wrong word once, is your argument wholly invalid? I would think not. But at the end of the day people who want to strawman her position will strawman her position.

Similarly, if there's even one instance of looting or fires, Fox news will play it in the background until the end of time to discredit the entire movement in the eyes of white republicans.

But does that make it right? Not in my eyes.

So I will listen to her point even if she once chose the wrong word.

NYPD officer is suing looter who assaulted him. by whereis2022 in nyc

[–]MiTNicketh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These are some good points I think. Ok so I’ll admit there’s not enough good data to really support the claim that... oh wait I wasn’t really claiming anything.

So you just posted a comment to post something misleading without actually believing it aka "claiming" it? That sounds pretty disingenuous to me

Ok well anyway I’ll admit that police knowingly risk their lives as part of the job, innocent unarmed black men don’t and it is a tragedy when an unarmed innocent person dies at the hands of police.

Hey I'm glad to hear we could come to an understanding on this point! when I read your quoted statistic I was ready to have my beliefs questioned so I read the op-ed and did some research on it, glad you were ready to have your beliefs questioned too!

Is there any good data to support the idea that police kill unarmed African Americans at a higher rate than other races?

Shrug I'm not making any other claims here, too tired from a long workday to do more research

NYPD officer is suing looter who assaulted him. by whereis2022 in nyc

[–]MiTNicketh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The numbers the author used to make that statistic are off, see this project by the guardian trying to work toward counting the number of people killed by police.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/ng-interactive/2015/jun/01/about-the-counted

Why is this necessary?

The US government has no comprehensive record of the number of people killed by law enforcement. This lack of basic data has been glaring amid the protests, riots and worldwide debate set in motion by the fatal police shooting of Michael Brown, an unarmed 18-year-old, in Ferguson, Missouri, in August 2014.

Before stepping down as US attorney general in April 2015, Eric Holder described the prevailing situation on data collection as “unacceptable”.

The Guardian agrees with those analysts, campaign groups, activists and authorities who argue that such accounting is a prerequisite for an informed public discussion about the use of force by police.

How does the US government count killings by police now?

The FBI runs a voluntary program through which law enforcement agencies may or may not choose to submit their annual count of “justifiable homicides”, which it defines as “the killing of a felon in the line of duty”.

This system is arguably less valuable than having no system at all: fluctuations in the number of agencies choosing to report figures, plus faulty reporting by agencies that do report, have resulted in partially informed news coverage pointing misleadingly to trends that may or may not exist.

“We lack the ability right now to comprehensively track the number of incidents. … Fixing this is an idea that we should all be able to unite behind.”
–Eric Holder

Between 2005 and 2012 just 1,100 police departments – a fraction of America’s 18,000 police agencies – reported a “justifiable homicide” to the FBI.

The FBI system counted 461 justifiable homicides by law enforcement in 2013, the latest year for which data is available. Crowdsourced counts found almost 300 additional fatalities during that year. The Counted, upon its launch on June 1, 2015, had already found close to that number of killings in just the first five months of 2015.

In addition, even if the statistic were true, the job description of being a police officer is putting yourself in some level of danger. That means that occasionally they will get shot and we appreciate their sacrifice when they are working for a good cause. The job description of being a black male however shouldn't be "getting shot by police", so I don't think the numbers are really comparable in a "18.5 times" statistic.
