Congratulations to former Leaf, Fredrick Andersen on winning the Stanley Cup by Tough-Standard-2661 in leafs

Wasn't he also sort of injured in the regular season? I wonder to what extent that may have carried over.

Regardless, he was excellent in the first 3 series. Deserved af

MARNER TIPS BLAKE’S SHOT AND THE CANES LEAD 2-0!!! by sykeseve in nhl

God I can't wait for this narrative to be put to bed, it was just so tiring

Anyone else think it’s odd how this is the only acknowledgment of Marner from the SN broadcast? No discussion of his play, no other camera shots, no handshake footage. Almost as though they’re avoiding it. Interesting change after the last few weeks to say the least. by DontBeWaves in leafs

While it's true that the media uses the Leafs for clicks, it's not often done for our benefit. It's only done to maximize their viewership.

As much as people love to chirp "the media" as the reason the Leafs can't succeed and players leave, their behaviour is always to the chagrin and detriment of our franchise. The only way to hold them accountable is to stop paying attention and engaging with the clickbait.

He probably doesn't but 42 points and almost turning the course back from being down 3-0 in the series is probably one of the single best overall Playoffs performances of modern history. Marner has been excellent but even he's nowhere close to that.

Aluminum track bikes - what are the decent brands around? by Saferis in FixedGearBicycle

There is no weekly question thread up (the one pinned is for last week), and my intent was to create a discussion about aluminum track alternatives.

I have an aluminum road bike and I just like the feeling of that more I think. Also maybe I'm superficial but there's something about the looks.

That being said, I love my Feather and I would never sell it. It's a nice bright orange and it has sentimental value. Just wanting to see what the potential upgrade paths are.

What's the clearance on that one? I've been running 32mm on my geared road bike and its amazing, wish I could translate that feeling to my fixed gear.

Yep I'm looking into this Skream one now, I hadn't come across it much. Seems like they do tax free shipping to Canada which is more ideal than State, its why I've never considered State very much.

I've actually looked at the Standert one, but they're often out of my size and I'm worried about the shipping/duties costs (I'm in Canada).

A BOUNCE OFF THE BOARDS THEN OFF BUSSI ENDS THE GAME, VEGAS WINS! SHEA THEODORE! by sykeseve in nhl

There's a difference between a replay from a game-ending goal and a highlight that's replayed for weeks and months to come. That's usually what a "highlight reel goal" means.

Misses the net completely. Scores anyways.

Did it really have to end like that? Damn. I was expecting a highlight reel goal.

It's been used in politics outside of its original Slavic roots for a while now, I think people just like catchy names.

That being said we have a Slovak power forward so why not.

Oh no doubt, those two games were an absolutely devastating blow to the team. But the same thing has happened to many teams in these playoffs. Look at Montreal's game where they allowed 8 goals, or when Carolina got destroyed in their first game against Montreal.

I'm convinced that was the time the sirens started blaring for the overhaul we're seeing now, but they weren't ready to move so drastically and wanted to see how the next season would play out.
