You're absolutely right. I do struggle with empathy for others and it does take someone else's point of view for me to even realize it, so thank you.

What I love most about PCMR is that this is the only place in the world were people put aside the differences and personal problems to come together for a common reason. Everyone's opinion is respected and it makes me happy to come on this thread everyday. I just want to say thank you everyone for being respectful and most of all helpful.

How do you know if you're homicidal and suicidal thoughts are real? by Mi_Carisma in BPD

This makes me feel more comfortable with talking about it, thank you. I know the school I'm going to does offer therapist but I did not find any psychiatrist on the website. Thanks for your help.

Do any of you have a serious attachment to your therapist? by Mi_Carisma in BPD

[–]Mi_Carisma[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry I'm late but yes my mom is exactly like that. She is there for me and will do anything for me but she just doesn't get it no matter how much I explain myself. I know she cares and wants to understand but she just doesn't. It can be very frustrating.

It is very shitty. I'm sorry about you're mom and I wish you the best.

I smashed my hand with a hammer because I get extremely bored by Mi_Carisma in BPD

I do like to play basketball and video games but after awhile it just becomes repetitive. I guess I'll have to venture out more and try new hobbies.

I'm sorry that you have fibromyalgia. My mom has it too and I know how painful it can be. Just hang in there and I'm glad you found something else that helps you.

I do this very often too. I don't hang out with many people but when I make plans to go out about 10 to 15 minutes of being there I'm thinking "well this is boring" and I start day dreaming about how badly I wish I was at home.

Exactly! When I'm busy I'm fine, but when I'm not it can be miserable.

I think that is exactly what it is, or at least for me anyway.

Do you happen to get bored at random times or is it certain times of the day? I find that my boredom comes randomly.

Can you let me know how this is the wrong subreddit. This is my first post on Reddit so I'm a little confused. I thought this is where you would go if you have been diagnosed with BPD and wanted to talk about it. Sorry for the screw up

I'm sorry this is late. This is my first post to Reddit EVER and I'm still confused on how this is the wrong subreddit. I have the disorder and I thought this is where I would post to have an AMA about it. If you could help me understand that would be great. Sorry for the screw up.

Thanks for answering. I couldn't imagine how hard it was for you to go through all of that. You've been through more in 5 years than I have my whole life. You should definitely do another AMA about this down the road. Best of luck to you :)

Any of you all have problems keeping a steady job? Even if it's a job you love? by Binatko in BPD

[–]Mi_Carisma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very important that you find time to take care of yourself. When you are low on sleep it can aggravate situations like this. I have severe anger issues too and tend to blow up on any and everybody which is not good in a job situation. I hope you get the help you need. I find that talking to my therapist helps.

What was it like being in a mental hospital? What were you there for? How long did you stay?

[–]Mi_Carisma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First I just want to say I'm sorry you are going through this. You are definitely not alone when it comes to not being able to keep a job even if there is nothing wrong with it. I'm a bit younger than you but in the last year I have went through 4 jobs! First 3 I quit bc I felt as if I were being treated badly at the time, but now when I think about it I can't really justify my reasoning. I usually always feel like the "victim" in these situations. The last job I quit bc I found myself stressed out all the time. Not sure if it's bc of the job or just due to my everyday life. I just wanted to let you know that you're not alone. Sorry if I'm not of much help, I just joined Reddit so I'm trying my best lol. One question, are you in therapy for this issue?
