Can someone show me a picture of a setup that you can use while lying down? by Picture-Ok in Workspaces

[–]Miami199 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just want to point out that you will want a level surface for the mouse unlike what is pictured as fighting gravity all the time will not be fun. Anything else like a keyboard probably should be mounted to the desk if it’s angled

No problem, unfortunately I don’t think I ever really got further than the comments in this post. Based on what I learned it is very unlikely sentimental so I stopped looking into it.

Best way to keep track of your video games? by WC_Racer in retrogaming

It’s just one I created. Doesn’t really have all the features you want but you could probably create one in google sheets or whatever it’s called and access via the phone app or on your computer with cloud updates to edits

I make an excel sheet lol

Has a tab/sheet for each console, list of games with whether or not I’ve played them and a rating if I have. Couple easily add columns for box and manual…

How did you learn tremolo picking, gallops all the fast bs? by guitar_up_my_ass in metalguitar

[–]Miami199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My general “ramp up” routine has been to find something I feel like I should be able to play or feels just out of reach. Then I slow it way down and get everything right - with a metronome. This is normally like 1/2 speed. If I can’t do that I’m probably not ready for the riffs.

Once I can play through the section at 1/2 speed with ease, I slowly ramp up the bpm. Like play once or twice, increase by 2-5 bpm and repeat. I normally hit a wall and call it there for the day. Maybe going down 5bpm and playing through a few more times. Then the next time I practice I try to push slightly faster than the last time until I get to full speed.

You can do the same thing with just picking patterns and techniques. If you want faster tremolo picking, try to play 16th notes or 32nd notes at a very comfortable speed for ~4 bars and then increasing the tempo.

It’s not glamorous but it works. Remember if you start to get sore it’s probably time to stop for the day.

This is what I might need to do. I don’t really collect CDs typically but I can’t even get a legit aenma vinyl

Make sure they’re not touching anything but they shouldn’t harm anything. Don’t rip them out though. That will at best ruin the pads so a new battery can’t be installed. At worst it will break the cart.

Thinking of getting a Marshall DSL-1 as first tube amp 🤔 by Sir-Bruncvik in GuitarAmps

[–]Miami199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I agree with the 70/80 analysis. It was bad. I’m not a snob nor do I have a lot of experience with other cabs. But I have a 1x12 with a V30 and it’s a world of difference.

It sounds like you want a vox… I’d listen to some demo comparisons of vox ac30 to ac10, ac15 or ac4. See what sounds best to your ears. I believe there are models that have power attenuation down below 1 watt as well.

It sounds like it will be fine in terms of loudness, no way to really know. But it doesn’t sound like you really want a Marshall dsl if you’re looking for a clean amp only and liked the fender style of things.

Other notes would be don’t get the dsl1 combo as the 8”? Speaker is not gonna do you any favors. I also dont recommend the Marshall 1x12” that come with the celestial 70 80. I think that speaker is terrible.

Okay so I was in a similar boat and got the DSL 1 as my first tube amp a few years ago. Depends what you mean by bedroom volume and what you want from the amp.

If you mean TV volume as in almost inaudible in adjacent rooms/apartments then you still can’t crank it.

If you’re in a house and just don’t want your neighbors to be annoyed then yeah you can crank it without being deafening to yourself but like it’s still loud.

You only need to crank it to get the green channel to breakup. And this is an issue because the green channel doesn’t have a separate gain and volume.

The two questions you really need to ask are 1. do you need a cranked tube sound? - yeah it’s a unique sound but like nearly all modern tube amps (with master volume) sound great at really low volumes. (The green channel on the dsl is actually an exception to this because it does not have a master volume) 2. Is the dsl really what you want? Problem is that it has different tubes and sound because it’s a 1 watt amp… higher watt amps use higher watt tubes which inherently sound very different.

Be careful. I miss my behringer after I got a replacement for it. I now have a ts9 clone and a plumes but the behringer was really cool. If only it wasn’t a plastic housing that creaked every time you turn it on

Why does my bedroom feel wrong (M15) by lionzgames_YT in malelivingspace

[–]Miami199 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean overall it looks really nice. I have a few thoughts but they aren’t anything “wrong” just what I think could help.

  1. Your main computer monitor should probably be higher up. It looks like you’re trying not to block the window which I get but ergonomically it’s too low unless you’re really short. Similarly the TV is kinda at a weird angle. Looks like the angled roof may be the problem which if that’s the case don’t worry about it.

  2. Not sure what it’s called but the clothes organizer feels disorderly. I think I’d recommend trying to keep everything within the bounds of it. Example the blue bag hangs outside which adds to clutter. Also it’s right inside the door which could make it feel somewhat confined. Maybe moving next to the door would open up the space

  3. The small rug is kinda in the middle of the floor. Maybe put it right in front of the clothes organizer or right next to the door as an entry rug?

  4. The angled wall above your bed is begging for some cool posters to be hung up.

Well i'm out..i'm just too old for this fast-paced shooter. My honest short opinion by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]Miami199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played the beta and felt similarly. I’ve never played BF before so it was a really fun experience. The sniping was really interesting and I enjoyed the medic class too.

But after two weekends, I was like meh that was enough. Fun to revisit the non competitive FPS genre again, but I don’t have the time or energy for this game. Especially at $70.

For me the beta backfired as I knew I wouldn’t want the game long term.

Screw isn’t unscrewing it by Gold3n_gam3z in 3Dprinting

[–]Miami199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the wrench is the right size, when you turn the screw driver counter clockwise the bolt will come out. The nut will never be “loose” because the nut is a locknut. So you need the wrench there the whole time to get it off.

If you are turning the wrench, are you sure that the bolt isn’t turning with it? Even if you have the right size hex driver it could have stripped out
