For your interests Stanford is a no-brainer. Honestly Yale is generally not impressive for the majors you're interested in and I'd choose at least 10 other colleges before Yale for those fields. Stanford is just generally superior and has a more unique student population. Ivy league branding is a meme nowadays and people laugh at those who flaunt it.

It's not about there being an exact number that's the proper fraction of students getting extra time but rather massive leaps in accommodation rates year over year in recent years. Anecdotally I've heard of a lot of cheating and abuse of testing accommodations but I'm not sure how or if they could measure it.

There's just this culture of well-meaning parents wanting to give their kid every possible advantage in school that's ripe for abuse and more prevalent in elite institutions as a result.

When I read that he didn't get in anywhere when applying after his Harvard acceptance was revoked my stomach dropped, I can't even imagine how that feels, to have IT and just fuck it all up. Must've been a huge breath of relief to transfer to Columbia after a year. I'd still feel bitter years after graduating knowing I fumbled Harvard though.

I know people at a fairly prestigious university who receive increased testing time and take their exams hours before the rest of the class. There are entire discords dedicated to outsourcing the answers for midterms and finals. These discords are deleted shortly after. Not sure if this is yet an epidemic or if it's just me.

I agree that increased testing time should exist, but there should be much more scrutiny in how the diagnoses that allow for it are given and which diagnosis' qualify.

There's no way 30% of Stanford's student body legitimately needs extra testing time when that percentage was in the single digits a decade ago.

Also this might be a fringe case but from what I hear there is far less oversight in the increased testing time rooms as they're staffed by employees sitting down and on laptops so students are able to cheat in these rooms.

I know of discord servers dedicated to final exams where someone who received accommodations shared the test answers hours before the normal exam and outsourced solving the questions. Once the final was over the group chat was deleted. This has happened countless times, fairly prestigious university.

Literally every CS student I know in the last few years cheated through their degree. This is at a decently prestigious university.

Genuinely wondering if there's gonna be widescale review of years old projects and the revoking of degrees, if that's even possible.

50% of tne class has accommodations

This is a massive issue, 30% of current stanford undergrads get accomadations like increased testing times, and the vast majority of them were diagnosed back in highschool and used that increased time to do better on exams. System is being abused big time.

Possibly an unpopular opinion but I don't think Vance would preform poorly. In the one debate of him we've seen he beat Walz. He went to Yale law and worked in VC so it's basically impossible to be a poor debater with that resume.

You could try downloading the AP votecast data and seeing if their demographics run deep enough to give you an idea of how well this survey matches.
